Fostering A Love of Reading
Supporting a reluctant reader is one of the hardest things a reading teacher & family will ever have to do. In this episode I give you 4 ways to help make reading fun and engaging at home as well as give you an activity to do with your child/children. But before we do this we have to reflect on our own experience so I start by giving you 4 reflection questions to help you think about your own reading journey:
- When did you see yourself as a reader?
- How old were you when that changed? If it changed, I know for some maybe it never changed.
- Was reading a chore or was it fun?
- Was reading ever used as a punishment?
