Phil 4:8 The Great 8

Phil 4:8 The Great 8

Anthony breaks down Philippians 4:8 a little bit. It's our family staple verse, how we anchor our faith, a touchstone to get back to basics with the Lord and move forward. If it is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, worthy of praise, think on these things. Those are the Great 8, half of what we call Gr8 Fruit when coupled with the Fruit of the Spirit of Galatians 5:22, 23. After watching an Elevation YTH stream on Twitch with GDO3, where Daniel asked for a Bible verse we were thinking on, Anthony shared Phil 4:8 and instead of going straight to gaming this morning, he decided to spend a little bit of time with the Lord, and now we have this podcast. Listen in and let us know which of the Great 8 can you work on more today! Leave a comment on what is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, if there be any virtue and if there be any praise! Think on these things!

Tapping into that Flow! 1 Timothy 1 Bible Study

Tapping into that Flow! 1 Timothy 1 Bible Study

Finally! I was able to sit down and get into chapter one of the first letter to Timothy from Paul. I have to say that last night I was up till about 3 am thinking about this stuff.

What did I learn?

I learned that there is a Grace, filled with love and faith, that was given to us when Christ came down. The same grace that Paul felt to be "exceeding and abundant" when Jesus saved him. Though in chapter one Paul seems to be laying the groundwork for what he is about to say in the next chapters, one thing is certain, he writes this letter with sincere love and faith that not only speaks to Timothy, but because of how infinite the love and faith of our God is, it transcends time, giving us direct access to tap into that very same Grace, here and now! Thank you, Jesus!

How can I apply it?

Paul does drop some nuggets of how we can tap into this flow of Grace, which is the same love and faith that is in Christ Jesus. I think recognizing that it is the same love and faith in Christ is key. No knockoffs here! He teaches us to guard ourselves against those that aren't teaching us correctly about the grace that has been given to us. We are learning from whom we surround ourselves with. I am paying attention to whom I am following on social media, the people in my circles,  and doing my best to stay drama-free. Let's take it a step further: what kind of patterns are we setting for our children to follow? The purpose in my thoughts has to be love in any circumstance, which creates this pattern of thinking and being. Thus, tapping into that flow, so I can in good conscience, "fight the good fight."

What did God speak to me?

God's love is infinite. His grace knows no limit. The fact that I can read it in this letter now

proves what Paul was saying is true in 1 Tim 1:16, "However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life." We can tap into and hold onto that same grace, that love and faith Christ has in us, so He can show the world through us the utmost patience, making us examples, proving His love and faithfulness in us to anyone who would come to know Christ for eternity.

I really enjoyed reading this chapter and hope you enjoy it too. If it helps and you enjoy it, tell a friend. Check us out on social media via the links below and give us a like, follow, and subscribe to stay up to date with what is happening next. Take care everyone and God bless you all.

Getting in the Word. What does God tell us to do during times like this?

Getting in the Word. What does God tell us to do during times like this?

We are about two weeks into preventing the spread of this pandemic. By that, I mean some self isolation from the outside world. It’s given us time to really reflect on how COVID 19 is impacting humanity and the communities we live in. During this time we have read up on what God says about all this and we found ourselves in II Chronicles 7:12-14. Listen in as I talk about this promise from God and how it applies today.

Spoken Word-I Am Who I Am, Who I Was, And Who I Will Be

Spoken Word-I Am Who I Am, Who I Was, And Who I Will Be

Sometimes in life we find ourselves living with some great regrets. God has shown me that even those "bad" decisions" were all part of his plan. Had I not made them the way I did I would be where I am. I find myself thanking God for those "bad" things everyday.

St. Augustine said, " It is true that wicked men do many things contrary to God's will; but so great is His wisdom and power, that all things which seem adverse to His purpose do still tend towards those just and good ends and issues which He Himself has foreknown."
