From proper names for body parts to the boundaries that he needs to set for those body parts. Then we had the "big talk". This episode covers what I mentioned to him. What are your thoughts?

Conversation #109 - My experience with having medicaid versus traditional health insurance
In my earlier episodes, I've talked about having Medicaid, food stamps, income based housing and other living adjustments. I figured I would share with you all, the differences that I noticed when I was getting health care with a Medicaid card and when I had some good health insurance.

Conversation #108 - Living below your means
Welcome back. In this episode I share my two cents (pun intended) on how I feel when it comes to living below our means. Yes, I've tried it a few times in the past and it was truly bad timing.
Have you tried to live below your means? Do you think that you need to? Here is a free worksheet to figure it all out.

Conversaton #107 - You can end a generational cycle by not showing up
It seems like some people don't know what to do when they no longer want to be a part any get-togethers that make them feel uncomfortable while they are there or make them feel regretful when they leave. So, I recorded this episode to let you know that you can actually stop generational cycles without an intervention by simply not showing up. Please let me know if you have ever had to break an ongoing cycle or leave toxicity. How do you feel now? This episode has two sponsors: "A Cup of Stars Tarot." Conversation #106 - The board game "LIFE"
In this episode I talk about a board game that my son and I like to play. The Game of Life is a game that I played as a kid but I understand it so much better now that I am older. It actually gives a great idea of what LIFE is about when you become a young adult and up. I recommend this game for families and kids.

Conversation #105 - I liked the movie "Deliverance" by Lee Daniels
I had to come and talk about this movie without giving any spoilers. There were so many people giving their two cents, so I decided to watch the movie and see if what they were saying was true. Was it scary? Was it too demonic? Will it give me nightmares? Will I need to pause the movie and pray? I got all of my answers and now I have a word for the Christians and church goers who said that the movie was too much EVEN THOUGH they didn't watch it until the end. Go figure.

Conversation #104 - Who all is going to be there?
Please do not invite me to anything that is going to involve anyone that I do not bother with. That is inconsiderate of the host and petty, too. Have you ever been somewhere with people that you know and it turns out to be one of your worst experiences ever because someone was doing the absolute most at the most wrong time? Well tune in to this episode and when you're finished, tell me about a time when you wish that you had never shown up for a get-together. Talk to me in an email. I can't wait to hear from you.

Conversation #103- Was my family poor when I was younger?
In this episode I go down memory lane and describe the house that I grew up in. I know that times have changed a lot and looking back, I wonder if I was considered poor or if my family and I were average or just plain normal. I was born in the 80's. When were you born and was your house anything like mine? Talk to me in an email. I can't wait to hear from you.

Conversation #102 - Take the opportunities and enjoy any mistakes that you endure along the way
In this episode I talk about all of the opportunities that come our way and how we miss some of them because of what someone else has said to us. Just because something does not work out for someone else that does not mean that it will not work for you. There are so many reasons to be doubtful when we want to take a new job or make a new purchase or even give a new relationship a try. Do it anyway. Especially if you really want to see what is going to happen.

Conversation #99 - You do not have to do everything at one time.
Are you living comfortably in your discomfort? Yes? Why? This episode should definitely put some pep in your step and give you the urge to do something different. Especially if you keep getting the same results from whatever you are doing now. So, take a deep breath and rest assured that even though starting over can be scary, it is still possible. This is one of those episodes that make you go hmmmm. You might get a few answers that you've been looking for. Let me know what you think about the episode. Thank you in advance.

Conversation #97- How do you know that y'all go together?
Listen to this episode in its entirety. This one was recorded on Facebook and I had some people in the comments interacting with me. We talked about so much but I was trying to explain that there are quite a few situationships that people interpret as relationships and we need to clear things up. So, how do YOU know when you are in a relationship with somebody? Do you discuss it or do you just feel it? Lol

Conversation #96 - Sacrificing my peace to give someone else proof
Today's episode is about how I have revisited old relationships and expired situations that I knew meant me no good, just to prove to someone else that I was telling the truth. Why did I do it? Because sometimes I have to learn the hard way that some things are better off not being understood. Can you relate to that? Listen to the full episode and let's get better and not being people pleasers all of the time.

Conversation #95 - (Mini discussion) People are really pulling babies by their heads?!?!?!
Let's get straight to the point. Pregnancies are different and labor stories are different. There are lot of graphic videos around that deal with labor and delivery and I am happy to say that I cannot relate to a lot of them. Especially the topic of what the doctor does near the end of delivery. Listen to this episode and pleeeease let me know what you think.

