#25 - Life changing books - 5 personal recommendations
Today’s I'm talking about a few life-changing books. These are my personal recommendations which I read in the last year 2019.
Books can change lives. Not overnight but yes with the knowledge they expose to you, with that knowledge over a period of time you find yourself charting on a life course that was somehow directed by those experiences which you read in the books.
Last year I read the most books ever with the help of Audible. An app which revolutionised the way books are consumed.you
Here are 5 books which changed my life for good -
- Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari
- Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert
- The law of success by Napoleon Hill
- Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown
- Becoming by Michelle Obama
So these were the 5 books out of all the books I read in 2019. Which changed my life in some way or the other.
The point is not to read as many books as you can but to grasp the meaning of the knowledge which the writer is trying to share through his work.

#23 - Noticing a moment! (In the run)
Went on a 45 mins run after so many weeks!
I started the run on Nike+ Run club today with a headspace guided run. While on the run Coach Benett and Andy Puddicombe we guiding me on the run and chatting.
There was a moment in the run towards the second half of the run, where Andy mentioned instead of focusing on the goal set which may be kms or time run. Focus on the this moment and the next and the next one! What's happening now?
It resonated with a lot. I was literally focusing on the clock that when this misery of 45 mins will get over. But then I change my attention from the goal to the present moment. Literally I saw how the fresh air was turning helping me breathe and how my posture was in the next moment and somehow a smile came on my face and I knew what Andy was talking about!
I'm going to add more of this kind of narration in my runs and I suggest if you run please checkout the guided running section in the Nike+ Plus run club app and If you don't run. Then please start running. It may very well change your life.

#22 - 13 reasons why!
This episode is about anxiety, depression and some resources on how to cope with it.
Last year I watched a series called "13 reasons why!" on Netflix which talks about depression and suicidal intentions.
It hit me hard. Having been though a couple of episodes of rough patches and depressive moments, I could relate to it so much.
I was so much sad seeing the main character committing suicide in the series. Cause this is not far from reality, so many teenagers and kids entering into adulthood commit suicide. Why? The most important reason of them all is not getting support at the right time.
Do you have someone in your family who keeps away from social life or have been bullied in their school or college and you found them a little different from their usual being? This may be a sign.
The signs of depression may be visible or may not even be visible at times. But still if you are family to someone who is in depression or may be a close friend. You can look into the outer mask of smile and find that this person needs support. Sometimes, support may be just as small as talking to them and listening to them for sometime or may be just hug them and tell them they'll just be fine. But sometimes, when the depression goes undetected for long and this person cannot cope up with it, even with your support. That may be the time to reach out to a doctor to take some therapy sessions or may be even some meds. As a society we have created a stigma around therapy and psychology sessions. We need to collectively break out of this stigma and let everyone breathe. You never know when your own family, close friend or even yourself get into depression. So you should know these are the ways out of it.
If you are in depression or you know someone who is in depression or having a rough patch. Get support. It doesn't hurt and most of the people get out of it with right therapy and support.
Here are some resources, if you are facing one of these conditions and are feeling stuck –

- Here are The top 10 mental health apps to deal with anxiety.
- There is long form blog post which I wrote earlier this year. Here is the link to that. It might help to know more about anxiety and depression and other types of the disorders.
- Last but most important -

#21 - Blurred lines
Today’s episode is about how creators are mixing paths and creating epic things. It's a blurred line between any two passions or professions!
We are living in exciting times, when we have liberty of pursuing any passion or doing almost anything. Yes, you heard it right. Anything.
Even somethings which would feel completely absurd a decade ago are coming to reality, for example - a Paris based artist L’Atlas creates an amazing art work by combining two arts - Graffiti With Calligraphy. There is one of his work A giant compass which he created for a grand plaza in Paris. It feels like an alien work but so beautiful to look at. Truly amazing piece of art.
Another great example I’ve seen on Instagram lately is mixing up art work with fruits and veggies where the artist creates shapes with fruits and veggies and mixes them into a painting work so it looks so spectacular.
Then there is a band who makes music with their mouths and many of them sing eventually making amazing music.
Artists are moving beyond the boundaries sanity by mixing up two very different kind of streams of art. Now as all the streams are starting to feel saturated on their own. So people are now mixing up things and creating fascinating stuff.
So I wanna leave you with this question, even if you are not an artist. Let’s say you are a content creator or an office worker. How would you mix two different crafts which you know? Wouldn’t it be awesome? Let’s say you may have learned two different skills, try to connect dots and see if you can create an awesome project to work on.
This is the time of blurred lines.
