October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  This month is both important for us and our patients to be able to spread some awareness about breast cancer.  Today Dr. Jager tells us about estrogen dominance and the importance of our diet and the foods we eat to maintain our hormone levels.

This episode is a personal account of a family member's cancer story and why I wish I could have been more apart of the journey.  Within two weeks my family member went from feeling sick to reaching his end of life and needing hospice.  If you have experienced this yourself or have seen a family member, friend, child experience it you know how it feels.  All you can do is spend the most time you can with them and try to help them feel comfortable during their time they have left on this earth.  We see you and we know how hard it is.

We understand what you or your family member are going through during treatment and at their end of life.  We are here for you and can help provide resources to make you or your family members journey better and be better prepared.  You can ask us anything!

Welcome to the first episode of the ICS: Beyond Cancer podcast. ICS is excited to share this podcast with you! Our topic today is “What is Iowa Cancer Specialists or ICS for short".  Because of the word cancer in our name you probably think that ICS is just about cancer but that’s not all. Yes, we provide cancer treatments BUT we also offer palliative care, survivorship planning, women’s health and wellness, weight management, hematology, battlefield acupuncture and functional medicine.  So although we are called Iowa Cancer Specialists, we successfully treat people who don’t, and will never have cancer.
