Episode 2. Métis, Matriarchs and Madness
This week's episode uncovers what it means to seek cultural identity in a family that quietly dismissed it's Métis roots. The cousins explore what they call "grief gaps" in their family history and recognize the pride that is returning to their family as they acknowledge and embrace these roots. Kerry shares the experience of picking up a hitch hiker while traveling the Trans-Canada highway and how this visitor trans-formed her life by helping her understand what it is like to be an indigenous elder today. The cousins also discuss the importance of stories and listening to the stories of others. Deets would also like to clarify that she knows it's the Red River Jig but, brain farts happen - All apologies.
