Mr. Arkan Yousef was born in Iraq in the late 1950’s. Mr Yousef earned his bachelor’s in Mathematics and went on to teach Maths until 1999 when he and his family fled Iraq due to thedangers of staying through the Saddam Hussein Regime.  After fleeing Iraq, Mr Yousef surprisingly lost his sight for one year  which baffled doctors.   Nevertheless, this did not stop his enthusiasm and positive outlook on  life. Mr Yousef and his family migrated to Australia in 2006 where he  continued his studies.  He went on to volunteer in many schools and  colleges still teaching mathematics and to defy all odds Mr Arkan  Yousef went on to achieve & receive his Masters of Science  (Mathematics & Statistical Modelling), plus also doing his Masters in  Philosophy! Charlie is one of the first generation Indian Hip Hop dancers! He has appeared on many popular TV shows and has won many titles & awards! Charlie teaches dance in Delhi and various parts of India. Andre is a Youth Group Leader at Our Lady Guardian of Plants Church in Melbourne and soon to be ordained sub-deacon. He has immersed himself in church throughout his whole life. Andre also has a Bachelor of Science where he majored in physics and mathematics. We spoke about many topics that young people are facing in today's world. Darren is most famously known for producing the movie SAW. He has also produced movies like Corrections, Shotgun wedding, Brother’s Nest and most recently the film, High Ground. Darren is also the executive producer of the short-film GRACE, which he is currently working on with our very own Brian Patto who we had on the show last week. Brian is an award-winning commercial & film director. He’s created work for companies such as ANZ, Medibank, Coles and also shot an international GMC commercial in Dubai. Plus also created ads for the Australian Government.  Brian is currently producing a short film telling the tale of a young Christian girl and her father in Mosul, Iraq during a turbulent and dangerous time. Fadi Youkhana is an Epidemiologist, who received his Masters Degree at the University of Hawaii! His studies centred on how the wars in IRAQ affected people's health and education. Recently he’s been working on solutions for people affected by Covid-19 through the Public Health sector.

Fadi left Iraq when he was just a young boy and now resides in Colorado where he is doing his Ph.D. Earlier in his studies, he received a scholarship to do his bachelor’s in Biology & Journalism. He wrote articles for the local Hawaiian newspaper, while teaching & Lecturing. He has long resume anda  long list of achievements.

Born in Alqosh, Iraq. Dr. Adeeb went on to receive his Ph.D in Biochemistry at the University of Queensland after moving his family to Australia. His scientific research spans for over 30 years from diseases in animals such as koala’s to cardiovascular disease and cancer in humans. He’s a father of 4 and grandfather of 5.  Dr. Adeeb has been featured on TV shows such as Totally Wild, written about in the Who’s Who Magazine, had 40 publications in journals around the world and also received countless awards for his research. Dr. Adeeb is a member of Scientific Societies both in Australia and overseas. He was also a Lecturer for Medicine for over 15 years in UQ. He is worked and studied all over the world and is now enjoying retirement but continues to keep himself busy by holding leadership roles in St. Melkite Church in Brisbane. #selfbelief #nofear #faith #iraqichristian

His devotion is unquestionable as is his aspiration to become a priest. Dr. Andrew was born in Baghdad and migrated out of Iraq with his family when was still an infant. His journey took him across the world… to finally arriving in Australia in 2003. He went on to become a Family Physician and now practices in Sydney. He is also an Author, having recently published 2 books!

In 2006 Father Douglas was kidnapped by an Islamist group. He was tortured and released nine days later. He suffered multiple injuries including two broken vertebrae from his spinal cord and his face and knees were smashed using a hammer. An Ak-47 bullet still remains in his leg. He calls himself ''the Lucky Guy.'' Father Douglas never see himself as a victim or a hero. His concern is for the people that remain displaced and his mission is to help all the Christians in Northern Iraq. 

Sam is an internationally awarded professional Photographer who specialises in Weddings & Portraits. In this episode Sam speaks about his life-long passion with Photography, the Art in it and how you can create history with Photography. Claudia holds a bachelors & honours degree in Psychological Science. She currently works as a Behavioural Therapist for Children with Autism, where she specialises in Applied Behaviour Analysis. She is very passionate about her work with children and as a result is also doing her Masters in education in Applied Behaviour.

In addition to all that, Claudia is also a Youth Leader at the CWC group in Melbourne. 

Sara migrated to Australia as a young child and missed 5 years of schooling. She didn't let that be a burden, but rather used that to fuel her to be a successful leader in the Banking Industry. Sara leads one of Sydney's busiest Branches.
She has a great story to share. We talk about her journey, leadership, culture & faith.
