Episode #76 Career Limiting Agreements
Have you been making career-limiting choices? I was having a conversation with my daughter Delly many years ago and she started talking about colleagues who were making career-limiting choices that would define how their careers progress and that would ultimately limit their opportunities to attain the respect and fluidity of movement many aspire in the corporate arena. I had a chuckle then but quickly realized that many people I see are also struggling to see the long-term consequences of their actions. Let's talk about career-limiting choices in this episode. Are you making them or seeing friends and colleagues making them?

Episode #75 - How Does Self-Awareness Build Emotional Wellness?
It's not the emotions we feel that matter, it is who we become as a result of these emotions. It is what they trigger in us and who we resort to become and the things that we do that make life so tough. Self-awareness is the only way to pay attention so we can stop shutting ourselves off, becoming people we don't like, and refusing to grow, change, or evolve into our next best self. Let's have a conversation about self-awareness and self-mastery. Join me now.

Episode #70 - Celebrating My Sixth Book - The Inclusive Wellness Competency Teaching and Coaching Framework
I want to share my excitement with you about the launch of my 6th book. This book has been in the incubator of my mind for quite some time. It is meant to expand our lenses about the teaching and coaching of wellness competencies. I use competencies because we know they can be learned and improved upon. You will note that we can always work on our bodies, our minds and attitudes to attain optimal well-being. The same concept is presented in the WIS Method, the nine-dimensional framework that expounds on the wellness mindset and teaching. This book is a resource for coach trainers, instructors, facilitators, wellness practitioners and other professionals looking to marry the social determinants of health to coaching and teaching. It also provides some nuggets for leaders on how to lead wellness at work and strategies for organizational and workplace wellness. I am happy and excited that this book took so long. It was meant to take time and be birthed at this time when our health and wellness are in such jeopardy. You can pick up a copy of the book Here
Join me in 2022 as I expound on the wellness competency teaching and coaching framework weekly, as I teach wellness facilitators, coaches, and all those looking to be part of rebuilding the new world of work, to drive high performance, innovation, resilience. I have been noticing that some key aspects of DEI in relation to the health and well-being of those who are being impacted by exclusion, microinequities, microaggression, and racism are not being addressed in the regular literature. I am sharing this recording here with you to help you understand what I am seeing and how these issues can be resolved. Have a listen and let me know what you think it a voice message.

Episode #68 - Race and Diversity May Not Be Why A Co-worker Dislikes You
As we march on the journey of diversity, inclusion and equity, it becomes very important that we do not squander the fight with trivialities. If someone at work doesn't like you, it may because of your behaviour, volume, attitude or even that you are disrespectful. Sometimes we don't like ourselves yet we expect others to like us. Ask yourself, would you be a friend to yourself? Do you like yourself? if you can't answer this question or find yourself avoiding the question altogether, then you may not think that you are likeable. If you want others to like you then do a self-assessment and come up with a couple of things you need to change for you to like yourself and your own company better. The answer to why co-works don't like you may be something you are doing or not doing or maybe pointing you to an area of growth in yourself. Focus on that and seek help to improve your interpersonal skills, your work output or your interactions with others at work. I know, it is so much easier to say it's because of the colour of your skin, hair texture, height, gender, attitude, or sexual orientation but I want to challenge you to dig a bit deeper and do your own self-assessment. Let me know what you find out. Also, we can never like everyone or have everyone like us so give yourself a break. Listen to this episode and reflect. Episode #67 - What Not To Bring To Work for Lunch in a Diverse Workspace
When we accept that we are working in a diverse environment, we realize that our ethnic foods though delicious to us may have smells and odours that are uncommon and unpleasant for others not used to them. You know what they say: "One man's medicine is another's poison". Let's be smart and not put others in uncomfortable situations. Keep exotic foods out of the office. Leave them for home and with friends, for those special "potluck office days". I don't believe the reason your co-worker leaves the office when you eat your ethnic food in the adjacent cubicle is a sign of racism. It may very well be that the spices and blend of spices may be making them queasy, nauseated, lightheaded or worst. Remember that some co-workers may be undergoing cancer treatment, are on medications that make them sensitive to strong smells, are pregnant, or may have allergies. Be kind to yourself and others. While you may be accustomed to the smells and think them wonderful, they may be new and overpowering to others. Remember most workplaces have a scent-free workspace policy. We usually recommend that our client organizations add strong-smelling foods to their scent-free policy as part of workplace health and wellness strategy. Let's continue to look for more ways to promote interpersonal wellness at work.

