"Empire Pictures" with Bret Berg and Ryan Gowland
Before Full Moon Entertainment, Charles Band gave us a wealth of cinematic excellence under the banner of "Empire Pictures". We're joined by BRET BERG (American Genre Film Archives) and RYAN GOWLAND (New World Pictures podcast) to determine which titles deserve preservation and which deserve immediate death at the hands of The Incinerator. Oh, and we threw in some new rules.

Mann-Splaining presents "Heat" with Darren Franich
It's here, finally dropped from behind the paywall! It's the final episode. When we embarked on this journey, we all knew one film had the greatest chance of standing alone. It seems fitting that a film named HEAT would survive the incinerator, and DARREN FRANICH and I take ALL the credit.

Mann-Splaining presents "Thief" with Darren Franich
It's here, finally dropped from behind the paywall! It's Episode 10. What happens when DARREN FRANICH and I attempt to mourn the great James Caan while also discussing his seminal classic? Well, as you might expect, we go into tangents that have nothing to do with either.

Mann-Splaining presents "The Insider" with Darren Franich
It's here, finally dropped from behind the paywall! It's Episode 9 and the film that made Michael Mann a legit awards threat, one of the most information-based thrillers ever made, THE INSIDER. How do DARREN FRANICH and I feel about yet another over-the-top Diane Venora performance?

Mann-Splaining presents "Collateral" with Darren Franich
It's here, finally dropped from behind the paywall! It's Episode 8. Can DARREN FRANICH and I finally find common ground with the film that cast Tom Cruise as a human silver highlighter? COLLATERAL is a fairly beloved film to most people, but we aren't like most people...

Mann-Splaining presents "Manhunter" with Darren Franich
It's here, finally dropped from behind the paywall! It's Episode 7. DARREN FRANICH and I have our starkest divide yet over the first attempt at adapting a Thomas Harris novel, the cold and calculating, MANHUNTER. This is where you have to choose sides - me or Darren - make your choice!

"Atlanta: The Series" with Chancellor Agard and Darren Franich
Few series have cemented themselves in the zeitgeist as "Atlanta" did. Its epic run on FX was one of the most celebrated in recent years. So - why not incinerate most of the best episodes just for the hell of it? We're joined by film journalists CHANCELLOR AGARD and DARREN FRANICH (both formerly of EW) to get to the bottom of a series with which both hosts are grossly unfamiliar. It's uncharted territory for The Incinerator!

Special Episode: "Film Podcasts"
During our mid-season break, we decided to record a special episode, where co-hosts Billy Ray Brewton and Ryan Verrill incinerate FILM PODCASTS. That's right - all your favorite film podcasts tossed into The Incinerator...all except for one. The rules are slightly different for this special episode, but rest assured the chaos will be sufficient. Will The Incinerator make the cut and potentially incinerate itself out of existence? Let's find out together...

Mann-Splaining presents "Miami Vice" with Darren Franich
It's here, finally dropped from behind the paywall! It's Episode 6. This might be the most DARREN FRANICH and I have been split over a Michael Mann film, which makes sense considering folks seem extremely divided over whether MIAMI VICE is shit or Shinola. Whose side are you on, peeps?

Mann-Splaining presents "Ali" with Darren Franich
It's here, finally dropped from behind the paywall! It's Episode 5 where DARREN FRANICH and I go one round with ALI and I have decided that is more than enough. This one has evidently developed some sort of cult, so you can consider us the cult killers. It's better than a Jon Voight political video!

Mann-Splaining presents "The Keep" with Darren Franich
It's here, finally dropped from behind the paywall! Episode 2 of MANN-SPLAINING, the second series of CUT AS YOU GO where DARREN FRANICH and I incinerate the oeuvre of MICHAEL MANN, week-by-week, until only one remains. Up next? As voted by you, our Patreon Army - the weirdest and wonkiest film in Michael Mann's career. Folks keep trying to reclaim it, but y'all can cut that shizz out. It's THE KEEP. Lord help us.
"Blumhouse" with Ryan McQuade and Mike Merrigan
When it comes to horror studios, few have achieved the kind of mainstream success and widespread recognition as Blumhouse, while also occasionally dabbling in more prestige output. So: it's only natural that we incinerate all that hard work with the help of MIKE MERRIGAN (Filmjitsu podcast) and RYAN MCQUADE (Awards Watch, InSession Film). They're joined (and thwarted) by engineer CHRIS THOMAS DEVLIN, screenwriter of the latest Texas Chainsaw Massacre film and the upcoming Lionsgate horror film, Cobweb. Hosted by Billy Ray Brewton and Ryan Verrill.

