A Fig Tree by any Other Name
Like a good shepherd…
Psalm 23
1 John 3:16-24
John 10:11-18
On the fourth Sunday of Easter Jesus tells us about the Good Shepherd and the Hired Hand. Now, it’s easy to get lost in trivial things, but with a little bit of thought, and contimllaton, it’s easy to find the path back.

Through the eyes of a child
Today-well, yesterday, was St.Francis’s feast day, and that is my church’s namesake, so I’m pivoting. The reading was Matthew 11:25-30, go read it. Because what I had originally wrote is NOTHING like this one.
However, I was in church, and with my kids, watching them, I found something else in the Gospel. I’m subjecting you to it as I sit in a parking lot in front of a Red Robin. Suffer.

The Fear Factor
This past weekend was a doozy; I was laid up with a pain that took me to the hospital on Friday, crippled me on Saturday, and kept me moaning all of Sunday. Monday and Tuesday were likewise a wreck, and finally.. today... I am pretty good. I mean, I am not 100%, but I am solid.
The story of Jesus walking on water and Peter trying to join him is a classic that I think nearly everyone has heard. If not, you can click here and read all the readings this past Sunday.
I would love it if you could share this episode if you like it, and give me some stars, maybe respond to the question.
Oh, the Possibilities
This week, in church, I'm gonna hear about the Transfiguration, which I'll touch on in an episode later this week, ( Subscribe!) But this is the tenth week after Pentecost. We're going over probably one of the most famous of the Jesus Tales. the Feeding of the 5000. Let's be clear, I love miracles, but not because of magic. it's about the miracle of compassion, of sharing. opening up the hearts of those there to feed everyone, not some miraculous limitless Lunchable. The possibilities though, with an open heart?
Preparing for the Tenth Sunday after Pentecost!
I really want to thank you for sunbscribing and please tell be if you ahve anything you'd like an episode about!
right now I am off to the urgent care, but i will keep people posted and i will try to get healthier as fast as i can.

Reflecting on the Ninth Sunday after Pentecost Aug 1st, 2023
In this reflection, we complete the story in Genesis about the struggle between Jacob and Laban. It gets real, folks. Who needs a soap opera? Also, we consider the "Armor of God." A tough subject I might have to make an extra podcast about. Let me know what you think.
As always, Here are all my Links.
Reflecting on the Ninth Sunday after Pentecost, July 31st, 2023
Today we have readings reflecting Sunday's readings and message. There is no sermon but look for a thread of similarity in the readings from Sunday and those going on through Wednesday. Then we will begin to prepare ourselves for next Sunday's readings.
As always. Here are my links.
Take care of each other! Thanks for Subscribing! Any content you think would be a good addition? Let me know in the comments.
Do You Got It?
It's the ninth Sunday after Pentecost, and I got it recorded late; I promise I will get better at this stuff. ( can I get worse? probably.) Anyhoo. The gospel I am focused on today is from the Gospel of Matthew 13:31-33, 44-52. The other readings and the Collect are here. And then, for those that Subscribe (you've subscribed, right?), you can listen to the daily readings starting tomorrow. I am going to start thinking about topics to deep dive on. So if you have any ideas, leave a suggestion!

