Power of Self-Reflection
In this episode, Lydia talks about how when we avoid discomfort, which we are wired to do, we create a life that is missing something. We find ourselves stuck and nagged by feelings of discontent and unease. Maybe we are even faced with a Devine storm that grabs our attention!
The answer is a journey inward. It is intentional self-reflection.

She found herself struggling to make empowered choices like she used to. She wanted to understand what she was experiencing so Debi decided to enroll in a PHD program in transpersonal psychology which is the psychology of transformation and human potential. Power of finding your JOY, with Amy Erickson. S4E6
Amy spent a large portion of her life thinking something was wrong with her. She felt powerless over her reactivity and she did not know how to cope with certain sensations that she was having in her body which led to her reacting in shame, rage, and isolation. It wasn’t until she learned about reactive attachment disorder that she realized that her trauma was a result of the lack of love and connection that she felt with her mother as a young child. Understanding what caused these instinctual reactions was a huge relief but she still needed to figure out how to heal. Amy shares her story and how she learned to find her joy again.

Power of Setting a Bold Goal, with Paul Forchione. S4E5
Paul Forchione was born with Cerebral Palsy so severe that the doctors predicted that he would never be able to walk. Through intense physical therapy he was able to walk but then experienced bullying in school. In hopes of distracting himself, Paul set a huge goal of making the varsity baseball team. He focused on his goal and put in the work and people started to notice. Kids started to cheer him on and he built meaningful relationships. Paul shares with us how he was able to shift from a powerless mentality with being picked on in school for being different, to one that made him get noticed for his hard work and dedication.

Power of Releasing the Past, with Terri Kozlowski. S4E4
Though Terri had loving people in her life, her mother was abusive and enabled others to traumatize her. To get drugs, her mother allowed strangers to assault her 11-year-old body sexually. She then left her and her sister alone on the streets of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Terri’s childhood left her filled with fear until she embarked on a spiritual journey and learned the skills that took her from victim to survivor. Terri shares with us that we are all born knowing who we are and what our purpose is. However, life experience or abuse may instill fear and break the connection with our authentic selves. Before we can reconnect, we first must release the past.

Power of dreaming and believing, with Amy Johnson. S4E2
Amy Johnson is an artist, a coach, and in her words, “a creative multi-passionate person”. But she felt like no one really valued what she had to offer. So, for years, she worked various jobs she didn’t like or that weren’t suited to her passions, strengths and creativity. She ended up in a cycle of poverty, under financial stress and feeling depressed because she just assumed her life was always going to be hard. She felt powerless to her circumstances.
When she randomly purchased the book "You are a badass at making money" by Jen Sincero, she connected deeply with the authors story which gave her hope for her own life. She started DREAMING about a better future and BELIEVING that she could make it happen. She started her own company and has a new optimistic perspective on life's challenges. Case in point: when she broke her back riding a horse and was stuck in bed for several weeks, she happily used the time to design her company!

Power of acceptance, thoughts, and allowing ourselves to feel, with Lorrie Rivers. S4E1
We talk with Lorrie Rivers about how her experience with a disease that literally stopped everything taught her some incredibly valuable lessons.
When Lorrie was in her 20’s, she suffered for over 8 years with severe ME/CFS which stands for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. There was a period where she was so weak that her father had to feed her; she couldn’t go up the stairs; and she had to be carried to the bathroom, all the while being in excruciating pain.
Before this, she was a very active person, running 3 miles a day, pursuing an acting career and on film sets for 12 hours a day. After she became ill, she had to give all of that up, even to the point of not being able to have any career for the first 6 years of her illness.
Throughout those years, she learned the importance - and power - in acceptance. She stopped trying to force a solution, and instead, made the decision to rest – both literally and figuratively. And she had the chance to put these lessons into practice again last year when her ME/CFS returned in the form of Long COVID.
Lorrie's experience and her hard-earned wisdom has given her the opportunity to help so many others who suffer with similar conditions.

S3E13 A new perspective on pain. Joseph James talks about losing his wife to cancer and what he learned from the experience.
Joseph went into "fix-it mode" when he got the devastating news that his wife had cancer. He was convinced that if they did the right things, his wife would be healed and that her story would be a source of hope to others. He documented the journey and although his goal was to heal his wife, the healing through that process was really meant for him. Now Joseph uses his new outlook on pain as a way to motivate and encourage others.
S3E12: Taking control of her health helped her fight cancer, with Hayley Dubin
Like so many of us, Hayley’s life was busy. At 29 years old, she was married with a small child, trying to get pregnant again, and working a stressful ‘part-time’ job that had the workload and schedule of a full-time job. She knew the stress wasn’t good for her health, but she kept plugging along. Until one day, a severe pain in her side landed her in the emergency room where she discovered she had stage 3 ovarian cancer that had spread to her appendix and colon.
After finishing cancer treatments, her doctor told her to go back to living her normal life and come back in 3 months. Hayley knew she wasn’t going to leave her health to chance again, so she took control over her lifestyle and made some big changes.
Today, she is cancer free and helping other women gain confidence and tools to support them on their own cancer journey!

S3E10: Accepting and embracing the process after a life-altering injury, with Ollie Garza
42 years ago, at the age of 14, Ollie Garza suffered a major injury while playing in a high school football game. Ollie went from being an extremely active teenager, to not being able to move anything at all from the neck down. He had to relearn everything, including the things so many of us take for granted like brushing his teeth, combing his hair, and getting dressed; and at the same time keeping up with his studies as a freshman.
He had every justification to feel hopeless, and he did go through a period of blaming God and feeling sorry for himself, asking “why did this happen to me?” But he didn’t stay in that mindset.
Ollie is now sharing his remarkable story, including how he learned to not only accept, but also embrace his new reality; and from that, has found that the sky is the limit.

Imagine feeling useless, scared, helpless and paranoid. Then pair that with panic attacks and relentless crying, but you have no idea why or what is happening. Sara knew she needed to better understand what was going on and find healthy ways of managing the symptoms. She started researching and talking to her doctor about treatment options. When she started a menopause support group at work, she discovered that many women struggle in silence, reluctant to raise the issue of menopause in the workplace.