It's here, finally dropped from behind the paywall! Episode 2 of MANN-SPLAINING, the second series of CUT AS YOU GO where DARREN FRANICH and I incinerate the oeuvre of MICHAEL MANN, week-by-week, until only one remains. Up next? As voted by you, our Patreon Army - sexy ass Daniel Day-Lewis running around the woods with Wes Studi hot on his trail - it's THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS? How in the hell is this film already meeting The Incinerator? Your guess is as good as ours.
"90's Teen Comedies" with Billy Ray Brewton and Kenny Neibart
In our most unique episode this season, co-host BILLY RAY BREWTON steps into the role of competitor for the first time as he does epic battle with writer, producer, and former podcaster KENNY NEIBART over a topic near and dear to both their black hearts - 90'S TEEN COMEDIES. Will Billy Ray survive the nonsense he created or will Kenny drive him over the edge? Freshly minted co-host RYAN VERRILL mans the ship for this ridiculously fun aside. To vote for the winners, visit us at www.incineratorpod.com.
Mann-Splaining presents "Blackhat" with Darren Franich
It's here, finally dropped from behind the paywall! Episode 2 of MANN-SPLAINING, the second series of CUT AS YOU GO where DARREN FRANICH and I incinerate the oeuvre of MICHAEL MANN, week-by-week, until only one remains. Up next? As voted by you, our Patreon Army - a film about technology made by people who seem to have never owned a computer - it's BLACKHAT. Not even a Chris can save it.
"Single Location Thrillers" with Jay Krieger and Devaughn Taylor
You're all alone at home...there's a strange noise...shadows moving about...oh, it's just we fools at The Incinerator sending SINGLE LOCATION THRILLERS your way via JAY KRIEGER from the Daily Horror Habit podcast and DEVAUGHN TAYLOR from Specter Cinema Club. And producer of the pod, RYAN VERRILL, serves as engineer proxy. Everyone has their strong opinions on this topic and we promise you none of them will be reflected adequately here. This is just madness. To vote for the winners, visit us at www.incineratorpod.com.
Mann-Splaining presents "Public Enemies" with Darren Franich
It's here, finally dropped from behind the paywall! Episode 1 of MANN-SPLAINING, the second series of CUT AS YOU GO where DARREN FRANICH and I incinerate the oeuvre of MICHAEL MANN, week-by-week, until only one remains. Up first? As voted by you, our Patreon Army - a sleepwalking Johnny Depp with supporting actors carrying the load - it's PUBLIC ENEMIES. Come for the poor camera choice. Stay for a batshit Channing Tatum.
"The MCU" with Ben Haslar and Ryan Luis Rodriguez
Season 2 is providing our most controversial episode yet, as BEN HASLAR and RYAN LUIS RODRIGUEZ from the Reels of Justice podcast fan the flames of conventionality to incinerate the films of THE MCU. Causing havoc along the way is their podcasting co-host and Engineer ROBB MAYNARD. Everyone has their strong opinions on this topic and we promise you none of them will be reflected adequately here. This is just madness. To vote for the winners, visit us at www.incineratorpod.com.
"Songs from Coen Bros. Films" with Clay Keller and Ryan Marker
Season 2 of The Incinerator is here, and stepping into the flames for the first time as competitors - from the Screen Drafts podcast, it's CLAY KELLER and RYAN MARKER. In the first shake up to our initial formula, they'll be tackling "Songs from Coen Brothers Films" (a definition which shifts throughout). Producer of the pod, Ryan Verrill, also joins as proxy for The Engineer, who gets their hands on some insane new landmines. It's a weird and wild way to kick off the new season! To vote for the winners, visit us at www.incineratorpod.com.
OFF SEASON - CUT AS YOU GO SEASON 1 FINALE - INDEPENDENCE DAY with CLAY KELLER
CLAY KELLER (Screen Drafts podcast) helps us close out our inaugural CUT AS YOU GO series with a celebration of the 1996 blockbuster that changed the way disaster epics are made - Roland Emmerich's INDEPENDENCE DAY. Fourteen titles entered The Incinerator Thunderdome and only one remains and it co-stars Judd Hirsch.