Conversation #94 - Drug abuse and a mother's love
In this episode I talk about a conversation that I recently had with a man that I'd met. He was telling me why he chose to do drugs. Surprisingly when he started talking I thought, if I've heard one story about doing drugs then I've heard them all. I was wrong. Please listen to this episode and let me know what you think about it. Have you ever heard a rare reason for why someone did drugs or still does drugs?

Conversation #93 - Telling your family what your boundaries are with them
This is an episode specifically about having boundaries with your family and actually sharing those boundaries with your family. As much as we would like to think that there are people who can read our minds, we still need to open our mouths and tell people what we want them to know. So sit back and listen as I talk about a conversation that we all should be having with our family members. The family members who need to hear it the most, that is.

Conversation #92 - Trusting our children to make their own decisions
As, parents we get carried sometimes when it comes to letting our children make their own decisions. Yes, we think that we know what's best for them. But if we truly believe that we are raising them right, then the only way to find out is to put them to the test and let them explore options in the world and see how it plays out. I'm not telling you to let the run wild without supervision. I'm just saying to give them some breathing room so that they can figure what they like and what they don't like before they become full grown adults and everything becomes a secret.

Conversation #91 - People being outraged about the wrong part of the movie "The Color Purple"
This episode is not a spoiler of the new musical version of The Color Purple. Instead, I am responding to the people who seemed outraged and/or disgusted from a particular scene as opposed to other scenes in the original movie and the remake. Have you seen the movie yet? What are your thoughts?

I want to give a shout out to my son's dad. We've been co-parenting for 15 years and he's made some amazing gestures in the last 4 years and I want to say thank you. Listen in on this episode and find out why I am dedicating this episode to this man. I want more single, black mothers to reach this point with their child's father, if you haven't already.

Conversation # 89 - Breaking generational cycles
In this solo episode I talk about how one easy move can be your gateway to breaking generational cycles and curses. Now that we are adults, there are powers that we have that we couldn't exercise when we were younger. Take control of your life and the life of your kids. Listen in and let me know what you think.

Conversation #88- My son can not date me
I've heard people ask the question, "Would you date you if you were someone else?" Which is a thought provoking question. But, if you are a parent, then ask yourself, would you let your child date you? Although I struggle some days with wondering if I am a good enough mother, other days I wonder if I am a good enough example of the kind of woman that I would want my son to bring home. So in this solo episode, I explain why I am trying not to let my son end up with a woman or girl who has been as hurt and traumatized as I have. I call myself saving him from me.

Conversation #87 - I let two people upset me in one week. What is going on?
In this episode I had to let you all know that I am human and sometimes things get to me. Not just things, but people too. I don't mind not being strong all of the time, but I hate when I end up feeling like a fool for being softer and just a little vulnerable. I know that someone can relate to this episode, so let me know what you think when you finish listening.

Conversation #86 - You have to have a paper trail
In this episode I talk about how important it is to be able to prove what you said and what you did. In a world where anything you say can be used against you, we all need a way to go back on a conversation and show it for what it is. Listen to this episode in full and then tell me how you refresh someone's memory when it's all said and done.

Conversation #85 - Live reading of the book Who Moved My Cheese.
In this episode I read the book Who Moved My Cheese, live on Facebook. I have given a copy of the book to multiple people. I don't know if any of them have ever read it. I ran out of copies to pass out but I still wanted people to know the contents of the book so I took the copy that I still have for myself and I read it on Facebook live. If you're thinking about getting a copy of the book for yourself, let me tell you that it only takes about an hour to read from front to back. I've been courteous enough to save the search for the book and decided to read it to you. I really, really do believe that you will enjoy this episode. Please share it with someone. Thank you.

Conversation #84 - Does money change people? Especially the people who no longer have it.
In this solo episode I talk about how money changes people. I asked my followers if they think that money changes people and everyone commented with the mindset of money changing people when they get money. That's exactly how I thought that they would respond. When in fact I wanted to point out how money changes the people that lose money or no longer have access to it. I discuss both kinds of people, but this conversation gets interesting so listen in and tell me what you think.
Visit my website Girlfriendletmetellyou.com and join my emailing list. As always, thank you for your continued support.

Conversation #83 - Don't let teachers convince you that your child is bad + Tarot Monday
In this solo episode I talk about how parents know their kids better than any teacher who is just meeting the child for the first time. Also, some of these teachers don't like children and they don't like their job, so don't be so quick to believe everything that they say. I've covered this topic because school is about to begin and we don't know how the dice are going roll for the upcoming year. Good luck to all of the kids for a great school year.
I added a Tarot Monday onto the end of this episode. Let me know how you feel about the topic and the tarot card of the week. As always, thank you for your continued support.

