Buzz Box Fun Kits: Myles Ramsay

Buzz Box Fun Kits: Myles Ramsay

In the wake of a COVID lockdown, 16-year old Myles Ramsey suddenly saw his life turned upside down. In particular, he was so excited for an entrepreneur camp he had planned for the summer. But, he suddenly started seeing a trend in kids, an issue that follows along with distance learning; too much screen time. Myles then set out to build a box with all NON digital activities. With no business experience, he had to convince manufacturers of his credibility, especially because of his age. What started as a simple project to kill some time soon turned in to a full-blown company with a strong mission of saving children from the dangers of the internet and digital devices.

In the 7th grade, Adom’s teacher Kelsea Turner assigned him a project called 20Time, where they would spend one class period a week on a community service project. Since then, she's gone on to write Why Wait? Khloe Kares: Khloe Thompson

Khloe was only 8 when she first noticed the issue of homelessness in Los Angeles. She was stricken by the fact that there were so many people experiencing homelessness, for the most part, without any fault of their own. She knew she wanted to do something about it, but didn't want to wait until she's an adult, so without any delay, she setup her non-profit Khloe Kares, to deliver care packages to those experiencing homelessness, and soon, her mission grew even further. Now, she's an inspiration for other kid change-makers, and has extended her mission overseas, even assisting under-deserved in Ghana.

Unity in Upheaval

Unity in Upheaval

The dictionary defines opportunity as “a set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something.” In simpler terms, an event that allows you to do something else, or the ability to accomplish. Over the past few episodes, we’ve talked about heart-warming coronavirus stories and turning the coronavirus into an opportunity, but we haven’t yet covered how the virus allows the world to change and ultimately become a better place. I recently read an interesting article from Vox interviewing Frank Snowden, who is a Yale Historian, and so in this episode, I am going to simplify and give my take on the complicated reading.

Kindness is Timeless

Kindness is Timeless

With so much negativity going on, inspiring and heart-warming stories are as important as ever. You likely have heard of devastating stories of Coronavirus patients from social media or the news, but we have to remember that the Coronavirus has also given an opportunity to many to make an impact on others in their community and the world. We all know that celebrities and millionaires are supporting charities with generous donations and sports stars have donated their salaries, but everyday people like you and me have had just as much of an impact. While many say Coronavirus is bringing out the worst in humanity, the true stories in this episode will surely convince you the opposite.
