In this episode, I talk with Griffin Hurd. Griffin is a CPA and partner at Brixey & Meyer who works within their transacation advisory group. Griffin helps buyers and sellers that are contemplating a transaction with the financial due diligence process.
Financial Due Diligence is much more extensive than simply evaluating a balance sheet and income statement. This process is intended to tell the story of the business to determine what that company is truly worth.
Griffin dives into their process and walks through what do look for regarding a company's financials.

In this Edisode of the Financial Incline, we talk live with Phil Eleson about the process of buying a business. Phil is an experienced business broker who has bought and sold businesses in the past and helps his clients through this process.
During our discussion we talk about how Phil helps his clients find businesses to buy and where he markets his businesses for sale. We discuss how difficult it may be to find a business directly to buy and how long it takes to purchase a business.
Lastly Phil shares great insight into the trends he is seeing in the small and middle market around businesses that have been selling. He shares which industries have the most activity and what valuations we are currently seeing. Lastly, he shared some of the concerns facing business owners today.
