Since riding in a bike-a-thon at 8 years old to his current status of unofficial “Mayor of Cape Cod”, Jonathan Thompson has been a force in his community. From performing in a local R&B group as a teen to creating the popular social media show “JT Chronicles”, he has captured the hearts of Cape Cod residents and beyond. In the early 90’s, after his performing career came to an end, Thompson decided to begin a new chapter and teamed up with lifelong friend, Tim Lus (who he met on that bike-a-thon ride as a kid) as well as others and began a journey which has provided entertainment in several

Erase the wait; JT Talks with Big Brothers Big Sisters

What's happening is JT listening. To the carnivals. Welcome to the J Chronicles podcast. And actually get to see my face today too. So if you're watching this mom hope this is. My good side and. It's all about positivity. I'm here today with Big Brothers Big Sisters Foundation and Jay out and Deb. How are you?

Guys doing well. Thanks so much for coming.

Oh, my God, no thank. You, man, this is important and. We're on the Cape and keeping. Eyes all over what we're talking about. Yeah, but how many people are needed? How many kids need a mentor? So we'll just set this up. Us a little bit of information. What's going.

So we're actually kicking off our campaign for the spring, called erase. The wait. There are about 72 kids as of today. So, you know another couple of. Weeks will be higher. Kids, girls and boys that are waiting for a mentor. So we're really trying to recruit adults to step up, have the community step up and. Be a mentor and be a positive. You know additional positive influence in these children's lives, and so we're really hoping to hear the word and get everybody out there to do it. I've done it in the past. It's a wonderful experience. I think the adults actually. Take a lot. More out of it than the little does.

Yeah, I bet. So now just so. May get involved.

He told the regional. Director for the Cape and Islands I work with Deb and the rest of the team to make sure that we're we're meeting the goals and you know, really putting our name out there for the kids who could benefit. From having a mentor.

This is good. So erase the weight. We're talking about right before, but you know before we. Started shooting in. But since you said I just from starting at 6% you said. What? When you first started?

So one of the big needs that we're seeing right now are for kids who are being raised by their grandparents or aunt and uncle. Yeah, non custodial adult. There's a huge increase in that. Absolutely. So right now that's number sent at 33% of our 400 kids.

There's a lot.

That's incredible, right?

What's happening, Hi its JT you’re Watching the chronicles. It is all about positivity. Got my honeydew starting right off with that. Excuse me Be careful, of course. Be thankful you're awake. Be thankful. First and foremost, anything. I'm loving this energy I have. I'm loving these goals that are happening because you guys don't put. Two dates you guys have no time frame. You know I had to do that because if I didn't have a time frame I would just keep dragging things on and I would drag and I would procrastinate and I'd drag until. I was there night due tomorrow school. I would do that do tomorrow and I'm now now I gotta wash some cramming everything. I'm supposed to pay that man and I have nobody to get mad at. But you know what I knew it was coming. So I have to now I set alarms I set date. I put posters up on my my vision board, my vision board next to my bed like this has to be paid by this date. So I'm gonna chop away at it little by little. You gotta test chop away little by little. I'm going to lose weight, I'm. Chopping away little by little. I didn't like where I was before. Think about where you are right now. Are you where you wanna be and be honest. Are you where you want to be? Right now, if you're not- OK. But you can do something about it. How do I know that? Because you're alive and you're looking at me watching me, so that means you have a it's which means you're alive. You're alive to do this you understand that so you do. Have a chance. Give yourself a date. If you need. To put somebody's name next to it, you know, I just heard that you know what I wanna do. This date I wanna do it for my mother. I can tell my mother you know what I did this and I upgraded. To this mom I made to this day and but you know what? Because I'm holding some. I'm holding myself accountable. Because there's a motion attached to that, and I don't want to disappoint, I don't wanna disappoint myself and I'm gonna I'm not gonna blame anybody else for the reason why I can't do it if I haven't even tried. So look at where you're at right now. Give yourself a date on certain things you want to go back. To school, good for the date. What do you need to do to get there? Wanna pass these bills? Give yourself a date. Put it right there. When I clean the house before Christmas, put a date, there's your family and friends coming over. Do that. But hold itself accountable, make it meaningful. Put yourself in the next place, all right. You can do this. I have faith in you can do this. Alright, I'm going to go walk into therapy. I need to do this because. I need to keep getting myself better. Day by day, but I'm chopping away at it alright I love you man it's one love, one family, one community love this video like this video. Share this video. Share these chronicles. Leave me a message below. Let me know what you think. Share it with somebody that might need this and I keep falling guys love you, please.

