The End of All Things - Part Six of Collaborative Story Building
On this episode, the cast share the last arcs of the campaigns that they have been building for over a year. Joe's Agents of Zodiac meet their match during the tense final moments of their heist, and the outcome of this final battle may well change the course of humanity for thousands of years to come. War has come to the Solar System we call home as Hunter's party must gather every resource they can to mount a desperate defense against the Bulyak invaders. Kelci's students weigh sacrifice against duty, a decision that could leave them without the only person they all look up to as a mentor.
We at The Fourth Leg want to thank all of you for taking the time to listen along to our campaigns as they've grown and progressed into the stories they have become. We are all humbled by the support and hope that all of the upcoming content we plan to make continues to entertain you and enrich your Tabletop experiences at home!

Oh, How The Plot Thiccens - Part Four of Collaborative Setting Building
CW: These settings have been in development for months, and as such contain some themes that we did not anticipate paralleling reality. Themes of war, government overreach, and the moral implications of imperialism are present in this episode. The Invasion of Ukraine is something that we at The Fourth Leg unilaterally oppose, and as such we encourage you to assist in any way you can with relief efforts. See this link for one charity accepting donations, or seek out other ways to assist as you see fit.
In this episode our hosts revisit their campaigns to end our season! The twisting lies and dirty dealings in a magical university make Kelci's party the target of forces they don't fully understand. Joe's Agent's of Zodiac uncover an earth-shattering revelation before being thrust into a life or death situation that forces them to look in the mirror and answer the question, "Who are we, really?" Hunter's party prepares for an inevitable war while walking a tightrope between martial ability and social morality, all the while rushing headlong into an unprecedented conflict.
Being that this is the end of our second season, we want to thank all of you who listen to this show for your support! All of us hosts came into this project to create a space to share our ideas and instead we have found more support than we could ever have imagined! We got ENGAGED...to our players :) - A Discussion on Player Engagement and Managing the Spotlight
A QUICK ANNOUNCEMENT: In this episode, Hunter recommends a game called Dungeon World. At the time of recording he was not aware who the writers for that game were, even though he was aware of their recent transgressions. The Fourth Leg and its hosts want to make it clear that we fully support the agency and autonomy of our players, and fully reject that writer's actions. The segment will stay in the show as both a reminder for anyone interested in DW, and to give you the opportunity to experience the game for yourself should you choose to. Thank you all for listening, and we hope you find enjoyment and safety in any game you play.
In this episode Joe, Kelci, and Hunter are joined by Ian, the storyteller for Shrimp & Crits! They come together to discuss how to keep players engaged at the table during sessions, how world building can engage players, and where to find cute videos of sloths. Ian also gives some amazing insight into Monster of the Week and how many of the lesson taught there can translate seamlessly into Dungeons and Dragons!

Inspiration, and why it totally ISN'T Theft!
CW: Brief mention of suicide
On this episode of The Fourth Leg, our hosts are joined by Jake from Faded Quill Gaming to discuss one of the most important parts of worldbuilding...Inspiration! We find this to be a more nuanced discussion due to many people not knowing how to find the line between being inspired by something and stealing ideas. The crew attempts to clarify the distinction without straying too far off topic...that second part doesn't go too well.

Describe Me like one of your French Settings - Narrative Voice and the Power of Description
This week The Fourth Leg welcomes Lex from Path of Night to discuss imagery and it's importance to story telling. Whether you're playing in a fantasy Dungeons and Dragons game, a Sci Fi Star Wars Campaign, or the political mysteries of Vampire the Masquerade it is critically important to avoid the blank spaces that so often fill our imagination in the absence of description. In layman's terms, we're talking about how to make the setting interesting for everyone at the table! Come along as we discuss potatoes, music, and Hunter's ignorance on the topic of classic cartoons from the 60s.

Figure Eights - Navigating Mental Health at your Table
CW: Some discussion of Sexual Assault and other sensitive content
This week Hunter, Joe and Kelci are joined by Sam from Roleplaying and Rollplaying to discuss table talk and mental health. Games like Dungeons and Dragons, Genesys, Fate Core, Vampire the Masquerade, etc. are great outlets for self expression, but they can also touch vulnerable topics for the players participating. This episode sets out to provide context and functional advice for keeping your table's communication healthy and considerate for all participants in your game!
Discussions of mental health can be difficult, so we all encourage listeners to step away if this episode touches on topics that are sensitive for you. Please, take care of yourself and don't allow this episode to negatively impact your day.

Anything but a Tavern - Part One of Collaborative Setting Building
In this episode Hunter, Joe, and Kelci get together to discuss their original campaign settings. This episode marks part one of a series of episodes that are separate from the typical discussion formats that the typical episodes follow. Throughout these off-type episodes, listeners will be joining the crew as they develop their campaign's story and setting from intro-levels to the final conflict. Episode one is the former, with the table discussing their ideas on how to start everything with a fresh crew.
We have only one simple request of the listeners following along and making their own stories....anything but a tavern.

Examining Concept, Tone, and...Other Stuff
On this episode, Kelci, Hunter, and Joe are joined by Calvin Johns. Calvin is a game designer out of Austin that publishes under the name Anthropos Games (@anthroposgames) and has some awesome products available that you can check out here. Calvin joined us to discuss Concept and Tone, specifically their importance to your world building and campaign writing, but...we got a little off track. But hey, what's a little genre slander between friends, right?
Anyways, we hope you enjoy the episode today! If you have any comments, feedback, or questions you'd like us to discuss on air please email us (@thefourthlegpod@gmail.com) or reach out to us on twitter. We appreciate your continued support, and we'll see you again in two weeks!
