What Now? Jom Ah Lepak!!

A UKM graduate from humble beginnings to being the winner of the 2022 Malaysia Teacher Prize. A passionate educator and a loving teacher, Anuthra is one of Malaysia’s decorated teachers that has changed many of her students' lives.

Currently teaching at Tenom, a rural area in Sabah, we explore her ways in maximizing natural resources to create an immersive experience in her classes, engaging students' interest and emphasizing the importance of student voices in the decision making process when it comes to education.

We've finally reached the final episode of our 2nd mini series, what a ride! In our last segment we talk to Jeremiah Loo on his unexpected call to the Olympic Games at the very last minute. In contrast with that, we got to understand a bit more of artistic gymnastic and explore more of Jeremiah's love for sports. 

For the majority of this episode we spoke in English. As we move in to our second episode, we invite Phee Jinq En to explore her insights on how competing in the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) in the United States improved her performance in competitive swimming. We also delve in her experience at the past 2 Olympics (Rio & Tokyo) which was remarkable shocking and interesting. Listen to the end to hear some encouraging advice in pursuing the athletic career!

For the majority of this episode we spoke in Bahasa Melayu. We finally start of our second mini series with uprising talent in Malaysian Cycling, Fadhil Zonis! in this episode we uncover his origin in competing in competitive track cycling and what it feels like to be a part of the Malaysian national Cycling Team. In contrast with, we later talked about how competitive keirin is played and his hopes in part-taking the Paris Olympic in 2024. Definitely a inspiring episode coming from the man himself. We hope Fadhil will finally reach his Olympic dream and compete in the worlds most prestigious multi-sport event!  

We are ending off our last theme of the year with the creative Jiven Sekar from The Salad Show. Currently, Jiven is a content creator on YouTube and has created outstanding short films, music videos and funny skits we all can enjoy on his channel called The Salad Show. In our last episode today we invite him to explore his motivation on creating content online and also dive through his thoughts on making effective storytelling to his audience. In this episode we lepaked with the band members of Son Of A Policeman! It was a fascinating insight as we got to delve into their humble beginnings of starting the band till becoming one of Malaysia's Rising Indie Pop Band. We also got to know how the music industry works in Malaysia from an indie band perspective. In contrast with that, we got to understand how they write their songs as well as the messages they want to bring in their music. To all SOAP fans, you can get a little sneak peak of their new EP coming out next year!

One of the most lepaked episode with our guest, we collaborated with Roeshan from The Rumah Roy Podcast. In this episode we touched on a lot of topic regarding how the pandemic has changed us culturally in Malaysia. The three of us shared our thoughts and stories of our time during this time of crises. Among the things we emphasized on were our work routine, university life, how we socialize and create memories with people online, the difficulties of getting/renewing a drivers licenses (yes we talked about the incredible all terrain Myvi) and the up rise of many national and international issues that were being discussed on social media. We are ending our last episode of our debate mini series with one of the pioneers in Malaysian debating. An IIUM (International Islamic University Malaysia) Legend, we invite Muhammad Abdul Latif to share some insights on his prosperous and inspiring journey during his time when debating was fairly new in Malaysia. We also explored some of Latif's useful and detailed tactics to win debates (which is still used till this day) and the key to construct and deconstruct arguments. Lastly, we end of this series by uncovering what the future holds for Malaysian debating. Will we ever win the World Championship? Stay tune to listen till the end to know the answer! 

Being a debater isn't just a hobby to some, its their lifestyle. We brought in one of IIUM's (International Islamic University Malaysia) best debater Danial Rahman to tell his experiences how debating has helped him create connection and enhance his working capability in the workforce. In Malaysia, very rarely we get to see athletes play or perform in a winter sport. In this episode we brought Malaysia's and JDT U-17, Haidan Safiy, to tell his journey on playing Ice Hockey in Malaysia despite the lack of recognition it gets. We explored the game of Ice Hockey and delve into Haidan's hopes and dreams that he wishes to leave in a sport that is starting to build up in South East Asia. She is also the Olympian and Sports Woman of The Year 2018. Her name is the fierce, cheerful and awesome Amy Kwan! Growing up we all have struggled in accepting and embracing ourselves for the person we are. As we continue in our theme Health, we have invited the lovely and beautiful Rocyie Wong, a Psoriasis Advocate, to talk on her journey and story living life with psoriasis (A chronic autoimmune condition) + her self-acceptance of herself, how it impacted her as an individual and also exploring her motivation to become an advocate. 

So its that time of the year again where we celebrate and appreciate all the teacher here in Malaysia. Our guest for our Teacher Day Special will be none other than our charismatic, awesome, inspiring and empathetic Sir Firdaus. He has taught us many things during our high school years whether it be in academics or about life, he has been an important figure to us and also to those who have studied under him. In this episode we talked on his motive on becoming a teacher and his thoughts of being a father of an autistic son.

In this episode we took a really intriguing topic that is understanding anime and the anime culture. We called non other than our "anime man" himself, Wanimez aka Wan Zamaksyari ( our senior, ML studio speaker and an anime Youtuber ) to talk on with this topic :3. It was interesting delving into the sub-culture of the anime culture and also knowing the exclusive genre anime provides to viewers and fan alike. 

In this episode, we yet again talk to another amazing senior of ours, Azam Rahim. Currently Azam is taking his degree in medicine in Kursk State Medical University in Russia. It was pretty awesome to catch up on his experience studying and to cope living in a European country at a young age after SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia). Not only that, towards the end Azam gave a very useful advice to those who are willing to study abroad. Interested ? Jom Ah Lepak!

In episode 12,  we invited someone all the way from China to talk on an intriguing topic that is super important. This person is the Founder of Empathy for Youth academy, educator and a spokesperson artist, YES, we have invited Illya Sumanto to come here to lepak with us to talk about the incredible power of Empathy and Also the Importance of Emotional Literacy. (P.S Haziq is missing again XD)

Sports has always been a big part of our lives. In this episode, we discuss our thoughts and views of the wonder of sports and also reminisce back to the 2016 Olympic Games when Dato' Lee Chong Wei won against his all time rival Lin Dan. Not only that, we also talked about the most interesting part of sports, Unpredictability and Drama!!... and also not to mention FERNANDO ALONSO IS COMING BACK TO F1 in 2021 

For episode 10, we invited someone from the United States and to talk about his awesome and inspiring stories. The person we are inviting is the one and only Fakhry Fauzi. Fakhry is an alumni for IIUM (International Islamic University Malaysia) and also a debater for IIUM. Here we talked about why on his surprising reason to the States and also get an insight how's it like living there. 

In part 2 we discussed about Mr. Hasrizal recent book which is Seni Berfikir Yang Hilang (The Lost Art of Thinking). Mr. Hasrizal gave a deep in depth of his book and we uncovered the core reason about the 6 branches of knowledge that was pointed out in the book. Was Incredible knowing that all knowledge is connected to one another. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