Conversation #82 - People act the way they are treated + Tarot Monday
In this solo episode I talk about what motivates people to act the way that they do. If someone tells a person that they are the sweetest person that they have ever met then that person may go out of their way to make other people think that they are actually the nicest person ever. However, if someone says that you are stupid and mean and not dependable then you may go around being a butt hole to everyone else because you believe what someone tells you about yourself.
The second part of this episode is Tarot Monday. Let me know what you think when you finish listening and as always, thank you for your continued support.

Conversation #81 - Being a good parent ain't always pretty.
In this solo episode, I talk about how I had to ignore my pride and do things that would benefit my son but could also make me look like a bad mother. There may be times in your parenting journey when you want to do things your way to impress other people but you are ultimately hurting your child and depriving them from the life that they deserve because you want to look good. Listen to this episode and let me know how you feel afterwards.

Conversation #80 - I don't mind you being mad at me, I can't be mad at myself + Tarot Monday
In this solo episode I talk about feeling regret when you've done too much people because you think that you can help everyone. We do not have to be super women all of the time. It's ok to tell someone no. It's ok to let them find what they need from somewhere else. Because in the end, you have to deal with your decision whether it makes you uneasy, regretful or upset. After the short topic I also did a Tarot Monday with the 8 of Swords. Let me know what you think of the episode.

Conversation #79 - Don't stop people from leaving their bad situation
In this solo conversation, I discuss what it is like trying to leave a situation that is not good for you and people are trying to keep you in the situation for some reason. I believe that it is just instinct to tell people not to move on because it feels like you are helping the situation when in actuality you are prolonging the toxicity of it all. After listening to this episode let me know what you think.

Conversation #78 - Dating people who don't keep up with their health
I'm 40 years old so there are some body functions and body parts that I need a physician to look at and test to make sure I'm going to still be here for a while. The fact that I care enough about myself to make doctors appointments and find preventative measures for m own health, makes me want to only date people who care about their health too. In this solo episode I discuss how I feel about dating and health at my age.

Conversation #77- Family health secrets that we need to know about
In this solo episode I talk about my mammogram that I had to get because I am 40 years old now. I want to keep up with what is going on with my body and my health so that I can take preventative steps to keep from being too unhealthy or dying earlier than I have to. You know how the doctors and nurses ask about your family's health history and you mostly say, "I don't know"? Well, that's how it is with me and I don't understand how health is a secret when what out elsers have, has been passed down to us. Listen in as I share my thoughts on families keeping their health history a secret.

In todays short episode I talk about allowing people to do whatever it takes for them to let us go. Well, to a certain point, of course. They might lie to us and on us or just try and destroy our character. We have to be able to let it happen and let them go.

In this live recording I talk about how I thought I had baby fever because I was around so many babies. Conversation #73 - Karma, because shit happens.
In this episode I talk about how we feel sorry for people who are getting their karma. I mean seriously, we always say that people are going to get their karma, but we never say, oh they are getting their karma right now. So sometimes we are actually witnessing someone get their karma because shit happens.

Conversation #72 - I said that I would never do that as a mom
Never say never because that's when it's going to happen. I've had to put my foot in my mouth a few times since I've become a mom. Now I know that we are all doing the best that we can with what we have. That's what makes parenting so interesting. Conversation #71 - Everything is better when there is a risk involved.
Welcome back. Who's ever said that taking the easy way is the fun way? Nobody. There's nothing fun about being extra careful. But if you make it seem like a lot could go wrong, now we're talking. Today's episode is about how we want to do something more, when we know that there is a risk involved.

Conversation #70 - Yvette Troublefield discusses what we need to know about mortgages.
In this interview I speak with Yvette Troublefield who is currently a Mortgage Specialist with State Employees' Credit Union at the Grandover Village branch in Greensboro, NC. She has been employed by SECU for 9 years. She is also the Political Action chairperson of the Montgomery County Branch NAACP. Her goal is to bring financial literacy to all persons and age groups to promote God's calling for all of his children to live in the land of abundance. She graduated from Fayetteville State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and has come to the podcast to answer the questions that I had about mortgages and financial literacy.
2 things that we discussed during this interview are:
1) The difference between prequalifying and preapproval.
2) What an escrow is.

Conversation #69 - People will call you crazy when you know your stuff.
Heyyyyy! Welcome back to the podcast. We are in season #3 yall and I'm starting off the season with an episode about being called crazy by people who know that you know your stuff. When they are beaten by the truth, they will tell lies. And the one "insult" that people like to use is "Oh, they're crazy." Well I'm going to call those people out in this episode. So, sit back and enjoy and tell someone to subscribe to my podcast and emailing list.

