Being different together

Being different together

By House of the beloved

How can a culture of freedom resist discriminatory ideologies, rigid religious beliefs, the pervasive commercialization of everything, self-centeredness, alienation, and loneliness?

At the House of the Beloved, we tackle these challenges by designing and embodying alternative ways of being-together and being-present. We support individuals of all ages in discovering and embodying their own way of being human.

Our approach is to embrace diversity as the cornerstone for community building and self-development.

Our mission is to be different together.

Dancing with shadows: a gateway to self-recognition

Dancing with shadows: a gateway to self-recognition

To surrender completely, to get lost in your laughter, to be taken over by intense sadness or exuberant joy. What is holding you back? Maybe you don’t allow yourself to experience life so intensely. Your most vital energies may be kept secret, locked away. Dancing with shadows brings them back. You learn to shift old patterns, transform anger into agency, sadness into connection with yourself and others, and fear into insight and understanding.

Authentic presence: a way of being different together.

Authentic presence: a way of being different together.

Authenticity is often associated with being true to oneself, aligning with a genuine, pure core within, and living and realizing one's goals and dreams from that place.

But is there such an essence in me that I can call my authentic self? Or could it be that my identity and my thoughts about my inner essence are nothing more than internalized norms and values? Because that could mean that I become more authentic by not following myself, but instead letting go of my ideas about who I am…

Becoming more myself by letting go of myself. Welcome to this paradoxical podcast.

A case against safety

A case against safety

Safety seems important to all of us. If I feel completely safe, I can let go of fear, fully relax, and express myself without holding back. It seems self-evident that when I think I am unsafe, I feel fear. But, when the risk of physical harm is absent, could it also be the other way around? That my fear causes me to think that I am unsafe, and that if I can understand and let go of my fear, the perceived risk of being harmed or hurt also disappears? If so, could this enable me to feel at ease and show myself more fully in all circumstances?

A case against love

A case against love

What would happen if we would give up our desire to love and to be loved? Can we then be together without seeking to fulfil our own needs? And if so, would it enable us to give more space to others to express their own way of being human?"

That's the topic of this episode: love as being different together.