ROUNDTABLE 2022 - FILMS OF 2022 with MITCHELL BEAUPRE, DAVID FEAR and WYNTER MITCHELL
When deciding the best films of 2022 (and who better qualified than The Incinerator Podcast), we felt it only fitting to invite three of the raddest cats around to lend their cinematic goods to a rowdy roundtable discussion: MITCHELL BEAUPRE (Letterboxd, The Film Stage), DAVID FEAR (Rolling Stone), and WYNTER MITCHELL-ROHRBAUGH ("Waiting 2 X-Hale" podcast). Buckle up and brace yourselves - WE GO LONG.
OFF SEASON - CUT AS YOU GO SEASON 1 - WHITE HOUSE DOWN and THE PATRIOT with J.D. DURAN and CHRIS THOMAS DEVLIN
J.D. DURAN (In Session Film podcast) wraps himself in a. blanket of freedom as he joins us to say 'farewell' to Roland Emmerich's pitting of Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx against the greatest threat against our Democracy...James Woods - that's right, it's WHITE HOUSE DOWN. And, CHRIS THOMAS DEVLIN (screenwriter, Texas Chainsaw Massacre) helps us dissect the pomp, circumstance, and inaccuracies of Roland Emmerich's most entertaining attempt at respectability, so get ready to say goodbye to Heath Ledger's dreamy eyes and Donal Logue's insane racism as we toast THE PATRIOT. And, yes, we go into the "Mel" of it all.
ROUNDTABLE 2022 - PERFORMANCES with CLAY KELLER, DANE MCDONALD and SCOUT TAFOYA
With most major awards associations having distributed nominations or awards at this point, it's time to hear from the experts on performances...or the folks who were available when we needed them: CLAY KELLER (Screen Drafts podcast), DANE MCDONALD (Chasing Chalamet), and SCOUT TAFOYA (RogerEbert.com). Which films will make the cut, and which ones will end the year languishing in obscurity? In three hours, you'll know the answers.
OFF SEASON - CUT AS YOU GO SEASON 1 - MOONFALL and THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW with MITCHELL BEAUPRE and THOMAS GRABINSKI
MITCHELL BEAUPRE (The Film Stage, Paste) joins us to discuss that moon...that just keeps on falling. Boy, does it fall. All over the damned place. Crazy old moon. MOONFALL might be one of the biggest box office disasters in history, but it definitely lives up to its title. And, THOMAS GRABINSKI (Watching Movies at the Bar podcast) joins us to answer the important question: does burning books in a library make Jake Gyllenhaal and Emmy Rossum Republicans? That's right - it's not yesterday...it's not today...it's not tomorrow...it's THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW.
ROUNDTABLE 2022 - DOCUMENTARIES with DREA CLARK, MARYA E. GATES and JENN WILSON
We're putting one of the four finals nails in the coffin that was 2022 with a roundtable devoted to the wide world of documentaries. Joining us are: DREA CLARK (Maximum Film! podcast), MARYA E. GATES (RogertEbert.com), and JENN WILSON (Film Independent). Which films will make the cut, and which ones will end the year languishing in obscurity? In three hours, you'll know the answers.
OFF SEASON - CUT AS YOU GO SEASON 1 - 2012 with HARMONY COLANGELO
HARMONY COLANGELO (This Ends at Prom podcast) joins us for an apocalyptic dive into the surprise smash hit that proved the Mayans right, and turned John Cusack into the limo-driving action hero of our dreams - that's right, it's 2012. Because who better to continue the human race than a bunch of white billionaires and Thandiwe Newton?!
OFF SEASON - CUT AS YOU GO SEASON 1 - STARGATE with DAVE SCHILLING
DAVE SCHILLING (The New Yorker, Los Angeles Times) joins us for a colorful discussion of Roland Emmerich's original IP that spawned a franchise and the androgynous crush of our dreams in Jaye Davidson - that's right, meeting the incinerator well ahead of its time, it's STARGATE. Let's dive into action hero James Spader!
OFF SEASON - CUT AS YOU GO SEASON 1 - UNIVERSAL SOLDIER with LESLIE BYRON PITT
