Unschooling the West trailer
In this season of the Scrutiny Hour, I explore the western education system. Unschooling the West will be out this week and I'm super excited to share this season with you all.
At a time where we are watching the school system slowly crumble and fail under funding cuts and countless examinations, this season is all about unschooling, relearning and reimaging education lead by parents and teachers finding alternative ways to teach their children.
According to recent reports, parents don't believe school is preparing children for life or for the workplace.
The Times Education Commission found that 65% of British parents think that the current education system places too much emphasis on exams.
I speak to parents who are taking their children out of school completely, adopting new age educational methods such as 'unschooling' and even starting their own schools.
