Why Potential Members Don't Know You Exist (& What to Do About It) - Part 2 of 4
Last week, we kicked off a special 4-part series focused on the first stage in a member's overall experience with you - the Discovery stage. This is when people initially find out about your organization and it is a stage that can be super-frustrating when you feel like more people SHOULD know about you. Why I Hate Planning (and You Might, Too)
If you know me at all, the "I Hate Planning" statement might surprise you. Truth be told, I don't hate all planning... I just hate it the way some consultants lead it and the way some organizations choose to approach it.  This week, I talk about 4 big problems with the way that most people plan. Flying the Friendly Galaxy - Partnering with Vendors, Sponsors, and Business Affiliate Members
Most organizations want to create additional lines of revenue by involving business partners in some way - through sponsorships or perhaps a specific type of membership level made for them.  However, most don't give a lot of thought to creating win-win-win ways of working together. When you do so, you can create a lot more value for your members. Here's the video that I mention on this week's episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21hbvm69i4k This podcast episode is a replay of the live show that happens every Friday at 11 am CST.  Each week, we focus on a topic intended to help you grow your association, trade group, professional society, or membership-based nonprofit.  If you enjoy this podcast, we also offer a 75-minute growth workshop, "Growth Guaranteed: The No-Fail Model for Attracting, Engaging and Retaining All The Members Your Organization Needs to Thrive". Member Experience Design - Expectations vs. Reality
The road to creating an engaging and effective member experience is full of misperception potholes and long-standing “we’ve-always-done-it-this-way” detours. Sadly, such misperceptions and well-intended traditions can hold an organization back in its growth. In preparation for this broadcast, Joy asked people who had gone through one of our Member Experience Design Groups about their perceptions about Experience Design BEFORE the program, vs. the reality that they discovered AFTER. In this broadcast, Joy shares two themes that commonly arise. This podcast episode is a replay of the live show that happens every Friday at 11 am CST.
