Featured Quotes:

"I feel pretty bullish that a great business-minded person can start almost any type of business. There are businesses that are super contacts-dependent or others where you just need to jump in because it’s really about the actual experience. The beginner’s mindset can be very helpful in this case. I think that having lived through the problem, we had powerful insight because we weren't guessing at some of the pain points. We then jumped into the world of heavy pack packaging and manufacturing and tried to learn about what success looks like. We learned it, we hired for it, and we figured out the rest of the stuff out as we went.""We know that simple things like getting your worries down on paper can help download them from your mind. We know that focusing on why you should succeed rather than why you should fail works as well. Talking to someone who can help you talk through these things can be really important too. Our thoughts can get the best of us and instead of worrying, we can actually harness them in a way that can be productive."

"I’d say prepare less and do more – this will serve you well."

Featured Quotes:

"I think whenever we're in a situation where there may be historical cues or cues in the environment that signal we don't belong, it can cause us to start worrying and doubting ourselves. This is certainly true for women in male-dominated fields. In my research, what I argue is that those worries and self doubt are all cognitive load."

Featured Quotes
"People always ask, “well how did you do it? How do you build a company?” And I have the most boring answer in the world — a list. We literally had a document where every day we would just have a list of a few of the things that needed to get done. We’d cross off the list so we'd know what the other person is doing and we’d just keep going from there. So it doesn't sound super romantic or sexy, but it was all lists and they were awesome."
"You can build a company if you understand how to reach out to other people and create a story and work to humanize a product that you're developing. You are an absolute integral part to building something impactful for the world."
"I think the number one thing that I learned and I don't think is unique to the tech industry is that you want to be the kind of person people want to work with and that is the number one criteria for success. You want to support people and you want to follow through when you say you're going to do something."
