Webinar #196 Laura Bryant Hanford - The WHO guideline to universalize gender transition
Recorded on 2 May 2024 for ICMDA Webinars.
Dr Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Laura Bryant Hanford
In December 2023, the WHO announced a committee to develop an official “guideline” on gender transition. Most members are transgender activists, and only half are medical professionals.
Churches and clinicians need to be aware of the highly organized, well-funded Western activism working through the WHO to impose unethical, unbiblical and unscientific sexual norms, and to open new markets for hormones and surgery as “essential” healthcare.
The webinar will discuss the factors driving this dangerous ideological movement, and the strategies employed by its proponents in the international context. Resources will be offered to respond effectively and to protect vulnerable children and adults.
Laura Bryant Hanford grew up as a missionary kid in France and lives with her family in the Washington, DC area, where she consults and writes on a range of US and international family, child protection and religious freedom issues.
Since 2015, when she began serving on her children’s public school sex education committee, her focus has included the dangers posed by gender ideology. Her background is in international human rights, at the US Embassy in Romania as officer in charge of human rights and on Capitol Hill as a Congressional staffer. She was the lead staff researcher and drafter of the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998. She is a graduate of Princeton University.

Dr Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Dr Richard Harvey The Elephant and the Ant: Mutual Understanding and Blessing? explores the experiences of being a Jewish disciple of Jesus in a church that has been majority world-based for the last 1800 years. What are the biblical theological and cultural differences in understanding Yeshua (Jesus), the church, Israel, and their relationship, and how do these impact historical tensions of antisemitism and current Jewish-Christian relations? How do we express the challenges of identity and unity, particularly in the context of reconciliation, justice, and peace during the current Israel-Gaza war? Richard Harvey is a Jewish disciple of Yeshua (Jesus) who writes, researches and teaches Messianic Jewish Theology. He pioneered the London Messianic Congregation and holds a PhD from the University of Wales.
He is married to Monica, also a Jewish disciple of Jesus, and they have two children and three grandchildren. Webinar #194 Larry Worthen - Conscientious Objection and Duty of Care
Recorded on 11 April 2024 for ICMDA Webinars.
Dr Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Larry Worthen
The swift advance of euthanasia and assisted suicide (MAiD) in Canada and its corresponding effect on conscience rights should be a cautionary tale for the rest of the world. Nova Scotia doctors are currently fighting to practice medicine against regulators who are trying to normalize the practice of euthanasia by requiring an "effective referral" of patients to the service. As the number of disturbing cases expands, more and more doctors are unable to comply with regulators who are threatening discipline for non compliance.
Larry is Executive Director of the Christian Medical and Dental Association of Canada. He resides in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia with his wife, Dr. Linda Gagnon who is a family physician. They have two children and five grandsons. To listen live to future ICMDA webinars, visit https://icmda.net/resources/webinars/

Webinar #191 Dr Patti Francis - Supporting Women Physicians and Dentists
Recorded on 28 March 2024 for ICMDA Webinars.
Dr Felicia Wong chairs a webinar with Dr Patti Francis
Women have become a large sector of medical and dental schools since the mid 80s. Before that time, it was tough for women to be accepted in these fields. God created us male and female and we each bring different gifts to the field of medicine.
This webinar will explore those gifts and needs of women within CMDA US. The organization saw the need to address these needs. This webinar will share that journey of how CMDA US has supported our roles as women in Christ serving together.
Patti Francis was born to German immigrant parents who emigrated after World War II. She became a Board Certified Pediatrician in 1979 and recently retired from private practice in pediatrics. She has been part of CMDA US since becoming a medical student and has served in several leadership positions, including volunteering as a delegate from California. She was asked by David Topazian, DDS, then President of CMDA, to explore the needs of women physicians and dentists in CMDA in 1990. It was given the status of Commission several years later. She served as the original chair and has been involved ever since. To listen live to future ICMDA webinars, visit https://icmda.net/resources/webinars/
Webinar #190 Kallie Fell - Eggsploitation: Trading on the female body
Recorded on 21 March 2024 for ICMDA Webinars.
Philippa Taylor chairs a webinar with Kallie Fell.
The infertility industry around the globe has grown to a multi-billion dollar business changing the modern family and profiting off of a women’s body. Through film, this presentation will explore third-party reproduction with a specific focus on the main commodity: human eggs. It’s no secret that young women all over the world are solicited by ads—via college campus bulletin boards, social media, and online classifieds—offering thousands of dollars for their “donated” eggs, to “help make someone’s dream come true.” Who is this egg “donor” and what is her reality? Kallie started her professional career as a scientist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center utilizing a Master of Science degree in Animal Sciences with an emphasis on Reproductive Physiology and Molecular Biology from Purdue University. While assisting in the investigation of endometriosis and pre-term birth, Kallie simultaneously pursued a degree in nursing with hopes of working with women as a perinatal nurse. After meeting Jennifer at a conference, Kallie became interested in the work of the Center for Bioethics and Culture and started volunteering with the organization. It is obvious that Kallie is passionate about women’s health.
She continues to work as a perinatal nurse and has worked with the CBC since 2018, first as a volunteer writer, then as our staff Research Associate, and now as the Executive Director. In 2021, Kallie co-directed the CBC’s newest documentary, Trans Mission: What’s the Rush to Reassign Gender? Kallie also hosts the popular podcast Venus Rising and is the Program Director for the Paul Ramsey Institute. Her latest film, The Lost Boys: Searching for Manhood, was released earlier this year, as was her new book, co-authored with Jennifer Lahl, The Detransition Diaries (published by Ignatius Press).

