“Push Past Fear”

On this episode, I wanted to talk about fear because it can interrupt a lot of things if we allow it to. Many times we are so afraid that we won’t allow ourselves to get beyond the challenges that lie ahead for us. On the other side of our choices and our decision-making, there are, many opportunities to grow. Pushing past fear is like working out. You don’t want to go at first but once you’ve gone to the gym and you’ve made it through your exercise routine you come out feeling so much better. Some people may even say Victorious. With fear it’s much like the same. Once we face it and find ourselves entangled with it, we begin to understand many things about ourselves and one of those many things is that we weren’t as afraid as we thought we were going to be and then the other is it wasn’t as hard as we thought it was gonna be. There is no need to think things worse than they actually are. I have done that a lot in my life and I can tell you that I have missed out on many opportunities by doing just that. “Let The Trauma Go”

On today’s show we discuss “ letting the trauma go” because we don’t want it to control us or define us. It can and will be difficult, letting the trauma go. The trauma can be so triggering. I’ve been there. There are so many things that can triggering. Being reminded of the trauma is tough in itself. I wish it on no one. I’ve been through some very traumatic experiences and now I’m strong enough to share those experiences with others to help the. I go to therapy twice a week and I’m so grateful for a wonderful team of professionals. They help me to sort through feelings and emotions that I may not be able to understand. Trauma has a way of paralyzing us if we let it. However, if we do the work and we believe in ourselves, then there can be a lot of great benefits that come out of understanding our trauma. It’s important that we continue to learn about ourselves. It’s important that we continue to show up to ourselves. All of this helps us to become better for ourselves and for our loved ones. We also teach the future generations how to take care of themselves. We teach them how to show up to themselves and how to not be afraid to look at themselves. A lot of people go through trauma, but a lot more people don’t do anything about it. Let’s let the trauma go together. On this episode I share some tools for you and I to remind ourselves that we can do this! We can do this at our own speed and with confidence. Goal setting is having SMART goals.
SMART goals guide your goal setting process by defining goals using five principles:
Specific: goals clearly highlight what you want to achieve
Measurable: goals have metrics attached to them
Achievable: goals are ambitious but not unachievable
Realistic: goals are attainable with the available resources
Timely: goals have a reasonable deadline. Ambitious and effective personal or business goal setting can keep you or your employees accountable and productive while allowing you to monitor progress. You can choose to set different goals (e.g., long-term, individual, quantitative) depending on the breadth, reach, circumstances, time scale, and complexity of your goals.
Regardless of the goals you select, a goal setting framework is essential. The right goal setting framework can help you align yourself or your employees and craft an actionable plan for tackling your goals. Moreover, using the goal setting steps and tips outlined in this article, you can facilitate a seamless goal setting process that makes goal attainment a breeze. “Lifestyle Changes”

On this episode of LYTWT we discuss Lifestyle Changes because we know they’re not easily influenced or executed. I have struggled before when it came to lifestyle changes. When I begin my journey, I felt like I was missing out by changing part of my life that I have a gun to fall in love with. Some of the changes I was hesitant to make I knew were good for me, but I didn’t want to give them up because I felt that I was giving up a part of who I am. In actuality, I was growing. I was evolving and didn’t realize how much of a struggle I had with change. Being able to make lifestyle changes takes determination, focus, belief and strength. It’s courageous to make changes, and even more courageous to be a self starting individual who understands that you must do them for yourself, and sometimes by yourself. I’ve learned so many things about myself, and I continue to learn things about myself because of my will to be a better human being. Every opportunity I get. There will be good days and there will be bad days and there will be so-so days. All of the time and effort we put into making lifestyle changes is to better our mind, body and spirit. Everything is truly connected. The music, we listen to, the conversations we have, the food we eat, the places where we hang out, the friends and family, that we are influenced by. Once I understood the concept of everything is connected life became better. I became more intentional about my personal growth. I have been evolving into a better human being every day since. One of the most important things about lifestyle changes is that we must have patience with ourselves and show gratitude to ourselves. Courage, hard work, self-mastery, and intelligent effort are all essential to successful life. To master yourself is to bring yourself closer to who you are. It’s to be deliberate and intentional with the planning and the behaviors that feed into who you want to become. No it won’t happen over night however with hard work it will. I have been on a self evolution journey with more intention for the past couple years and it challenges me in ways I never anticipated. I have began to read a lot more books that are in line with my vision of myself and my experiences in life. I no longer run away from myself. Instead I meet myself with comfort and discomfort often come together, fighting for position of my own patience and understanding. Yes you heard that right. Sometimes I do feel as if I’m in a identity crisis that becomes a battle if I allow it. Tavares’s famous mirror talk helps me to face me and my fears. I use to really care what people thought and so I would stay private but I’ve realized in order for me to help myself and others I must be willing to ask for help and share my inner struggles with others. No, I don’t run around telling my business however I have discovered the power of sharing. There’s often someone very close by who’s quietly searching for support, who’s hoping to connect with another human being who shares the same pain and struggles. “Excited For The Future”

