Between tweets and the streets, Aries and Ahmad dive into what some folks seem to misunderstand about polyamory, and the Slap heard 'round the world. There is so much to discuss about and in-between these topics, so hold on tight for a jam packed episode. 

In our main segment, Aries and Ahmad dive into an AITA post from Reddit all about one man and his piss problem. After several "accidents" at social gatherings due to a "medical condition", the author's husband is disinvited from her sister's wedding and refuses to go in solidarity with her man. Listen for yourself and let us know, is she the asshole? And moreover, what's up with kinks and how do we practice them well and ethically?

Howdy Hoes!

This week, Aries and Ahmad talk about desirability politics. How do Eurocentric beauty standards affect how we are socialized and navigate the world? How relative is beauty? Is beauty just a result of all of the -isms and oppressions that are present in our world? How do we as Black people understand "pretty privilege" as a facet of racism and anti-Blackness? These are just some of the questions we address within this episode. 

 We also get into current events like lil Durk's recent body count comments, the Jussie Smollet case, and Meghan + Harry's battle against anti-Blackness in Buckingham Palace.

After a long hiatus, Hoes Talk is back and ready to take on every topic under the sun. This week we challenge misogynoir, the specific anti-Black misogyny that targets Black women. We focus on the conversations we have seen surrounding the ongoing Tori Lanez vs. Megan Thee Stallion court case, and Megan's recent online run in with DJ Akademiks aka Jerry the Mouse. 

Black women deserve a world and a community where they can feel protected and supported, and currently things aren't warm and fuzzy for Black women like Megan. Being the victim of a violent crime is already traumatic, but when your court case in constantly in the news and the shade room, and so many people are calling for your head, it makes us wonder, how does this perpetuate violence against Black women and keep Black men from being accountable for their actions? We dig deep into this topic on Hoes Talk this week, and we hope that you enjoy this serious conversation. 

Happy Valentine's Day, Hoes and Foes!

We start off this weeks episode talking about leaked sex tapes and the Tinder Swindler. It's been a rowdy week on the socials and we're excited to get into it. 

We have a special guest on the pod! Maij Mai (they/he/homie/sib) is a good friend of ours and a dope person who we're excited to talk to this week. We are continuing last week's discussion of bi-racial/multi-racial Black identity with our guest star, a Black and Southeast Asian activist who has an important perspective to add to our conversation. This week's main course elaborates on the themes from last week and gets into the unexplored elements of last week's meal, we're excited to share it with you.

This week, instead of engaging our regular segments, Aries and Ahmad dig into the 2% rule for Blackness and what it means in our evolving world. 

For our entree we are serving up Historical Hotties: Actors, Civil Rights Leaders, Athletes, and sexy Black people from all walks of life. Get into this melanin and thirst with us! 

Our recommendation this week is to indulge your Black-ass self this BHM, and to purchase your Girl Scout cookies from Troop 6000. Troop 6000 is made up entirely of girls experiencing homelessness and they could really use the cookie points to do great things.

This week, Aries and Ahmad dive into the commodification of Blackness. Here we are thinking critically about what it means to consume Black culture without loving and honoring Black people. We imagine new methods and bring attention to current methods for Black cultural ownership. In the era of the Kardashian empire and TikTok fame, how do Black people keep what is for us, by us, in our own pockets and spaces? What does Black solidarity and unity really mean in our global world?

This week on the Hoes Talk podcast Aries and Ahmad are digging into so many current events and funny happenings! Tweets continue to make us Skeet, and of course we must cover our Thots and Prayers. When the streets call, we get into "high value men" in a discussion of the Fresh + Fit podcast's latest L featuring Brittany Renner, and we give a couple hoe-tips for the hoe on the go. We all need community to keep us safe and there are so many ways we can entrust our safety to each other. 

The main course this week is Reproductive Justice. We discuss the Texas Abortion Bill, what reproductive rights and healthcare are, and what each of us can do to protect our rights. Happy 50th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade to our repro warriors out there!

This week Aries and Ahmad discuss Jamie Lynn Spears, the Hot Sauce method of birth control, and Safe Sex in the midst of Coronavirus. 

Ahmad gets scholarly on that ass, diving into the stigmas that persist around sexual health and wellbeing in queer communities and the ways that the AIDS epidemic continues to affect us in 2022. The hoes plot a path forward that centers wellbeing and treatment, placing care over stigma as we compare the response to AIDS and HIV to the current COVID-19 dilemma.
