Intrepid Spirits Huddle

By Intrepid Spirits Huddle

Back when we had ignition, we had this tradition of having a Huddle every morning before an event day started. The purpose of the Huddle was to make sure we were all on the same team, all ready to go, and present and try to make sure we all had positive human energy by the end of the day. We are continuing these Huddles in hopes of bringing a little positive human energy to our listeners' days.

Take Charge: What Does Your Success Look Like?

Take Charge: What Does Your Success Look Like?

Success is looks different for everybody. For Dill and I, our measure of success has always been, “What are we doing to make a positive difference in peoples’ lives?”

In this episode, we share the model that we coached our children on, which we believes gives you permission to explore your passions while also honing in on your gifts and solidifying skills that you will take with you throughout your entire life:

Years 18-30: Explore.

Years 30-35: Dig in.

Years 35-55: Build stability.

Years 55+: Give back.

The most important question to ask is not, “Can I do it?” it’s: “When and how can I start?”

The Cherry Coke/Sega Sonic Shuttle

The Cherry Coke/Sega Sonic Shuttle

We never know where marketing lessons with Dill are going to go, but one thing is guaranteed - there will be takeaways that can be used in business today.

The Cherry Coke/Sega Sonic Shuttle started in 1993 and was so successful that it was repeated the following two years, 1994 & 1995. 33 markets, 1.74 million samples, 800,000 Sega Sonic game plays, and over 1 million incremental media mentions. This marketing program is an old idea that would be great in today’s world as people are starving for human touch now more than ever.

In this episode, we urge you to be creative about how you approach using physical marketing tools and where you find them - new is not always better, there are ways to bring old assets back to life that can be even more meaningful to audiences than something new.

From the Archives: The Coca-Cola Road Trip

A program that gave out 600,000 samples, traveled 120,000 miles and made over 20 million impressions per year. This program started early in the game of understanding the importance of giving a creative experience that you can't get anywhere else - it married music and sport and gave everyone in the family something to get excited about.

The lessons include: the importance of longevity, the impact of a t-shirt, and how the human touch makes such a difference when selling your product. It's about connecting to the brand and bringing that brand to life in a meaningful way.

So what's next? You've gotta be looking 1-5 years ahead.  Listen to the end to hear Dill's thought starter for the future!
