In this podcast Full Circle Reviews discuss the post-apocalyptic infection/zombie-ish thriller 28 Days Later. The movie was written by Adam Garland, directed by Danny Boyle, and stars Cillian Murphy, Naomi Harris and an ensemble of supporting characters. The movie takes place after the rage virus set London on a trajectory for disaster and viewers see the repercussions after Jim (Murphy) wakes up after being in a coma to a desolate world with no life left. Kristen, Luke and Justin review the 2022 horror movie Scream. The OG's of the franchise return (Neve Campell, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette), with an ensemble of forgettable new characters. This episode finds the crew reviewing The Batman, a much anticipated 2022 film directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson, Zoey Kravitz, Collin Farrell and Paul Dano. For the first time in FCR the crew has a special guest/co-host, Susan Taylor who happens to be Kristen's Mother. The movie had adrenaline, anxiety, and high expectations among the FCR gang. Many people raved about this 2021 Crime Drama-ish movie starring Matt Damon and Abigail Breslin, so we gave it a shot. Lets just say we will not be raving about this movie. It is loosely based on the Amanda Knox story. When they say loose, they mean like back alley at the bowling alley loose if you know what I mean. We had more fun reviewing it than watching it. This episode of FCR finds the crew reviewing the 1994 Comedy/Holiday film Mixed Nuts. Wackiness and shenanigans are sure to ensue with a cast including Steve Martin, Madeline Kahn, Rita Wilson, Gary Shandling, Liev Shrieber, Juliette Lewis, and Adam Sandler. This 2008 Australian Horror/Thriller has the FCR gang debating the purpose of the movie. This movie does exist, it is real, even if some believe the world would be better off without it. It follows a family that lost a sixteen year old daughter, began to notice a haunting or following from the daughter, and then learned that the daughter was in a scandalous relationship. There are some strong opinions, hurt feelings, and disdain during the review. Somehow, they all make it through alive. We Hope you Enjoy. 

On this episode the gang reacts to the recently released Ghostbusters Afterlife. It is directed by Jason Reitman, and stars Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Paul Rudd, and Carrie Coon. The film follows up years after the original events in the universe of the 1984 blockbuster Ghostbusters. With such large shoes to fill there was a lot to live up to, and the expectations were high. Take a listen and find out what we thought. 

In this episode the gang reviews the thrilling 2006 adventure drama Blood Diamond. The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Danny Archer, Jennifer Connelly as Maddy Bowen, and a breakthrough performance from Djimon Hounsou as Solomon Vandy. This film is about the illegal diamond trade, the locals and how their lives are affected, the forces that are in constant war for control, and the corporations and businesses that buy the illegal diamonds and potentially fund the wars. The cast discuss critical talking points from a movie that sheds light on unspeakable acts that still occur but are swept under the rug. We hope you enjoy it. 

Kristen, Luke, and Justin review the 2012 found footage comedy Project X in this episode. This movie was definitely one of Luke's favorites and he liked it more than Why Him! The film is about three high school seniors that are not a part of the in crowd. Thomas has his 17th birthday coming up and his parents will be out of town, so Costa throws him the most Epic party Pasadena has ever seen. The movie stars a ragtag bunch of first timers, that give their own renditions of high school boys/girls. Give it a listen and listen to the debauchery that ensued within the review. 

In this episode the cast reviews Taking Lives the 2004 Crime Thriller starring Angelina Jolie, Kiefer Sutherland, and Ethan Hawke. Angelina Jolie plays an FBI profiler hired to help solve a recent murder in Canada. Ethan Hawke plays a recent victim that got away before abduction, and Kiefer Sutherland is portrayed as the potential murderer. The movie takes some twists and turns, and there is a rare sex scene between Jolie and Hawke. Give us a listen and see if you agree with our review or not. 

Venom - Let There be Carnage is the 2021 sequel to the 2016 anti-hero/superhero movie Venom. The film stars Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson, and a directorial debut from Andy Serkis. The FCR gang was taken back by the shift of direction for the sequel and found they were having consistent difficulty finding anything even remotely positive to say about it. This episode finds the FCR crew lost in the 1999 found footage horror movie The Blair Witch Project (Luke's pick). The film is arguably the grandfather of the genre and is memorable for a multitude of reasons, the strongest of which being its overall scare factor and advertising campaign at the time the film was released. Just hit play, sit back, and enjoy the show. 

During this episode, Kristen, Luke, and Justin review and discuss the extended version of the classic, "The Outsiders". The film is based on a book written by S.E. Hinton about rival groups/gangs in a small town within Oklahoma. The protagonist Ponyboy is a Greaser, which come from the lower class families and live on the wrong side of the tracks. The Socials (Soc's) are the preppy highborn kids from wealthy families. An unfortunate event leads to Ponyboy and one of the other greasers having to skip town and hope for redemption or leniency. The movie stars Patrick Swayze, Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estivez, Leif Garrett, Ralph Maccio, Matt dillon, C. Thomas Howell, and Diane Lane. The combination of the star-studded cast, coming of age story, and rival gangs gives the crew a lot to talk about. Give us a listen, and let us know what you think?

