A Message For The Class of 2020...
Just some thoughts that might help the young people navigate these new experiences they are about to undergo as graduates.
My Experience With COVID-19.
I talk about my experience with having COVID-19 for most of this past April.
This Is America.
I speak about COVID, the importance of where we as a nation are with regards to racism / police brutality and I stress making our voices heard in a final push to salvage this nation.
"Study Long, Study Wrong."
I explain where I've been over the past month and how I had to force myself to get out of my own way. You should too.
Who's Going To Care For the Caregivers?
I speak frankly and openly about the job of EMS as it relates to its practitioners' mental health. TW: Suicide is discussed during this episode.
Chicken sandvwiches and the loss of common decency.
I speak about how a certain, fast-food restaurant's new sandwich directly benefited from going viral via Black Twitter and how common decency seems to be lost these days.
Catching up.
Catching you guys up on everything 'me' related.
The (Often-Inverse) Relationship Between Self-Care and Masculinity.
I talk about how society views men a being less than masculine in regards to self-care. I also detail my first experience getting a pedicure and close with a quick talk on toxic masculinity and how our lack of all-around self-care both contributes to it and is a symptom of it.
The Maturation of Hip-Hop. Looking at the art-form with middle-aged eyes.
I speak on how I feel about Hip-Hop's maturation. (The rappers themselves, themes, interests, buisiness ventures, health, mortality, etc)
"Y'all ain't Latino!"
My cuz, Randell Burns and I talk about the difference between race/ nationality/ ethnicity and we share our experiences of growing up as Afro-Costaricans here in the U.S. We move on from there to a discussion about NBA free agency then onto who we're currently following on social media, finally closing with what Ran and I are doing on a regular basis to help preserve our individual mental health.
