#35 Conversation: Coping with COVID19 with Jennifer Tan
In this episode, I welcome Jennifer Tan back for another Conversation; look up Conversations #01 and #08 for our previous Conversations. Jennifer is a Yoga Instructor, an Educator and a lululemon Ambassador based in Singapore. This Conversation is all about COVID19. We share observations about the impact of the virus, how things are going to get a lot worse before becoming better, and when it hit us that this. is. serious. We discussed how we are coping (and not coping) with COVID19, and exchanged reminders to help those around us.
Here are Jennifer's ten thoughts around how to cope with the current reality of COVID19:
1. Forgive yourself - practise self compassion, wherever you are, whatever you’re doing.
2. Find an anchor - use routine, anything regular/consistent, to help ground yourself.
3. Move joyfully - move in ways you enjoy, and because you want to, not because you feel you should.
4. Look after your headspace - share what’s coming up for you through writing or talking with someone you trust.
5. Don’t compare yourself to others - let them do what they need to do - stay focused on your needs.
6. Be curious - explore what serves you in challenging times - movement, meditation, art, reading...
7. Rest - CONSCIOUSLY.
8. Breathe - CONSCIOUSLY.
9. Have hope - look for the good in this - it’s out there.
10. Observe without judgement - both your own behaviour and that of others.
If you’d like to connect with Jennifer or follow her journey, find her on Instagram (@practisewithjen) for all things yoga and mindfulness.