Episode 20 of Full Circle Reviews finds the crew reviewing the 2012 found footage film "End of Watch". The movie stars Jake Gylenhaal and Michael Pena as two Los Angeles police officers who become targets of a powerful drug cartel. This is not your typical cop flick with themes of loyalty, devotion, courage, as well as the effect the career of law enforcement has on those closest to those who wear the badge.

This episode has the gang talking about the 2010 Action/Comedy "The Other Guys". The movie stars Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg while enlisting an A-List supporting cast the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The film provides plenty of talking points, differing views, and dissension/discord among the trio. They discuss humor in itself, and whether or not this movie is humorous. Give it a listen and see who you align with. 

In this episode, the crew braves "Zemons" and haunting photos with 2015's Savageland (Luke's Pick). This little known mockumentary provided both kristen ans Justin with nightmares and all three with plenty of talking points.

The movie was created from Quentin Tarantino's first screenplay and directed by Tony Scott coming off his recent Top Gun success. True Romance stars Christian Slater (Clarence) who plays an Elvis obsessed loner working at a comic book store, and Patricia Arquette playing Alabama who is a new call girl that falls head over heels with Clarence. The FCR cast discuss the co-star ensemble of prolific actors, the Quentin Tarantino aspect and feel, the romance driving story, and the roller coaster of events that transpire. 

In this episode, the gang dives headfirst into the 1986 werewolf movie Silver Bullet (Luke's Pick). The film stars the late Corey Haim and the fantastic Gary Busey. Quickly he realizes something is not right inside the home, and he is faced with the hauntings of his past including the disappearance of his son. The movie employs a star-studded cast led by Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, and Mark Wahlberg. The Departed was directed by the respected and renowned Martin Scorsese. When you combine the star power, expertise behind the scenes, and a brilliant story how could you go wrong? As it turns out, the overwhelming amount of positive ratings and reviews did not discourage one of the crew from voicing their disdain. We hope you enjoy. 

In this episode, the gang dives deep into the visually stunning 2007 Sci-Fi flick Sunshine (Luke's pick). The movie stars Cillian Murphy and Chris Evans and boasts an impressive supporting cast. With a plot that involves space, science, murder, and possible human extinction, it is sure to provide plenty of talking points. 

On this episode Luke, Kristen and Justin review The Tomorrow War. The movie is the newest Amazon original movie, and the first to seemingly be at blockbuster level. A group decision was made for Kristen to host, because she has had less opportunities than the boys (and she is better than them LOL). The Tomorrow War stars Chris Pratt and is about an ex-Green Beret turned science teacher who is running out of hope for his future. Then suddenly everything changes in an instant when visitors from the future appear during the World Cup and tell of a war that will wipe out humanity. Chris Pratt is drafted soon after and the movie follows his journey to save the world. Luke, Justin, and Kristen discuss many topics including their takes on the ending, the creature of the creature feature, and how much Kristen loves Chris Pratt. 

Kristen hosts this review and picked the movie for the crew. War Dogs is a loose biopic about two young Jewish men in their early 20's who are finding themselves in life, and simultaneously securing government contracts for guns, ammo, armor, etc. It stars Jonah HIll and Miles Teller who both seemed to have found their stride. The duo land two major deals worth millions of dollars, and due to greed end up being caught defrauding the government. Luke, Kristen, and Justin discuss their reactions to the movie, truth vs Hollywood, the idea of being in the position of these two young men, and much more. 

During this episode Luke, Kristen, and Justin discuss the mostly unknown film Donnie Darko. Donnie Darko stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Jena Malone, Patrick Swayze, and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The movie is about a high school boy that escapes death because a dark figure resembling a rabbit told him to leave in his dreams. An airplane engine falls on his bed the same night. The troubled teenager (Gyllenhaal) is them prompted to commit a series of crimes in disassociated states while exploring the idea of time travel. Much of this movie is up for interpretation, and there are many theories of what the ending means and if the events during the movie actually happened or not. The hosts discuss their theories, reactions to the movie, and go over the events that transpired. 

This 2016 comedy starring James Franco and Bryan Cranston really created a divide between the crew. A conservative father forced to meet a tech billionaire boyfriend led to many laughs, or did it? Listen in and hear Luke, Kristen, and Justin discuss the movie, argue about whether or not it is funny, and then listen to them laugh and enjoy arguing about what constitutes humor.

Neither Luke, Kristen, or Justin had seen a Quiet Place prior to watching it for the review, and followed it up with the first in-theatre movie visit of the year with Quiet Place II. As the movie progresses the drug use also does for some of the friends, and it sends them all down different paths in life. Luke, Kristen, and Justin discuss the movie, the acting, the emotional impact, and even share some personal experiences from their past. 

On this episode of Full Circle Reviews Luke, Kristen, and Justin discuss a 2006 documentary titled The Bridge. The Bridge was made by a kite surfer that while kite surfing in the San Francisco bay saw someone jump from the Golden Gate Bridge to commit suicide. This experience had a huge impact on him. So much so that it motivated his friend and him to setup cameras and record the bridge for a one year period. Luke, Kristen, and Justin discuss the impact the movie had on them, the topic of suicide, the disconnect between the friends/family of the jumpers, and a plethora of other talking points.