I Fell Many times- but I get up- so can you

I Fell Many times- but I get up- so can you

What's going on with JT? Watching the chronicles, it is all about positivity. I haven't I have to get back into my videos and and I know I've been falling off a little bit because. I've been doing therapy for like. Pain and all kinds of stuff. So I've been up and down and it's not easy to reset. I've had days man, I'm just like. No, I don't want to do it today, I don't. Wanna do this today? I don't wanna go to bed. They have to remember that. I was blessed today. I was given a gift today. To wake up. I gotta get back up. I get back on my grind I gotta get back on on my routine and that's what helps me being on a routine. When I get on every. Teen I see more things happen for me. And I I avoid certain things, I avoid certain people I I avoid, you know. Looking at too much social media and stuff like that and it puts me in such a better place. Man it's like but I have those days and it just it just brings me down and I and I have that. Well my car my. Car just stopped up the earthquake. But yeah, getting getting myself back on it, you know that routine helped me so much. I think we all need a routine. It kind of helps steer us and and I I learned a while ago and after you know and reset myself when you're focusing too much on you know. Of the negative things and want to like share that negativity? All you do. Is just follow right into it. You know what I mean? So all the energy you spend on telling somebody else how bad they are or or did you hear about so and so? Or what about this one about that? Like all the energy you could be using for yourself? Oh my God, how far could you go? How much further could you go if you actually just took some of that same energy and put it on yourself and developing yourself? That's what I do. I had to do that and I gotta reset my fall. Trust me I fall I fall I. Fall and get back up. And I feel good. And then I fall again. I fall again I. Fall again and I get back up. But I love it because I'm not going. To give up, so don't give up. To get all. That negative stuff over there don't carry that stuff. Don't carry that that that hate away all that stuff and you don't need it. You don't deserve it. You have another day. I love you man. Let me know what you feel. Let me know. How you're feeling today alright? I love you. Share this with somebody because they might need it. You might need it. What's happening message? JT, You're watching the chronicles. It is all about positivity. I love getting up early in the morning. I'm gonna tell you why in a second. The first, because they're deep breath men because they know so many guys just either egg getting up to go to work, or you're you're just getting home from work, or you're in the middle of the day, so they got. Deep breath. Let all that negativity out. From where you are right in your chair, in the car, in the bedroom, in the bathroom chair, have a deep breath. Let all that anger out and all that stress out and all that. Negativity out. One of the reasons why I love getting up early in the morning is because. Sometimes, especially now with everything going on and and you have to do this or you have to go here or or work or money or business or school. Just life. I get that anxiety sometimes. And you're calling, not Kitty. Not you, you're you're always. This is more things going on now, but you hear so much, that's why excuse me, I've had to to push my way. You know, pushing myself away from the news and TV and all. That stuff and. And focus more on me right now. Because I need to get. Myself back on the track. So I need that time in. The morning by myself. To to meditate to be focused to look at what I'm doing. You know, physically, emotionally, spiritually. You know and get myself where I want to go and start reading a little bit more. You know, picking up different different books of of self help and and different things like that because it's helped me in the past and now I need to. So I need to go back and revisit. What put you where you are right now? You know what helped you before? Maybe was a person that you spoke to maybe was maybe you start to listen to certain music, maybe started working out more and whatever you need to do. So I have to do that and reset myself to myself and that that pumped up that? OK, let's go. Let's go let's go mode. And I find myself being able to become stronger. You know, and you can't really talk about it to a lot of people because. Everybody has their own different. Different, you know thoughts, but to find out what works for you. Take a steps and maybe you don't tell anybody what you're going through, because that can confuse you a lot. Different ideas, different my whole man. You don't need to worry about that. Don't this is what this is where you're at. So you need to figure out what's important for you and do one thing at a time. OK, do one thing at a time and conquer that. Your future. What you do now? Determines the future a lot of ways. Take that time I'm going to be focused. I'm going to be set. I do it sometimes a couple times during the day. And you guys can. Do that and me. Getting up early and setting my tone for the day that helps me, so I've actually gotten up earlier so I could do this. Because I remember. How much better I felt when I did it that way? It's easy, 1520 minutes earlier than before. You have to go to work. Or before you have to get up. For the kids. For school or before you have class. Takes some time for you. No media, none of the outside stuff, just you. What kind of day do you want to have? What are you going to do? Follow through on what you said. Don't talk about it anymore, just focus and do it. Just go ahead and do it. Alright, you got this. I got this. We got this. I can't wait to see what else you're going to do. I can't wait to see what I'm going to do. I love you man. One love, one family, one community so love this video you like this video you share this video. It's a little bit longer video, I'm sorry if you don't have time, but maybe. You know what? Watch it. Later, alright, I love you guys, peace.

