Tasha Wilson, Trauma & Tragedy Sensationalized Shattering Her World Part 4
Tasha grew up in a home that from the outside looked like a stereotypical middle-class family. The reality was Tasha was conflicted early in life by who she was inside and who she had to pretend to be on the outside. She was raised in a strict religious environment that was governed by religious beliefs and rules that allowed for little or no flexibility. Tasha’s internal struggles began to manifest in ways that would lead to a series of bad decisions.
Tasha’s inability to express herself and accept her own sexuality, caused her to lead a secret life. Her increasing use of drugs and alcohol ultimately led her to be the victim of sexual assault. The consequences were not asked for nor deserved but would ultimately result in an unexpected pregnancy from the predator who had violated her.
Overwhelmed with shame and guilt, Tasha was unable to share her story with anyone other than her closest friend, another drug addict she thought she could trust. What happened next would result in the world unraveling around her and that of the family her secrets had been hidden from. The stillbirth of her child, her own life in peril from her loss of blood, and the feelings of hopelessness and desperation of a young girl would be the catalyst for an innocent, yet devastating mistake.
Tasha would now become the victim of the criminal justice system, as she was incarcerated and now left without hope. God, faith, and forgiveness transformed a story of hopelessness and guilt, into a story of restoration and second chances that everyone deserves.

Sheena Renee - Child Convict Part 2
Today my guest on iCON, is Sheena Renee, Sheena had a hard childhood growing up, beaten, sexually abused, and left to run with the wrong crowd, drinking and drugs were easy to get to numb the pain. By 15 she was out on her own and married her drug dealer in order to get away from the toxic home life, it didn't get better, but worse. Her husband now beat her and tormented her, she tried to leave but was always found. This became a cycle of abuse that ended when some friends worried about her being found and murdered, killed her husband. Sheena was locked up and while awaiting trial, she was raped inside the jail by a guard and was finally sentenced to life without parole, death by incarceration. For a crime that she wasn’t present for, didn’t ask for or conspire regarding the murder and her plaintiffs never served but were released. Once in prison, she finally felt safe…..

Life's Little Instruction Book Day TWENTY EIGHT
“Always be a person of peace”
Being tranquil, calm and serene, these are the feelings we strive to live in. Being in this peaceful state causes others to gravitate towards us. This is a natural attraction because when the rest of the world is caught up in the chaos of their daily lives, peacefulness stands out.
Imagine being a person who personifies and exudes peace, in all situations. Your life, your being and your state appears as a beautiful picture, something that anyone can look towards and feel comfort. You are like a life raft in the raging sea of life, you will provide safety and answers for a weary world.
The end of suffering is peace. When we have laid down everything that we fought for, held onto, and that the world and our egos told us are true and are important, we find peace. Look at all of the things that cause us stress and to suffer, are they actually important? Do these things truly have the ability to make us happy, important, rich, desirable or loved? The answer is almost assuredly no. Think about this; what is the result of receiving something we think we really want or need? What happens when we do not? Any momentary feeling or emotion that is experienced because of something or someone we desire or expect, is fleeting because it can be taken as quickly as it was given. Peace comes from within, and is not able to be taken from you, but it can be given up if you choose, and you can also share yours with others.
When we evaluate everything in our lives by this premise it is easy to determine what is necessary, and the only thing we find truly necessary for anyone, and at any moment is our next breath. Taking our lives down to the point that we only need our next breath and having that, that everything else is purely a bonus. This leaves us with a peaceful feeling that reminds us that at this moment , and at every moment, we truly have all that we need.
Each day meditate, being grateful and being thankful for everything, happy with nothing and peaceful within, we are now people of peace. MB.

What is iCON?
Mission Statement
I believe that “Everyone deserves a Second chances in life.”
By Telling the stories of the people who have changed their lives in a positive way, we will show the benefits to society and how it is better off when we afford an opportunity to those who have displayed redeemable qualities, rather than long term or indefinite incarceration, how we all benefit.
Through arts and entertainment, we will grow our support through the positive stories of hope, change and redemption.
We will show the human examples of how a life can be redeemable and what the ripple effects are when justice served individuals are provided programs and given a chance to succeed,
Through the combination of music, entertainment, and data driven information, we will tell the amazing stories in a brand-new way that feels good, the WORLD can identify with and will embrace and support.