Conversation #68 - Love is not enough in any situation
Welcome back. I recorded this episode live on my Facebook page so follow me on facebook at ("Girlfriend. let me tell you," The Podcast) for future live recordings. I talked about how there are so many components that are needed to make things work. Some people feel like just because they declare that they love someone or something, that is all that they need to do to make relationships work and dreams come true and that just simply is not true. So, I shared my point of view and had some viewers to comment as I recorded. I hope that you enjoy the show.

Conversation #67 - I went to Essence Fest 2022 (Not very in depth)
Hey yall. So after wanting to go to Essence Festival for so long, I finally went. Since the trip was for the experience and for my 40th birthday, I flew first class and stayed in a very nice hotel. This episode doesn't tell about the whole experience, it's just to let you know that I was able to get a real feel of what New Orleans is really like when the pandemic isn't slowing things down. My birthday was July 8th so shout me out on my social media pages.

Conversation #65 - Why I think kids should be able to have boyfriends and girlfriends
In this solo episode I talk about why I think kids should be able to explore having a boyfriend or girlfriend. I mean isn’t that how people figure out relationships? By actually having those relationships. I feel like girls have it the hardest because people want to protect the girls from whatever bad things that they think is going to happen. Whole time somebody else is raising their son to be the perfect gentleman for a girl that can’t even have a boyfriend yet. And to be honest with you, having a boyfriend isn’t something that you want your daughter to navigate through on her own when she is older and almost an adult. There are so many important points that have to be made and so many conversations that have to be had and so many moments that parents should be around to witness, correct and explain.
Boys need to be able to have a girlfriend if that is what they want. Of course most of them may still be wrapped up in electronics and that is fine, considering a lot of girls are gamers too. However, that is a common interest that they both might have and their boyfriend/girlfriend relationship may solely be based on getting together whether in person or their favorite online game and just spending time enjoying gaming. Either way that is a form of compatibility.
If kids are allowed to figure out friendships, adult relationships with teachers, mentors, older family members, their friend’s parents, employers and with animals or insects, then they should be able to learn the ins and outs of having a boyfriend or girlfriend. After you listen to this episode, let me know what you think.

Conversation #64 - What should I wear to this booty call?
In this solo episode Coach Tasha talks about why women should dress like they have somewhere to go when they show up to a booty call. If you want more out of the visit than just sex, then you have to carry yourself like you want more than sex. Do you know how many booty calls have turned into marriages? Yeah, me neither, but I'm sure it has happened before. If I were you I wouldn't even show up to a booty call or agree to a quick pull up or even engage in a supposed one-night-stand unless I was dressed and looking like a whole snack. Just think about it. Have you ever worn a bad ass outfit and after you've done all that you need to do, you think to yourself, "I need to go to a few more places because I'm not finished showing off?" Well, isn't that how you want somebody to feel about you when you go to their house or when they come to your house? Like, they have to take you somewhere and show you off or at least show you one hell of a good time because you look too good to leave alone. And be ready for anything when you go. Bring a bag. Can you shower and change into a different outfit? Can you adjust your hair style? Are you prepared to go out of town at the last minute? What does your clothes, hair and spinnanight bag say about you? I hope it screams, "Yes, I want to have sex and yes I want to do something afterwards." Don't say I didn't warn you.

Conversation #63 - You've gotta have a fire inside of you.
In this solo episode I talk about when I lit a pile of pine straw on fire a couple of nights ago. From the time I finished raking the pine straw up until the moment I sprayed the fire out with the water hose, I was having revelation after revelation and I could apply every moment to my own life. It was as if the fire and water were both talking to me and I was listening.
The fire represents the purpose and passion that we all have for something. The water reminded me of the people and things that will make you consider changing your mind about what you’re going after. Listen to this whole episode as I go into greater detail of what this moment meant for me.

Conversation #62 Don't be so desperate to take what you can get, when it's not what you want.
In this solo episode I talk about the time that I was car shopping. I was so desperate to stop having to ride the city bus, that I was almost willing to buy whatever vehicle I could approved for. I had a vehicle in mind, that I ended up buying, but if it had not been for my cousin pushing me to be patient and wait for what I really wanted, I know that I would have been very regretful the morning after the purchase. There are other times when I felt like I couldn't wait or I shouldn't wait because I didn't think that I could have what I wanted. There have also been times when I got carried away trying to prove something to someone when there was actually nothing to prove. Listen to this episode to hear what I mean.