Best Kept Secrets; Andrew Jamiel talks with JT about putting in the work

Andrew Jamiel knows what hard work is!

JT talks with this DY and Stonehill graduate from Cape Cod that is putting in the reps and is still playing football on his terms.

Andrew started playing at seven years old and quit.

Granted, he went back at 8 with the mindset to push through and be his best.

The football beast mode runs in the family with his father, Ardeo's owner, and baller himself graduating from Brown University. It is easy where Andrew gets his roots of drive and hustle.

Jamiel had played for Quevo's FCF team and is even in continued talks with the Patriots.

He is about to race Terrell Owens and even shared some advice from Richard Sherman- " you can make it from anywhere," so Andrew is making it from Cape Cod.

We will be looking to see the draft for the XFL in November to see what team we will cheer you on in the upcoming 2023 season!

Bad Things and Bullies

Bad Things and Bullies

*We're not here to tell you what to do. We're here to listen.

JT Chronicles Podcast is a podcast that tackles tough topics, and we want you to know that it may be triggering for some listeners.

If you need help, please reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 or the Crisis Text Line by texting HOME to 7417

This episode demanded us to talk about it.

Have you ever made plans, and everything is set in place, and for whatever reason, you felt all the forces of the universe demand that you did not go ahead with this plan?

People around you are often happy to offer their learned responses, the usual cliches, "it happens for a reason" or "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger," but that hurts more than sometimes helps because it doesn't ask the question "what is wrong."

Instead of spending the morning with a wasteful hour and harping on the bizarre things that got JT and Stephanie down, they moved on to talk about an issue that has touched us all and is so relevant and prevalent in our current society- bullying, and suicide.

As a whole, we are constantly connected on screens, and with the convenience of digital connection, we are never getting a break from each other.

When conflict arises these days, there is little escape from the problems you have and the people you have them with; whether we like it or not, we are connected.

JT and Stephanie talk about when bad things happen and the importance of checking in with people and taking personal inventory of yourself, your life, your family, and let's start talking.

We need to get sensitive and check in with each other and show up for each other.

We're here to listen, not judge. We're here to help, not hurt. We're here to support, not shame.

We want you to know that you are loved and valued, no matter what you have been through

You are not alone, and JT says what he means, #1love1family1community

From the Website

"Amplify POC Cape Cod is a racial justice initiative to help amplify the businesses owned by people of color (POC) on Cape Cod. Amplify was founded by Tara Vargas-Wallace, after the murder of George Floyd. As a Puerto Rican woman married to a Black man and mother to three promising Black children and as a social justice activist in the community, this issue was personal to her. In the spring and summer of 2020, community members began reaching out to Tara to ask how they could support the Black community. A list of Black-owned businesses did not exist for the Cape region, and therefore, Tara created one as part of Amplify's first endeavor. After some discussion with her local NAACP, it was decided that due to the dynamics on the Cape, it would be best to include all businesses owned by people of color as there weren't enough Black-Owned businesses in the region. The goal then became to amplify businesses owned by all marginalized groups, thus adopting the term POC for People of Color. Amplify provides training and educational opportunities to enhance economic development among people of color on the Cape. Because of systemic racism, we know that the COVID pandemic has disproportionately impacted POC, and now is a significant time to support small local businesses, especially those owned and operated by POC. We're hoping that Amplify - as a community-driven initiative - helps to create a more equitable Cape Cod by fostering growth within and for our community."