LESLIE BYRON PITT (Fatal Attractions podcast) joins us for...a RoboCop rip-off? A zombie movie? Soft core Van Damme porn? You got it, it's Roland Emmerich's cannonball into the pool that is American cinema - it's UNIVERSAL SOLDIER. How does a film we loved as kids stack up against today's big budget action pictures? Is Van Damme the next Charlie Chaplin? There's so much to unpack here...
OFF SEASON - CUT AS YOU GO SEASON 1 - 10,000 BC with ALEXEI TOLIOPOULOS
ALEXEI TOLIOPOULOS (Finding Desperado, Total Reboot podcast) joins us for a trip back in time as we discuss (for better or worse) Roland Emmerich's baffling caveman flick, 10,000 BC, which also has aliens. Did Alexei love it, hate it, can't quite decide? You'll have to find out. One thing's for sure - NOTHING is for sure.
OFF SEASON - CUT AS YOU GO SEASON 1 - MIDWAY with JASON SHAWHAN
JASON SHAWHAN (Nashville Scene) salutes the stars and stripes with us as we tackle the bombastic, jingoistic dad movie to end all dad movies, the 2019 movie you probably didn't even know was a Roland Emmerich movie, MIDWAY. It's a lot of bland white dudes (including Nick Jonas with a mustache) exercising their patriotism, and Mandy Moore just sort of 'there'. It's, surprisingly, more successful than you'd imagine.
OFF SEASON - CUT AS YOU GO SEASON 1 - ANONYMOUS with MAUREEN LEE LENKER
MAUREEN LEE LENKER (Entertainment Weekly) joins us for a Bard-tastic lambast of Roland Emmerich's conspiracy-theory laden 2011 romp, ANONYMOUS, that surely had Shakespeare spinning in his grave. This is one of those rare Emmerich efforts where we don't have much positivity to heap on the picture, save for some of the performances.
OFF SEASON - CUT AS YOU GO SEASON 1 - INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE with DARREN FRANICH
DARREN FRANICH (Entertainment Weekly) joins us for an intergalactic eulogy to Roland Emmerich's epic sequel to the 1996 blockbuster, INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE. Though there's a lot to love about the bombastic silliness of this overstuffed gem, the incinerator called and RESURGENCE answered.
THE INCINERATOR FINALS with MITCHELL BEAUPRE, WILLIAM BIBBIANI, DREA CLARK and BRYAN COGMAN
It's here - The Incinerator finals - where we decide, once and for all, who has the highest tolerance for nonsense. Our cinematic gladiators? MITCHELL BEAUPRE (Letterboxd), WILLIAM BIBBIANI (Critically Acclaimed network), DREA CLARK (Maximum Film! podcast), and BRYAN COGMAN (Game of Thrones). The winner receives the title of FIRE PROOF and $500 towards the charity of their choosing. And YOU do the voting!
OFF SEASON - CUT AS YOU GO SEASON 1 - GODZILLA (1998) with GRAHAM SKIPPER
GRAHAM SKIPPER (host of the NIGHT SCHOOL podcast and Zilla megafan) joins us for a haunting eulogy to Roland Emmerich's first and only attempt at a pre-existing cinematic property that wasn't his own, the film that introduced Graham to Led Zeppelin - 1998's blockbuster, GODZILLA. Though there's a lot of goofy charm in this overstuffed ode to American military excellence, it didn't quite have what it takes to avoid the incinerator. Mourn with us.
OFF SEASON - CUT AS YOU GO SEASON 1 - STONEWALL with DANE MCDONALD
DANE MCDONALD from the CHASING CHALAMET podcast joins us for an in-depth discussion of Roland Emmerich's well-intentioned but problematic 2015 drama, STONEWALL, based on the 1969 riots that kickstarted the gay liberation movement. Even though it's the first title in Emmerich's oeuvre to fall victim to the incinerator, our eulogy will live forever.
TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS ROUND 4 with DREA CLARK, JORDAN COURTNEY, DAN MECCA and ERIC PEACOCK
The TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS presents its penultimate round of chaos as Drea Clark ("Maximum Film" podcast), Jordan Courtney ("Filmshake" podcast), Dan Mecca (The Film Stage), and Eric Peacock ("Soundtracker" podcast) hatch an elaborate scheme to incinerate HEIST FILMS. You do the voting, remember?

