Substance use at the U
The Health Buzz team sat down all together for the first time since airing the podcast in December of 2020. Rae and Kendall discuss the importance of being aware of how you feel in your body when choosing to use substances and when not to, when to take breaks from substance use, and how the relationship between substance use and mental health correlate with one another. We also feature a session on bartending school and the significance of knowing how much alcohol you are consuming.

What the heck is harm reduction?

In this episode of Health Buzz we dive into harm reduction surrounding substance use. Hosts Sara Odenthal and Rachel Gordan talk with Kyle Yoder and Michael Layeux with us from the UM student group, students for sensible drug policy (SSDP) about what harm reduction is and resources that can help save lives. We talk about what harm reduction is, common harm reduction tips (like fentanyl testing and naloxone access), the unregulated drug market, and policy that applies to UM students.
