New Year, New Lewk, New Paige

Joanna has two new guests Mina and Joan in the absence of Neal to talk about the fun new K-Drama True Beauty. We go through all of their favorite characters, zaniest moments and the cameos from "Extraordinary You". They massively giggle about the two male love interests and both Joanna and Mina suffer severely from Second Lead Syndrome. All the while they discuss common k-drama tropes and why this series distinguishes itself from others. It's a comical time with some k-pop related hot topics that you won't want to miss. 

Neal and Joanna finish their saved by the bell discussion with a fun buzzfeed quiz. Then they spiral into the 3rd episode of Rupaul's Drag Race Season 13. 

Neal and Joanna go a little heavy on hot topics like the inauguration, celebrity couples and Joanna going on and on about search party with zero details. They finally get to the new Peacock TV's Saved By the Bell reboot where they revisit Bayside high but this time Douglas High a nearby inner city school will now be sending their kids to the super affluent Bayside. They compare the old to the new and dive into each character. The talking went on for 2 hours so this episode had to be split into 2. 

Riding off of Zendaya's Emmy win for her role as Rue Bennet, Neal finally watches EUPHORIA! Joanna watches Euphoria a second time and maybe not too sure about the series but commends all the performances. They discuss personal triggers and trauma from the show, while anticipating two more holiday episodes from HBO. 

Neal and Joanna jump back to the millennium into the cheerleading classic "Bring it on". A teen comedy with bitchy banter and homophobic humor that made both Neal and Joanna more than uncomfortable. As much as they love Kirsten Dunst, Gabrielle Union and Eliza Dushku... this viewing left them cringing and asking why this was so enjoyable back in the year of 2000. One thing we do know the movie got right is that we all take/steal from black culture! This marks the end of the 5th week in quarantine so as our spirits are tested with "spirit fingers", we still manage to discuss live broadcasts for stay at home viewing and get into a tiff about the show Glee... DRAMA! not really, we're just all going nuts!

Joanna's sister Gina joins the pod to talk the 90's teen cult classic "Empire Records". We look back at Gina's grunge phase in the 90s and childhood friday nights spent loitering at blockbuster and wendy's.  Join these sisters as they walk down memory lane through every influential scene from the movie, their witch obsessions and major teen-bop heartthrobs.