The producer of the pod, Ryan Verrill, serves as Engineer for this descent into madness. Only one competitor will emerge victorious and head to our Finals - which one will it be? The producer of the pod, Ryan Verrill, serves as Engineer for this descent into madness. Only one competitor will emerge victorious and head to our Finals - which one will it be? You do the voting, remember?
TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS ROUND 1 with BRYAN COGMAN, JASON KLEEBERG, KENNY NEIBART and ORIANA NUDO
It's here - our inaugural TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS. Round 1 finds Bryan Cogman ("Game of Thrones"), Jason Kleeberg ("Force Five" podcast), Kenny Neibart ("Podcast Like It's 1999" podcast) and Oriana Nudo ("Hollywood-ography" podcast) doing battle over DEAD, DEATH, DEADLY, DEATHLY (films with one or more of those words in the title). The producer of the pod, Ryan Verrill, serves as Engineer for this two hours of madness. Only one competitor will emerge victorious and head to our Finals - which one will it be? You do the voting, remember?

We're closing out the first season of The Incinerator with one of our most flammable topics yet - HORROR SEQUELS. And our combatants are up for the challenge - genre audiobook narrator SEAN DUREGGER, and DOUG MCCAMBRIDGE from the GOOD TIMES GREAT MOVIES podcast. 90'S ACTION with JORDAN COURTNEY and NICHOLAS LOUP
We're joined by two dudes who understand and love the 90's as much as anyone, and JORDAN COURTNEY and NICHOLAS LOUP from FILMSHAKE do, indeed, engage in epic 'hanging from a helicopter' battle over 90'S ACTION FILMS. They'll be guided, rewarded, and penalized the entire way by a super secret guest known only as "The Engineer". Over the course of a month, we posted numerous TWITTER POLLS all relating to the stars of the Grown-Ups films. The films that won those polls are battled about by patrons ROSS BRATIN and NICK RUDOW until only one remains. They'll be guided, rewarded, and penalized the entire way by a super secret guest known only as "The Engineer". The players won't know who's causing them so much grief, and neither will you, till everything is said and done. Co-hosted by Mitchell Beaupre.

They'll be guided, rewarded, and penalized the entire way by a super secret guest known only as "The Engineer". The players won't know who's causing them so much grief, and neither will you, till everything is said and done.
JENNIFER JASON LEIGH with SAM INGLIS and JASON SHAWHAN
Known for her burning intensity as an actress, JENNIFER JASON LEIGH feels like a proper 'first' for The Incinerator, seeing as how we've never inflicted this kind of damage on an individual before. Doing just that are SAM INGLIS (Hawke Talk Podcast) and JASON SHAWHAN (Nashville Scene), the two biggest JJL fans to ever JJL. They'll be guided, rewarded, and penalized the entire way by a super secret guest known only as "The Engineer". The players won't know who's causing them so much grief, and neither will you, till everything is said and done.
FOCUS FEATURES with CHRIS FEIL and JOE REID
Pride Month is hot, hot, hot as we dive into the illustrious, awards-laden legacy of FOCUS FEATURES with two queers who know their way around awards, CHRIS FEIL and JOE REID from the "This Had Oscar Buzz" podcast.
