Carving a Walnut Ladle

Watch the video of this carving

Under quarantine in Indiana, we head into the shop for some green woodworking. This week we are making use of some black walnut we dropped out of our woos last fall, turning it into a nice ladle.   Be sure to like and subscribe if you'd like to get more videos from us in the future.

Iron Ram Forge is a blacksmith shop run by father and son pair Mike and  Ethan Yazel. The duo operates out of their dual story workshop they  built together on the family farm. In the basement they work in the hot  shop with metal and glass, on the second story they work with wood to  make carvings and furniture as well as fine hand engraving for jewelry  and historic accouterments.

It's a time thing

It's December 21st and we are still carving in Santa's Workshop. In this episode, we're chatting while whittling some smaller Santa clause figurines for the holidays. We talk about the late stage Christmas rush, why just about everything has become focused on the "Stuff", and 1959 bugeyes.
