She obtained her LL.M. degree in Human Rights Law from Queen Mary University in London. Now, she is proud to work at the Helsinki Committee, and to advocate for the rights of people belonging to the most vulnerable groups.

Her Excellency Mrs. Trine Skymoen is Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway to Hungary, also accredited in Slovenia.

In the past, Mrs. Skymoen has also worked as an Ambassador to South Africa and Slovakia, and has been active as a Senior Advisor at the Office of the Prime-Minister in Oslo and at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Oslo.

Máté Szalai is a Senior Researcher for the Institute of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

He also teaches at Corvinus University concentrating on international relations within Gulf regions, Middle East and North Africa. He was a visiting lecturer at Columbia University in New York. After returning back to Hungary, he published his book under the title of  The Foreign Policy of Smaller Gulf States: Size, Power, and Regime Stability in the Middle East.

Dr Zoltán Kelemen is a professor at Corvinus University of Budapest, Department of International Relations.

He has a Master’s degree in Medieval history and PhD in International Relations. In the past, he played an important role in the academic life of other prestigious institutes, like the Central European University and the Saint Ignatius Jesuit College for Advanced Studies, too. His main focus is on the history of law, neomedievalism and the rule of law in the European Union.

In the first episode of second season, we have talked about matters of the aforementioned topics, going into detail of the deeper meanings and effects of neomedievalism, what it could mean for global and large regional organizations like the United Nations or the European Union and whether this shift towards a neomedieval arrangement could be seen as a political or soft power tool.

In our last Podcast episode of the semester we invited Dr. Balazs Martonffy, who is a political scientist currently serving as the Director of the American Studies Research Institute in Budapest and a non-resident fellow at the International Center for Security and Leadership in Colorado. He previously was an assistant professor of security studies at Ludovika – University of Public Service. Balazs lectures at the Hungarian Diplomatic Academy and the European Security and Defence College, has taught at George Washington University and American University, and was a visiting researcher at the U.S. Air Force Academy. He has worked in the foreign and defense ministries.

Mártonffy Balázs shared his standpoints on current international security issues and international politics. Moreover, we talked about his colorful CV and career path which is outstanding, to say at least.

Nikolett Garai has been a research fellow at the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade for 5 years, a top Hungarian Foreign Policy think tank.

She expressed her view regarding the opportunities and challenges of the V4, current trends in Central Europe, alongside with the geopolitics of COVID-19.

Nikolett also shared her career path and how she ended up being a researcher, as well as a PhD student at Corvinus University. She is a former IDSA president, and it was a great pleasure to hear how IDSA helped her grow professionally, solidifying her interest.

Dmytro Tuzhanskyi is a political analyst and director of the Institute for Central European Strategy (Ukraine). 

Dmytro is a political scientist by training and ever since graduation from Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (Master’s degree in political science, European Studies) he has been professionally involved in three main areas: international relations, media and elections.

Dmytro has extensive experience on assessment of the domestic and foreign politics (mainly, European and Euro-Atlantic integration), political, social, economic, media and national minority issues, decision making processes, resilience and sustainability of communities and institutions, media environment, hybrid threats, human rights, electoral procedures, reforms, etc.

Lilla Bartuszek is the Secretary-General of V4SDG- Visegrad for Sustainability.

She  has been part of the V4SDG Family since May 2019, being in the  organizing teams for V4SDG’s previous forums and served as Exchange Lead  for the first Budapest Sustainability Exchange that took place in  September 2020. Lilla is also a member of V4SDG LAB, the first  sustainability expert community of the Visegrad Group.

She  is a firm believer that "by activating, connecting and inspiring agents of change around  our issue, we can move beyond top-down government leadership and make  the V4 an initiative built bottom-up by its various actors and  citizens."

In this podcast we are going to talk about sustainability, what it means to Lilla and what it takes to be a part of Visegrad for Sustainability community.