Episode #66 - How Anchoring Heuristics Impact Resilient Relationships at Work
Have you ever heard someone say something such as that's your interpretation"? Have you ever wondered what they meant by that? Well, there is some truth to it. As we work to develop resilient workplaces in the new world of work, it is very important that we ensure we get rid of old anchors that are no longer serving us and develop a new resilient mindset with anchors that are innovative and forward-thinking. We need to engage in powerful and meaningful discussions, expand our world view and watch ourselves that we are not being too emotionally fragile, limiting our ability to engage in critical conversations that help us learn, teach and grow. Let's talk about how we can reframe these anchors and enhance vibrant dialogues that will make our workplace a warm inviting place where employees want to come to work and be a part of. Episode # 61: How Does Integrity At Work Impact Mental Health?
In a culture where being first is celebrated, being a winner at all cost sometimes means cheating, taking credit for other’s work, speaking first and over others, advocating your point of view, selling ourselves, embellishing the resume to get shortlisted for the interview, or winning the competition by diminishing others’ achievements, one can easily forget the mental health benefits of integrity at work. Low or inconsistent acts of integrity can make the workplace feel like a harsh, psychologically unsafe place to be.

Have You Been Affected By The Avalanche of Changes In Offices Everywhere?
Are there changes in your office schedule or office hours? If not, you may be one of the very few people who are not experiencing changes in their work lives.
Most of us experienced massive changes in our work schedules and office hours as we moved to remote work during the 2020 global pandemic. It took many months of adjustments to create a new rhythm and pace that we have become accustomed to, and now it’s time to transition back.

Episode 59 - Why We Fail at Work and In Life
Have you ever failed at something?
Did you stop and take some time to evaluate why you failed?
I want to talk about why we fail at work. I believe we fail because we get cocky when we believe we no longer need our practice to move our skill levels into the realm of competence. Sometimes we let our guard down and failure introduces itself to us. It is a common belief that failure is something that happens to us. No!... Have a listen and leave me a voice message.

Episode 58 - How to Accelerate Your Skills As A Relational Leader at Work
This morning I led a class of leaders in the foundations of leadership coaching course. It is a course I teach every week, as more leaders are recognizing that they need a different way to approach employees to promote psychological safety at work, as we advance to a hybrid workplace.
As the rate of mental health and autoimmune diseases becomes more prevalent among employees, leaders must change the way they engage, relate, and communicate with employees, and coaching is a powerful strategy to do so.
If you are interested in learning any of these skills, I am offering free access to this coaching course for my readers who are curious about accelerating their relational skills, as we quickly transition from remote work to having more employees back in the workplace.
If you are curious about bringing the Relational Leadership Coaching program to your workplace, contact me.

Episode 57 - Are You Building Skills at Work That Can Be Your Career Success Currency?
When we develop competencies, they become part of our characteristics. Competencies flow out of us without effort or a lot of thinking on our part. There is a way to build skills into competencies. This is my favourite part of training and development, the work that I have done for 24 years. I love to see people develop a skill or competency.

Episode 56 - Do You Build Relational Currency at Work?
Do you know that by building relational currency you can foster goodwill among your team and boost your social bank account? Yes, this is where things like participation and collaboration come from. As I reflect on the business of my week, the things that stand out are those of interpersonal equity. Those that allow people to feel empowered and valued at work. Besides the business of my week, the issues of bullying, harassment, and discrimination that my clients are facing are the most impactful.
