Today as we continue to celebrate women in the DFW area, we interview Jin Ya Huang, Founder of https://www.breakbreadbreakborders.com. This amazing organization is made up of refugee women that are able to provide for themselves and their families by cooking for a living alongside professional chefs, restaurants, caterers and culinary consultants. Celebrating Women Ep 13 Series with Sindhura and Misha of the Great Girls Network Jr.
Today as we continue to celebrate women in the DFW area, we interview Sindhura and Misha, creators of the Great Girls Network Jr. https://www.facebook.com/groups/343578312923710/ this group is centered around enabling young girls to come together in an encouraging and authentic way to lift up and inspire one another; they also encourage young girls to move beyond their comfort zones toward more of what they want and dream big!
This month the girls of GGN Jr. have put baking kits together to obtain donations for the Orchid Giving Circle which is a non profit organization or what they refer to as an "Asian Sisterhood" that provides grants and fosters philanthropy primarily within and for the North Texas Asian community.

Center to RIse is a Black Owned Mental Wellness Spa in Arlington, and YES, I said SPA. This spa provides a different approach to mental health that we are all ready for; some of those services are sound bowls, support groups, relationship meditation, soul empowerment sessions, energy healing and cleansing and so much more.

Celebrating Teen Pastry Lab
Today we are doing something a little different from our celebration of women in DFW; today we are celebrating the Teen Pastry Lab which is a group of teens that bake pastries for the community for a fee and 100% of those profits are donated to STEM learning for underserved communities. We had a great conversation with Lisa today as we discussed the teacher that inspired and encouraged her; she also shared her thoughts on why there aren't that many women in STEM careers, but why there should be. Today we are celebrating and interviewing Cassandra Hatfield, a Carrollton resident, tenured Texas educator, and a wife and mother of 2 that is currently running for the CFBISD school board of trustees. In this podcast we will hear about Cassandra's background in education; what kind of programs she would like to see put in place for the school district and what her thoughts are on how teachers are juggling educating our children in a pandemic. This was a great conversation that could have gone on for several more segments.

Celebrating Women Series Ep 2 The Orchid Giving Circle with Mylinh Luong
Today we are interviewing Mylinh Luong, one of the founding members of the Orchid Giving Circle. This foundation was started by Asian American women in the North Texas area that wanted to support and represent the Asian community by connecting professional Asian women to lead as role models. In May of 2015 the Orchid Giving Circle was launched and modeled after many successful Asian giving circles around the country. They help support other non profits that are doing great work in the community and want to focus on "giving where we live". Today we are interviewing Jan Tennyson, the founder of Dare to Dream Children's Foundation. This foundation focuses on at risk youth between the ages of 10-18 that live in shelters, foster homes, group homes, detention centers and orphanages. Ms. Jan knows what that life is like because she was abandoned as a baby and grew up in a few foster homes.
