She educates us on The Conscious Fashion Collective, her involvement, and what they’re doing to change the textile industry as we know it. What I loved most about speaking with Sara, was her candid approach to her beliefs on humanity. She described how “starting a loom” and “sewing” are still things that humans alone can do. She informs us of the importance of using every piece of each garment and how the furrier (a technical person trained in working with fur) creates one-of-a-kind pieces, among other things. She enlightens us in explaining how sustainability and the fur industry go hand in hand, and that it’s the education, or lack their of, of the consumer that needs to change.
