Episode 9 - Perseverance
In Episode 9 we catch up after a few weeks away from the podcast to applaud and celebrate our students for completing what was an extremely trying school Year. There is so much going on around the world and in our country, and I think it is important to realize that we in Southampton are lucky to be part of such an historical and diverse community. We will also say a few words to thank our retirees from Southampton Intermediate School - Ms. Deborah Kennedy in the Special Education Department, 5th Grade Teacher Ms. Barbara Sutton and of course our Principal, Mr. Tim Frazier. We will also here a reading from Maya Angelou and finally a virtual performance from Mr. Benaburger's students!

Lastly, we will take a moment to reflect of the meaning behind and history of Memorial Day.
Episode 7 - Taking Time To Reflect
As we continue on this journey of Remote Instruction it is important that we take the time to reflect on how this time away from SIS has affected us. Mr. Stipanov's 8th Grade ELA Class did just that and several of his students will join us in this episode to share their reflections on how this time has impacted their lives and what they'll take away from it. Thank you to 8th Graders Stephanie Garcia, Kate Bigwood, Lily Conklin, Linda Alfaro and Deily Gonzalez for sharing your thoughts! Lastly, we will be joined by Southampton's Director of Food Services, Regan Kiembock who will walk us through all of the hard work going on behind the scenes to provide meals, nutrition and more to those that are in need in our community.
If you or anyone you know in the community with school aged children are in need of food/nutrition please contact us at 631-591-4637.

In episode 3 of the Anchor SIS Podcast we have messages from Board of Education President Ms. Jacqueline Robinson, SIS PTO Board Members, Librarian Ms. Antonucci, Guidance Counselor Ms. Buccio and a student performance from Cellist Charlotte Arnzen playing a piece from Bach. As we end the third quarter having been home on remote instruction for nearly one month we find out that Governor Cuomo has announced the continued closure of NYS Schools until at least April 29th. Moving forward it seems that Governor Cuomo will rely on science and data to make updates in two week increments. While we don't know exactly when we will be returning, we can expect updates in two week increments and so our message to each student is to take care of yourself, establish a routine to the best of your ability and please know that we at SIS are here for you. Please don't hesitate to reach out. We will see you back next week... Be sure to finish the third quarter on a strong note and to begin the 4th quarter the same way!
