We are OFFICIALLY in the holiday season. For some people, it the most wonderful time of the year! For others...it's yet ANOTHER reminder of the pain and struggles of the season.
Grief is HARD already, but add to it a time of year that's LITERALLY built to celebrate and be around family, and it could be a recipe for disaster. Almost one year ago we lost a legend in Kobe Bryant.
Many people began to grieve someone they had never met, and some found themselves wondering why… Yet it is completely normal to grieve someone you looked up to, who had an impact on your life – whether they knew it or not!
This is a perfect time to talk about how real anniversary triggers are. We want to help you navigate through these anniversaries and know that what you are feeling is very real. It’s how you process it that will help you come out better on the other side
This week I had the pleasure of co-hosting with Dwight A. Bennett II, a School Counseling Master's Student as Western Michigan University. Dwight was able to offer his expertise as both a mental health advocate and professional, as well as a black man who was deeply impacted by the death of Kobe Bryant.
