13: The Overpopulation Myth, Climate Change, & Bad Letters
Sade and Dan discuss the overpopulation myth and how it ties into climate change, eco-fascism, and Harvard and Yale professors getting caught saying horrible things. They also touch on why people often mistrust the government and how race plays a role in all of this. Come for the science, stay to hear about Sade matching with antivax NBA players on Bumble.

11: Harvard’s Divestment Announcement, Ethical Investing, & Spock Ears
In this episode, Dan and Sade discuss divestment, investing ethically, and Dan’s beloved Spock ears. Focusing on Harvard’s divestment announcement, the pair talk about what socially responsible investing (SRI) looks like, is it even possible to invest ethically, and if people on Wall Street really care.
**Correction: Sade says something that alludes to the fact that Goldman Sachs guarantees returns with ESG funds; this is not correct. The primary ESG fund used by their team is meant to still track the S&P and thus give similar returns to the entire market.

09: Kibera (Part 1) — Non-Profits, Foreign Aid, and Being Helpful
In this episode, Dan and Sade discuss Kibera, Kenya, and providing foreign aid via non-profit organizations (NGOs). We also spend a few minutes discussing Texas; resources to donate and get help if needed are also linked below.
As a heads up, Dan’s mic is a little bad, so it’s a fun day to play “where in the world is Dan”? Let us know your guesses!

08: Carbon Footprints, Personal Responsibility, and BP
And we are officially back!
In this episode we talk about the concept of the carbon footprint and if BP really invented it as people TikTok keeps saying (they’re wrong), people misquoting studies to further their opinions, and what personal responsibility looks like in a global climate crisis. We also hear snippets about Dan’s experience writing for the IPCC, protesting and what that should look like, and what a world where we don’t worry about climate change could look like

07: Line 3, Pipelines, & Protesting
Thank you all for hanging with us as we’ve bounced around this summer. While our audio is a little off in this episode (Dan is in DC, Sade broke her mic), we think this episode is important enough to get out right now. Line 3 is actively threatening treaty lands & please use the resources below to take action if you can.

05: Climate Change Extremes, Personal Empowerment, & Environmental Racism
In this particularly casual episode, Dan and Sade discuss climate change, what it means for the world, and how to make a difference for the environment. This feels very timely as the ocean is quite literally on fire, so stick around to hear about Sade’s 5th-grade science fair project (making solar cells out of fruit with Dan’s help, obviously), how Dan’s views on climate change have changed, and Dan’s thoughts on what to do better and if the world is able to be saved.
We also wanted to say thank you so much for all of your support on this podcast — it means so much and we’re so excited to continue to keep having these conversations.

01: Introductions, The Obama Voice, & Frozen Rats
Content warning: mentions of suicidal ideations and mental health
Dan and Sade set the groundwork for the rest of the podcast by unsuccessfully attempting to set up ground rules before discussing their pasts. Important highlights include revealing who threw a frozen rat at a wall, who is mentally ill, and who (kind of) won a Nobel prize.

Episode 0: Coming Soon!
Welcome to Intergenerational, a medium-effort social-justice-oriented conversation between the hilarious (or so we think) dad-daughter duo of Dan and Sade Kammen. Each week, we'll discuss a new topic, focusing on the lenses of climate change (Dan) and race (Sade). We're so excited to bring you this open & honest conversation, and we hope that you enjoy!