Dr Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Jeffrey Pang.
This talk delves into the pervasive use of pornography within church communities, acknowledging the growing concern and the need for awareness. It explores the harmful effects of pornography on mental health, relationships, and spiritual well-being. The discussion also delves into the neuroscience of pornography addiction, shedding light on its impact on the brain.
Additionally, the talk addresses the role of the church in combating this issue, emphasizing the importance of open dialogue, education, and fostering a supportive environment for individuals struggling with pornography addiction. It encourages proactive measures within the church community to promote healing, accountability, and a culture of restoration.
Married to Regina for 25 years, Jeffrey is a proud father of Rachel and Joshua. Jeffrey serves as an elder in a local church. In his free time, Jeffrey served as a helicopter pilot with the Singapore Air Force for 18 years from 1990 to 2008. Thereafter, he spent 13 years as a commercial pilot with Jetstar Asia. A mid-life crisis during the pandemic led him to pursue a Masters in Counselling. He became a professional counsellor in January 2023 with Indigo and Co., a non-profit organisation focused on gender and sexuality issues. He recently completed a Diploma in Sex Addiction. His burden is to help young people overcome pornography and sex addiction. To listen live to future ICMDA webinars, visit https://icmda.net/resources/webinars/
Webinar #188 Dr Pablo Martínez Vila - Prayer and personality
Recorded on 7 March 2024 for ICMDA Webinars.
Dr Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Dr Pablo Martínez Vila.
Prayer is the highlight of our spiritual life, but we are more than just "spirits", we are a unity of body, mind and spirit. Our personality and temperament have a great influence on our spiritual life and our prayer life in particular. This is why it is important to get to know how the weak and strong points of our personality affect the way we pray. Extroverts, for example, preferring action, will struggle to have a regular prayer discipline; introverts will find it more difficult to pray in public. Prayer should not be one more burden in life, but a pleasure to enjoy. Dr Pablo Martínez is a psychiatrist and he currently works at a private practice in Barcelona. He develops a wide ministry as lecturer and teacher in many European countries on topics like “Mind and faith”, “The therapeutic value of the Gospel in emotional problems” or “Taking care of yourself”. His books dealing with such issues have been translated into 16 languages. He served the International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICMDA) as one of its vice presidents.

Webinar #187 Prof John Wyatt - Intergenerational Friendship
Recorded on 29 February 2024 for ICMDA Webinars.
Dr Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Prof John Wyatt.
We live in a sex-saturated culture and it seems obvious that romance and sex provide the most powerful, vital and fulfilling aspects of human living. By comparison non-sexual friendship can seem either weak and unimportant, or potentially abusive.
Yet the Bible celebrates committed covenantal friendship. How can we re-imagine Gospel-shaped friendship in the sexually obsessed and suspicious world in which we live?
What are the red flags that indicate when friendship is going wrong and how can we create healthy Christian communities in which friendships can flourish?
John Wyatt is Emeritus Professor of Neonatal Paediatrics, University College London, a Senior Researcher at the Faraday Institute, Cambridge and President of the UK Christian Medical Fellowship.
He has a clinical background as a paediatrician caring for sick and premature infants and also a medical scientist researching into the prevention of brain injury in newborn babies.
He has always been interested in ethical dilemmas raised by advances in medical technology and has frequently engaged in public and professional consultations and debates from the perspective of the Christian faith.
His book Matters of Life and Death – human dilemmas in the light of the Christian faith has been translated into more than ten languages. His most recent book is Transforming Friendship. He and his wife Celia are longstanding members of All Souls Church in London.