Neck Deep in Weeds....
As always, here are the readings for today, the 8th Sunday after Pentecost.
Here are all my links. And I wanna say thank you to everyone coming aboard this journey, some of you are new, and I hope to earn your follow, maybe even your subscription!
Today is pretty straightforward, I read the lessons and I saw a call to arms in a very Jesus way. being surrounded by hate, selfishness and pride, misinformation, disinformation, and worse, how do we keep ourselves intact? I think Jesus is making a promise. Don't forget to check back regularly, I think I will start sharing the readings daily if I can manage it. Make it part of my morning routine, so to speak. So, if you are subbed, you can listen to the daily lessons! Sounds interesting, and we'll see where we go from there. as always. Love you all, and take care of each other.
And after a month...Then Gardening with Jesus
There's a lot I have to say happened that I didn't put in the Podcast 1. I got a civil union with my lovely lady ( literally, the reason I took to podcasting, to begin with. ) 2 Father's Day was Father's Day. I spent that entire weekend with all the kidlings I could be with 3. I got sick because of all the smoke from Canada. I had reasons, but I didn't post anything on the web page. So I failed on many notes. - come to think of it, I still need to learn how to use that website. WordPress is more complicated than I thought. So, I ran through my issues with Matthew 10;1-42, which brings us to today. Here are the Readings for yesterday.
And as for this week? looking for a daily reading routine? Here's my favorite site. it follows the same lectionary I use for this podcast!
as always, I want to hear from you and i want to know what's going on out there! so let me know! talk to me!
Matt is on the Mic
I just want to say that I appreciate you for coming and listening. And I know it has been a rough year, and I am trying to come together and get better too. So thank you. If you feel like this is content you want to continue, please subscribe, share and let me know!
The Rumors, The Fear
Never wanted to be a Cool Kid.
First Lesson: Acts 1:6-14 Psalm: Psalm 68:1-10, 33-36 Second Lesson: 1 Peter 4:12-14, 5:6-11 Gospel: John 17:1-11 Listen, people! it takes roughly a day to make one episode, and I wanna do more, but I gotta bust my butt out on the roads! Consider Subscribing so I can do more of this! (remember, I'm donating a solid bit of all I make to groups and organizations that help and protect the marginalized in our world.)
I talk about fashion this week, and I tap into CSI for some reason. Hell, I think I mention the band "The Who." You should definitely listen to the end and take the quiz. lol
anyways, here are All my Links and such. talk to you next episode, which is going to be Pentecost, 2023.
So I Can Ask for Anything?
I think I should include a collect (weird starting prayer). What do y'all think? Anyways... the readings for today are fun.
The first lesson is from the Acts of the Apostles. Acts7:55-60, in which Stephen gets hauled off and stoned to death- he shouts, "Lord, Don't hold it against them!" people are going to be people, and let's face it, if it isn't self-serving, familiar, and justifying the worst of behaviors, people don't like hearing it. And Stephan had some shit to say!
Psalm 31:1-5, 15-16 AGAIN WITH THE SKIPPING! It's pretty, read it.
The second lesson is from 1 Peter 2:2-10 Peter pretty much speaks to the Gentiles and says "God loves you too, now, I guess, that's pretty cool..."
But again, I am working on the Gospels. John 14:1-14 has Jesus talking to those disciples again and the back and forth has some frustrating things in there. Let's talk about them.
Anyone Here Got Mint Jelly?
There are sheep everywhere, and I love mutton stew! What is this Podcast going to come to? Today's lessons are from Acts 2:42-47, which is all about " Hooray, look at all the people being Christian! (Today's Mainliners would hate them...) Psalm 23 is mocked and done weirdly because being humble and finding peace is not the Bro-God Way. "Must Be Bad-Ass to Hide Little Willy! Where's mah Protein Shake? Hurrrrrg, 'Murica!" In the First Letter of Peter, dude postulates that Christians don't suffer to suffer and take shit on the chin. Revenge is not the way. This is the Way.
Then we have Jesus, as written by John, which John, we don't rightly know. But with a bit of antisemitism, because the disciples aren't allowed to understand anything, Jesus has to explain that "He is the Way" in a very Greek philosophical sort of way- let's talk about that shit for a minute, shall we?

Who Dat?!
It's the third week of Easter, and according to my writing app, I have written over 10,500 words in the last week, which is ridiculous and has nothing to do with describing this episode to you. Third Sunday, right? We have two readings from the New Testament if you follow the Liturgy. (Here is what I read.) So, that's a fun thing. And I thought about how often I have seen people miss things right in front of their faces. ( not including the keys that I lost on my person. Again. For the eighth time this week already.)
So, hop on board and remember, I love hearing from all of you. Here are my Links. And check out my Schedule for Twitch. See you Tuesday the 25th for some Hearthstone and Tunisian crocheting( or something along those lines.)

Funny thing about this area of the world. It's deceptive. Jesus was two hours walk from Lazarus. Lazarus and his sisters lived just down the hill from Jerusalem. Palm Sunday, the day Jesus enters that city, is next week. so here we are. what does the story of Lezarus tell you?

I've been sick and still recovering. I missed last week because of it. And sort of sad about it. But that's out of my control. Ickiness!
So, today's reading is Matthew 5:21-37, and it's the sixth Sunday after the Epiphany; next week is the last Sunday before Lent. That means we have shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, and all that coming there. so, if you subscribe, you'll get more explanation about Shrove Tuesday (or mardi gras) and different traditions. An Ash Wednesday Episode and then the regular episode on the 26th! I was also thinking of highlighting the saints and important figures of Christianity for the Subscribers as well so... Subscribe here?
Shut Up! Listen! You Hear That?
Fourth Sunday after Epiphany and I can't believe it, I'm on time! Listen, Linda, I don't want any of your sass.

Transformed from a Crotch Goblen?
Chrismas is almost here, and I haven't finished anything save for catching up! Oh, man! What a week! Let me tell you guys, I spent seven bleeding hours at a mall with my sweetie, and I gotta say it was tiring fun, and I think we worked out a lot of past issues from prior relationships. Transformative work is what this season is all about, and I have to say, for Christmas, there is nothing better than the joyous and innocent spirit of these holidays. I hope you've gone over to Spotify and given this five stars, if you haven't already, and I hope you share this podcast with your friends, neighbors and everyone that could use this message of inclusivity and love. Remember, all are welcome.
Don't forget to follow me on all the respective social medias! This is getting real now, folks! Love ya!
