Infertility
Today I'm speaking with Dr. Meivys Garcia all about Infertility. Dr. Garcia is an obstetrician Gynecologist and Fertility Specialist, as well as assistant medical director at markham Fertility Center. She has a significant medical resume, received numerous prestigious awards during her academic career, and her research has also been well-recognized. She received the Canadian foundation for Women's Health Research Award and the Paul Harding Research award in 2008 and 2009. Dr. Garcia believes it's about time we work on the stigma around Infertility and focus on what we need to support each other and share the information, for women to become informed and empowered and not feel ashamed and isolated. Meivys was also an IVF patient herself, and now has two beautiful boys. I believe having been through the journey herself, she brings to the table an understanding of what her patients are going through, and can provide a unique and beneficial perspective, one you won't encounter everyday. Her main interests are in the area of unexplained infertility, immunological disorders leading to subfertility and fertility-enhancing surgery.

Cervical cancer awareness
Today on the podcast I'm chatting with Lynzi O'Sullivan who shares her journey through cervical cancer in order to bring awareness to such an important topic. She also opens up about anxiety, postpartum depression and recognizing the need to get help. Typically cervical cancer will present with no symptoms, until it reaches more advance stages. We can't stress enough how important early detection is. There is close to a 100% survival rate when detected early. However, despite the high survival rate it can also be deadly if it's not detected early. I'm so proud of her for sharing her story with us, and having the strength to open up and discuss a topic that is as uncomfortable as it is difficult.

Self development with the Enneagram
Today we are doing things a little bit differently, no interviews, and you are getting me all to yourself! We are going to dive into an overview of the Enneagram. We look at what is the Enneagram, The 9 basic personality types and "Why" you think and feel the way that you do. I break down the Core motivations of each personality type, essentially what drives you, and we look at your Core Fear, Core Desire, Core Weakness and Core longing associated with each personality type. Self awareness is your super power. You can use the enneagram to become your most authentic self, and the highest version of yourself, but also to understand others and your relationship with them.

Strong Heart
Today I share with you the story of Harrison Mckinnon, who was a real life super hero. Just after his first birthday Harrison was diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma. A bright light and tiny warrior, he endured endless procedures, treatments and hospital stays. He reacted well to treatments and was declared cancer free, which allowed him a blissful summer, filled with toddler fun long overdue. But when the cancer returned and chemotherapy treatments failed, a stem cell transplant was the final hope. In March 2017 Harrison had a stem cell transplant, and for 10 days prior he received high dose chemo and radiation to eradicate his immune system, so his body would be more likely to accept the transplant. Ultimately what cost him his life was an opportunistic infection so tiny, it wouldn't be lethal to most of us, but would be just too much for Harrison to fight. On June 17, 2017 after a battle with cancer that lasted more than half his life, Harrison was taken from this world far too soon. Though he was only here for a short time, his memory consumes the hearts of those who knew him, and his legacy continues to leave a strong impact, even on those of us who didn't get the chance to meet him. This one is a heavy one, yet a powerful one and an important conversation worth having. I'm joined by Shannon Mckinnon, who is Harrison's mom and Mum of three. Two in the sunshine and 1 in the storms. We sat down to chat all things Harrison, as well as her journey through grief and out the other side. She is the true definition of resilience. She shows us that it’s ok to not be ok, but that in the end you can and will get through it. Allowing herself to be vulnerable and sharing her story, she brings hope to other women, couples and families that may be faced with similar fates. I feel blessed to have the chance to share Harrison’s story with you, he was the true definition of super hero and will always remain a strong heart and bright storm in this world.
The song Strong Heart, by Melissa Payne was written as a tribute to all of the young cancer warriors who've had to battle the beast and for those who still are. Proceeds of the song and the video will go towards furthering paediatric cancer research through the Sickkids Foundation.

Multiple Streams of Income
Today I chat with my sideline sister, business coach and girlfriend Theresa Vanderstaay. Theresa is a flight attendant, entrepreneur and business coach. I feel like there is such a stigma around network marketing, so we dive into what this opportunity can do for you, if you are open to it. Because she said "yes" to the opportunity, she was able to triple her income as a flight attendant, extend her maternity leave and not stress over whether she has a job to go back to after the pandemic. We also talk about the importance of multiple streams of income, especially in today's world, not being afraid to fail and learning from your mistakes.

Understanding your "Why"
Today I have the pleasure of getting to chat with Bud Tinney on the show, who is one of the most positive people I know. His outlook on life is just so contagious. Bud is a personal trainer, coach and owner of Crossfit Cobourg. We chat all about mindset, especially the connection between the body & mind. We also dive into how you can take what you learn in the gym and apply it to your everyday life. It's very interesting to learn about how something like weightlifting and lessons learned in the gym can transition into our lives outside of the gym. We talk about understanding your "why" and how it's not so much about what, or how we do things, but why we are doing them. We chat a little bit about how they had to pivot their business during the pandemic and what things will look like going forward.

We also talk about Money mindset and the Enneagram. Sarah has created courses and programs with proven strategies to help aspiring female entrepreneurs identify and validate money making business ideas in order to start making money doing something your passionate about and discover more free time to spend with the ones you love.
