What happened to the 1st century church?
This podcast is about the vast differences between the 21st century church and the 1st century church.
I made a video about the origin of the doctrine of the trinity on youtube. This video is guaranteed to shock people who think they know the Bible:
Signs of the End
This episode is about the signs described in Matthew 24 of the end of the age. Most of this audio was originally recorded in Feb 2022, with a few sections added later, so the dates mentioned in the recording are of events at the time of the middle of Feb 2022. I was planning to upload this sooner but I've been busy making youtube videos about some of the content on these podcasts.
Church Government
This is part 2 of the last episode on human government, both subjects wouldn't fit into a 30 min maximum. In this episode I compare what the NT describes about both the authority structure and leadership styles of the NT/ 1st century church with modern christianity today. Some of the issues with organized religion I mention in this episode are also talked about in more specific detail in this two videos:

https://youtu.be/nyfeY8IlYUw from about 2 minutes to about 6 minutes into the video
Video link
https://youtu.be/qfcSTwBt5uE in the last two minutes of the video
Both these videos make mention of the problem of elites in positions of power in the church and the worship of man instead of God. A real church should have all decisions made by the Holy Spirit, not a human dictator.
The Biblical Description of the Origin of Human Government
This episode is based on the verses of the Old Testament that refer to the very first human government and similar characteristics of all the other ones that followed. The point of this episode is that all human leaders all follow a repetitive pattern throughout history which God predicted beforehand. I refer mainly to verses from Genesis and also the book of Jasher referred to in the books of the Old Testament. This is the last episode of season 2 and the continuation of this episode will be at the start of season 3. Happy new year!
Lack of Reverence in Contemporary Worship
This episode has an unusual origin, I didn't plan this episode, an elderly man I know handed me a note as I was on the way to church, and as I read it this episode was born. The sum of this message is that we have lost our reverence for Jesus and definitely don't have time to listen to His spirit in our services. Those of you who hate this message will want to avoid the first episode of season 3, where I will be talking about what I think the cause of this is in much greater detail and what needs to be changed in the modern corporation style church.
New Testament Grace
In this episode I do a brief comparison of the New Testament's verses on grace and modern church doctrine. The NT tells us whether anything besides faith is required for salvation, specifically the books of Romans and Hebrews go into the smallest detail about the working of grace in the believer's life. This may seem boring but is an essential topic for anyone who believes the bible, it is extremely important to know if we are actually saved or not.
George Muller, Man of Faith
This episode is dedicated to George Muller, a true spiritual giant. There are several books available about his life from georgemuller.org. He truly dedicated his life to seeking God and showing God's love for the brokenhearted. His life showed the way to be in close fellowship with God, I can't say enough about the incredible spiritual life of this 19th century saint. He learned how faith must be exercised to grow, and used prayer and simple faith to achieve miracles. Everyone who believes the bible should study Muller's example.
I made a video tribute to Muller on youtube:
The Friendly Chapel
This is the story of the Friendly Chapel in north Little Rock and how God moved in a big way through its founder Paul Holderfield Sr. Photos, contact info, and the history of the Friendly Chapel can be seen at its website - friendlychapel.org. Photos of brother Paul are on the site plus info on an upcoming film based on Paul Sr's life. Brother Paul understood what a real church is and is supposed to be, I highly recommend reading about Brother Paul and imitating his example, no matter how small the ability we have to do so. God only only holds us responsible for being faithful with what we have. Enjoy.
Fran's Testimony Conclusion
This is the second half of last week's episode, it will be worth the wait. All details leftover from the first half (last week's episode) are completely explained here in a very tidy conclusion. Fran has his own podcast and webpage here: https://www.fifo4real.ca/
Fran's Testimony
This is part 1 of the life story of my friend from college, and how he came to depend on God. It has a lot of twists and turns in the journey to his faith. Because the entire interview went way over the time limits allowed here, the conclusion - part 2 will be posted next week. The is the first episode of season 2 of this podcast. Here is his webpage and links to his podcast: https://www.fifo4real.ca/
The Sheep and the Goats
This is based on Matt 25:31-46 parable of the sheep and the goats. This is an explanation of God's universal judgment that will be made on all of our lives when we stand before His throne, and on what basis we will be cancelled. This is the last episode of season 1 that finishes all topics planned for the parables of Matthew.
The Talents
Matthew 25:13-30 parable of the Talents tells us much about God will settle accounts with us at the end of our life. This parable explains the basis of how God will judge the value of our lives and what we did with them.
The Ten Virgins
This is the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25:1-12. This parable is about the church age and tells us on what basis we will be canceled at 2nd coming of Jesus. This parable builds on the two previous ones, the parable of the weeds and the parable of the wedding banquet. This is a very brief study of the parable with some gospel music attached. There is also some guest commentary on this episode at about 5 minutes or so my cat Shamu disagrees with some my interpretations of the verses and voices his disapproval. Enjoy
The Wedding Banquet
The parable of the Wedding Banquet in Matthew 22 is a good companion to the previous parable of the Weeds in Matthew 13. This parable is very important because it contains the requirement for salvation, and explains who will and won't reach heaven in the simplest and most direct terms. Sorry about the audio quality, I had a lot of problems recording that day. Thank you for listening, I hope you enjoy the episode.
The Parable of the Weeds
Matthew 13's parable of the weeds explains aspects of the final judgment. One of only two parables in the gospels explained by Jesus. This parable is one of many that tell us who will be canceled, despite church membership or performing so-called good deeds. Matthew 13 contains three important parables, all of which will be discussed briefly in their explanation of features of human accountability to God.
Ruth
The book of Ruth is one of the most uplifting messages of the Old Testament. It has a lot of content that is just as reassuring today as it was thousands of years ago. The story shows God's love for the forgotten and destitute and Him watching over and providing for in their lives. Hopefully you enjoy this episode.
Jesus and Cancel Culture
This is my first podcast, sorry for the mistakes. In Matt 7:1-2, Jesus tells us what will cause us to be canceled at the final judgment. This and a few similar sections of scripture will be discussed in this episode. This is a Rev Harold Salem style message. I've uploaded a newer version with some of the mistakes fixed, but all of season 1 was recorded with a very cheap microphone because that's all I had so i wasn't able to remove all the background noise. Thanks for listening.