Webinar #183 Doug Fountain & Carolyn O'Brien - Mapping Christian healthcare assets
Recorded on 1 February 2024 for ICMDA Webinars.
Dr Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Doug Fountain & Carolyn O'Brien
Informing Advocacy: Filling Gaps in Data About the Christian Health Landscape
Christian health assets are sometimes overlooked or excluded from programs that strengthen health systems, train health workers, conduct research, and fund services. This is in part because governments, donors, and partners lack quality data about the scope, scale and location of such assets.
The Christian Health Asset Mapping Consortium (CHAMC) is a voluntary association of several of the world’s largest Christian networks that aims to improve data on Christian health assets, including hospitals, clinics, community programs, health worker training programs, supply agencies, and the networks and volunteer agencies that support them.
Doug Fountain serves as CCIH Executive Director. Doug brings over 30 years of experience in health services planning, research, and evaluation and over 20 years in the faith-based and international development sectors. He consults on development strategy and policy with bilateral and multilateral partners and global faith actors. He served in Executive Leadership at Medical Teams International, a relief-focused NGO, and with Uganda Christian University, where he lived for over eight years. He helped start the Christian Health Asset Mapping Consortium, the Christian Journal for Global Health, and the Faculty of Health Sciences at Uganda Christian University. Doug holds an MPA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.S. in Political Science and Economics from the University of Oregon. Carolyn O’Brien is the Program Advisor for CCIH, helping design and monitor programs. Carolyn manages the Christian Health Asset Mapping Consortium, CCIH’s 30×30 Health Systems Initiative, and CCIH’s new consortium on climate resilience. She coordinates USAID-funded projects in reproductive health, vaccine confidence, and drug supply chains. Carolyn served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Albania and has experience studying household air pollution and road safety. Webinar#181 Dr Trevor Stammers - Organ donation euthanasia
Recorded on 18 January 2024 for ICMDA Webinars.
Dr Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Dr Trevor Stammers.
In every country which has legalised euthanasia, organ donation following euthanasia has also been legalised eventually. In Canada, organ removal was integrated to the euthanasia practice from the very start.
The utilitarian case for it is overwhelming logical - if it is ethical to allow doctors to end a patient's life to relieve their suffering, then giving that patient the opportunity to save other lives naturally follows.
This seminar will explore how organ donation euthanasia has grown, especially in Belgium and Canada, consider the arguments put forward for it and offer a biblical Christian response.
Dr Trevor Stammers was Editor of The New Bioethics journal. He was formerly Associate Professor of Bioethics and Medical Law at St Mary's University, London and was a family doctor for 27 years before going into academia. His latest book is The Ethics of Global Organ Acquisition. To listen live to future ICMDA webinars, visit https://icmda.net/resources/webinars/
Webinar#180 Dr Walt Larimore - Becoming an Everyday Missionary in Healthcare
Recorded on 11 January 2024 for ICMDA Webinars.
Dr Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Dr Walt Larimore.
Christians often consider missionaries to be those who depart for another region or country to share the gospel. However, Scripture teaches that we are to be flavorful salt and attractive light everyday where God already has us.
The Biblical principles for everyday missionaries are surprisingly simple and fruitful — an easy yoke indeed. In fact, Jesus is already doing everything necessary to make your daily participation as His everyday missionary stunningly effective.
Don’t miss this webinar which promises to be ministry-altering for all Christians who are not gifted evangelists.
Walt Larimore, MD, a family physician, is the co-author of CMDA US’s “The Saline Solution” which has inspired greatly the Saline Process™ (IHS Global) used by ICMDA as a member organization of the International Saline Partnership.” Walt also helped to develop CMDA US's “Grace Prescriptions,” and was the inspiration for their new series “Faith Prescriptions.” Walt has been recognized in International Health Professionals of the Year and International Health Scientists of the Year as well as the 2000 Intellectuals of the 21st Century. Webinar #177 Andrea Williams - Transgenderism and civil liberties
Recorded on 30 November 2023 for ICMDA Webinars.
Dr Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Andrea Williams.
Transgenderism, as a legal concept, has dramatically affected Western Culture as few other things have over the last decade. Often, the term is ill defined and conflated with gender identity ideology, leading to an overly broad interpretation which has impacted education, employment law, safe spaces for women, religious freedom, child safeguarding, female athletics, freedom of expression and many other aspects of life.
This talk will focus on the lived experiences of the Christian Legal Centre, which has been at the forefront of challenging the transgender agenda in the United Kingdom before the courts, parliament and at the grass roots level.
Having qualified as a barrister in 1988, Andrea Williams founded Christian Concern and the Christian Legal Centre, which have run some of the most high-profile Christian interest campaigns and legal cases in Europe.
A prolific media commentator, she has been a frequent presence on major TV channels and radio stations. She is passionate about seeing every area of society transformed by the gospel.