Excited for the future. Give me more enthusiasm! Are you excited for your future? What does it look like to you? Are you being intentional about your personal growth? In regards to your future? I don’t give advice. I just share my experiences. I’m excited for my future because there are a lot of unknowns and knowns. I continue to do the work that is necessary for me to grow and sometimes that work is difficult, awkward and fun. We should always be excited about our future because it’s our future. We are the architects of our future. We say how it goes, when it goes, and where it goes. When we show up to ourselves with more enthusiasm and excitement that is the energy that we’re going to give off. That is also the energy that’s going to come back to us. Good begets good. Excitement, begets excitement. Don’t let fear get in the way of what you want. When we are excited about ourselves, and we show up to our opportunities, excited, we start to create the vibration and we will attract that opportunity right to us. When I think about the things that I wanna do, I envisioned them first. I see myself doing them, and then I see myself planning them, and once I start to plan it then execution is next. On this episode of LYTWT we talk about the morning routine. The importance of the morning routine and how it shapes your personal growth and your successes for life. A morning routine is being intentional in your efforts to pursue your best or better self. I began to prepare my next day the day before. By preparing myself, I find out my focus is pre-determined to feed into my efforts of being my better self and allows me to hold space for time to plan and think. Having a morning routine, helps me in my personal life and in my business life. Without a morning routine, one can be distracted easily. Without a morning routine one can feel like they are unproductive. There are so many benefits to having a morning routine but one of the most important is that you have complete control. My routine screams self control. It’s you taking your life into your own hands. In this case it’s me taking my life into my own hands. I’ve done this for a very long time, and I still find ways to improve my morning routine. Challenge yourself to grow, there is no end in personal growth. “Your Best You”

Your best you or your better you should be who you want to show up right? For me, the answer is yes. I have found that on my journey that I’ve had to be patient. It’s taking me a long time to get to this place I am in right now. I’m glad I never gave up on myself because I would never feel the kind of enlightenment I feel right now. I am still learning to love myself and that is OK. I realize that the way I was loving myself was not conducive to who I wanted to be. Nor was it conducive to who I saw myself becoming. I’m thankful for the hard times. I’m thankful for the challenging times. I’m thankful for the cerebral times. I can’t just celebrate the good times or just appreciate the good times. I’ve done that for so long. You know when you believe the way you were brought up to think is the right way and you never even think to look at things another way you can miss a lot. And learn a lot too. I want my better or best self to always be present, and I do actively participate in achieving that every waking moment. We end season five on a very high note ladies and gentlemen, young adults, and young ones. We have been on a journey together for a very long time. We have traveled this road together through the ups and downs. We have learned a lot about who we are and where we are going. The journey never ends as we continue to search for enlightenment. I would love for everyone to love themselves as much as you need to first. Before we ask for love we should ourselves. No need to go looking out into the world for what you have right inside of you. All you have to do is really take a look. Don’t allow the outside worlds distractions and cravings to curve you. “Make Me Better”

How do I make me better? A question I ask myself all the time. It’s a way for me to be present within myself. I struggle with showing compassion for myself. I’m not sure I even know what it is half the time. No one has ever taught me how to be compassionate with myself. Other times I feel like I am being compassionate, because I’m doing things like meditation, working out, running, stretching and reading self help and self love books to add to it. I’m now asking myself how else can I make me better. Is it just one way? And if there’s more than one way then which ways are the best ways? Should I even be concerned with those questions? I feel like as long as I keep waking up every day and being blessed to wake up that I have a new opportunity to figure out these parts of me so that I can make me better. It’s so scary at times but there’s nothing to fear here. Yet I feel like I’m walking through wet cement. My therapist says at least I’m not stopping and being swallowed up by the cement and giving it a opportunity to harden up around me and conceal me only to bury me alive. I’ve been asked why I decided to change. It was more of a feeling. The feeling is like being stuck in place but inside yourself. I just felt like I wasn’t growing in the ways that I wanted to grow. I was already battling bad behaviors. I was, dealing with my demons after I stop drinking and drugging. See I knew I was in for a battle but I did not understand the strength that it would take to keep going. See the behavior change isn’t just you change and you’re done. That’s not it. See the behavior change is a complete production process in my opinion and what I mean by that is there are no days off. You are constantly tweaking the program. I am constantly tweaking my program so that I can be the best versions of myself. I changed because I felt that I needed to in order to grow. In order to go to the next level of my life based on what I thought of myself. I changed because I wanted to be a better human being. I want to be a better person. I want to be a better father. I want to be a better brother. A better son. A better husband. I mean all these things add up and they continue to add up because I continue to work at being the absolute best Tavares has to offer.
