Lindsay works in the non profit world of harm reduction and homeslessness and it is evident she is passionate about her work. She shares why harm reduction is so important in our community, resources for addicts, staggering stats of homelessness and drug use in Grande Prairie and Alberta as a whole. We talk about what we can do as a society to make a difference and the areas our society is seriously lacking. Lindsay also shares how people in this field of work can take care of themselves to prevent burn out.

On this week’s episode Katie and Noelani do a solo episode to talk about their recent experiences with grief, how they have navigated it thus far and what has helped them along the way. This episode is as personal as it gets and their hope is to let other’s walking the road of grief know they are not alone. There is no right or wrong to grieve and it is ok to not be ok.
Please reach out to a therapist or grief counsellor if you are struggling with navigating your grief.
Things you can do to help a love one who is grieving:
-Bring Meals
-Acknowledging their pain
-Taking their kids for the day
-Empathy

Things you can do to navigate grief:
-Journaling
-Spending time outside
-Talking to a friend/partner
-Talking to a counsellor
-Finding time to be alone
-Focus on getting through 10 minutes at a time
-Basic self care-eating, drinking water, moving your body, getting dressed, etc.
