Fanny Tulloch: Producing Quality Over Quantity & Building Connection | Life Beyond Fitness Ep.61
In today’s episode, I sit down with Fanny Tulloch. We discuss how she got into Personal Training from a background in wrestling to competing in bodybuilding, to finding her way to her practice and teaching of calisthenics, breathing, and intentional movement.
We also discuss the satisfaction in producing things with quality that quantity cannot come close to and the act of quantifying things — ticking off the boxes of achievement.
Fanny is a thoughtful, caring, and intelligent person who I was very grateful I could have on and discuss these topics with her.

Lyndon Purcell & Martin Refalo: Pros & Cons of Imposter Syndrome (Part 2) | Life Beyond Fitness Ep.60

We have a lengthy, nuanced, discussion over the pros and cons of imposter syndrome. We touch on a few other notable topics, but the main theme is around the nuances within this rather hazy topic.

Creating Conditions for Happiness & Finding Purpose Within | Life Beyond Fitness Ep.22
In this episode, I answer two questions that I have recently given some time to think over. The first, "how am I complicit in creating the conditions that I say I don’t want?" The second, "relying on the universe [or higher power] to give your life meaning verse finding meaning [or purpose] within."
The next 20 minutes are there to give you a peek into my mind when thinking over these two topics.

Part 3: Consume Less, Create More | Life Beyond Fitness Ep.21
Part 3 is audio from a video that I titled Consume Less, Create More. As I mentioned at the end of Part 2, this video takes a slight turn from Parts 1 and 2. In 2019, I made a pact with myself to create more and surround myself with good people and good conversation. This was the inception of the podcast. This podcast was my way of hitting all 3 criteria of my pact: to create, to surround myself with good company, and to have good conversations.
One of my favorite parts of this upcoming audio was that creation doesn’t need to be in the form of a post, or written article, or video. Creation in and of itself can be thought. Simply less input and more output.
Output is stimulating and filled with potential growth.
I hope you enjoy the next 9 minutes. I also hope it can help you as much as it helped me at the time of recording.

Part 2: Living Up To Yourself & Capabilities | Life Beyond Fitness Ep.20
Part 2 is audio from a video that I titled Living Up To Yourself & Capabilities. This video allows you to hear my thoughts around how underutilization can lead to feelings of depression and anxiety. This was how I felt for most, if not all, of 2018. It wasn’t until I recorded this video that I was able to gain the clarity I needed to understand this concept. I owe a lot to Ryan Doris and his vlog series on YouTube. This series has allowed me to really think and consider things as I have met different challenges over the past couple of years.
I hope you enjoy these next 12 minutes as you hear me really think about this concept of underutilization and Living Up To Yourself & Capabilities.

Part 1: Why You Have To Challenge Yourself | Life Beyond Fitness Ep.19
Today we start our journey towards a 3-part series.
In this series, I bring to you some audio from videos I recorded a few months back. I was home alone and was finished up with work and had some time to sit down, think, and evaluate my recent challenges. This is the outcome of giving myself some quiet, reflective time.
For context, in 2018 I faced some personal and professional challenges which forced me to take a step back and evaluate what was actually happening to my life. My normal laid back demeanor had become short and agitated. My drive for progression had become one of complacency and self-loathing. To say the least, I was in a dark place and I didn’t like where it was headed.
In 2019, I made a promise to myself to separate from what was causing these setbacks and challenges and spend more time simplifying my life — both personally and professionally. This process included spending time by myself, remaining quiet, and allowing my mind to think through what was happening. This time of immense introspection—which remains ongoing—has brought a lot of clarity to a life otherwise consumed by confusion and uncertainty.
I am thankful I took this afternoon to record these videos. I remain thankful every time I spend time to myself and simply think. This is my time to omit input, and allow free flow of the output.
