E007 Try ‘How to Give’ and Discover new Opportunities with Mike Coates Founder of Net Zero Coffee Carbon
Did you know that coffee is one of the world’s most traded commodities?
Did you know that coffee beans weigh 20% less after roasting?
That’s 20% less mass to ship around the world. And by roasting coffee at the place of harvest, we can skip unnecessary shipping to roasting facilities.
This is some of the supply chain efficiency opportunities that Mike Coates discovered when he investigated the coffee supply chain. He was analyzing with an unusual perspective - He wasn’t looking for where to save money, make more profit and compete. He was looking for how to help Colombian coffee farmers out of poverty and child labour.
This is an interesting story about discovering hidden opportunities by taking a different perspective. A perspective looking for how to give, rather than how to get.

E005 A Key to a Sustainable Future, Working together - With Vakis Rigas, VP Marketing at Shypple
In this episode we explore the inherent nature of the climate change challenge. We can’t win individually - we can only win together. If we all work together. It requires a different type of thinking!
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” Albert Einstein.
We discover the sustainability journey of Shypple, a Series A funded digital freight forwarding startup out of the Netherlands. Vakis, the VP of Marketing, shares the ambitious climate objective they set for themselves. Offsetting 10x the carbon footprint they leave.

E003 Lead with example. Your example! - with Drew Gerber, CEO @ Wasabi Publicity
In this episode we talk with Drew Gerber. He shares how he found inspiration for his leadership within. Drew is a perfect example of a person leading by example. He’s the humble CEO of Wasabi Publicity, he’s American and he doesn’t own a car. He uses public transportation. For most Americans, that is unheard of.
Drew always had an interest for the planet we live on. He was inspired by a campaign he remembered from his childhood where litter was discarded through the window of a car - and he instinctively knew that this couldn’t continue.
Drew took this on in life and career and is leading with his example…
Thank you for sharing your journey and inspiration with us Drew.
