A day that was supposed to be a peaceful transition of power turned out to be a A Capitol Siege and insurrection of our American Democracy. I will discuss the President and the fact that he ensured that the National Guard and Police was not really a presence at all.

I am at Longstreth Elementary School in Southwest Philadelphia preparing to vote. There are literally people who have been in line since 5:00 am this morning waiting to vote in this 2020 election. My husband and I as well as you should be excited and ready. It is time for a change for the better. I will take tons of work to get this back in shape. So, let’s all stand together in unity to make a change.

Our losses during the Covid 19 Pandemic will be discussed and how the loss of loved ones and the loss of a way of life has effected us mentally as well as physically and how coping in the crisis is a patient thing. We must be able to move forward in life. Death is a part of life and coping with grief only truly gets easier over time.

“Something Doesn’t Feel Right” There is something in affect that may not be healed. Black lives matter, March, Riots,community crime, facets of hatred,being a target, are we a failed society and killing each along with Covid 19. HELP!!!

There is documented evidence of more than 250 uprisings or attempted uprisings involving 10 or more Slaves. We all have heard of Nat Turners rebellion in 1831 but many of us do not know of the 1811 German Coast Uprising led by Charles Deslondes an Haitian slave who led this uprising in A Territory of Orleans. this episodes discusses our thirst for freedom and how hard our ancestors fought for us to be where we are at today. Today’s episode Topic is Are We Tired of The Teddy Memorials in Philly? If you don’t know what a Teddy Bear Memorial is then hear it is. Teddy Bear Memorials are usually set up at the site of a death/ murder. You will see teddy bears and candles showing love to the person or child that was killed. Today I have two guests Maurice Rush and James who are coming LJ’s Open Forum Podcast to discuss their upcoming end the gun violence in Philadelphia on Sunday 8/23/20 at 4:00pm at Broad and Popular at. Junior was mother 2nd brother was born in 1950 and was a great man but he also had his issues. He was wonderful to people but had controlling issues dealing with his wives and developing the positive relationships. He died suddenly in 2001. Listen to his story and did generational issues from the past affect him and if he was given help would the outcome be different?

Rosa’s Story Continues with an explanation of the great migration and how my grandmother Rosa and her siblings began to migrate up north to New York and Philadelphia. Hazel Rucker Ramsuer is one of my great aunts who moved to New York and then to Philadelphia, PA where she settled and met a man name Gordon who changed her life and not necessarily for the good.

Episode 8 looks at the increasing homicide rates in Philadelphia even during the COVID 19 crisis, the death of John Lewis along with what my life is currently like.

I am discussing a little about my grandmother Rosa Gantt but will start to talk about my mother Mary Gantt and her life.

WHY DO PEOPLE BRING UP BLACK ON BLACK CRIME WHEN THE DISCUSSION IS ABOUT BLACK LIVES MATTER? There was a mistake with the publishing of episode 2 of Rosa’s Story on Wednesday 6/24/20 and I just discovered this. This is the continuation of her story that will discuss her life and struggles.

Rayshard Brooks was murdered by the Atlanta Police last weekend and my take on how far we have come In a few weeks but just went backwards again. Can we work together to solve this political climate of evil in this Country?

We are to talk more about the Great Migration to the North and how my grandmother plight affected her family. We will also go back to her childhood and discuss her brothers and what happened to them. My Great Grandfather what was he like near the end of his time.

I discussed the Family History of my grandmother Rosa Gantt. The story is woven around her struggles and endurance in a time that did not give most African Americans the chance to succeed and how did her struggles affect her offspring today in 2020.
