Fabian von Köppen - Roots, Germany's tallest wooden tower
The architect, visionary, project developer and managing director of Garbe Immobilien pushes building under sustainable aspects in his thinking. Wood as a building material plays a very special role in this. In his opinion, both politics and colleagues are clearly lagging behind an ecological construction method. In the podcast he explains, among other things, why we "... don't see the forest for the trees", how he faces the current price and material shortage or which advantages and disadvantages building with wood entails. In addition, Fabian dispels some wood clichés and even enters into a bet with me. Last but not least, he explains why BIM and virtual tools are the future and how his experiences with the different applications went. Finally, there is the legendary exchange of blows and a small glimpse into a new project that will have a groundbreaking influence on the future way of building.
