Adjusting to what we want can be difficult
Kate is originally from London, England now living in a small town named Dénia with her husband. They loved London but wanted something a little quieter. They drove to Valencia in 2019 as a starting point to see where they wanted to live. They discovered the coastal town of Dénia, which is a little more than an hour outside of Valencia. Living in Valencia since 2007, Eline still finds a few challenges
Eline is originally from the Netherlands but many years living in Germany where she met her husband. She knew one day that they would probably move to Spain because he is half Spanish. He accepted a job in Valencia and they moved there without knowing much about the city and only being there once or twice to see if they could live there. From dismay to delight - finding love in an undesirable destination.
Silvja is originally from Serbia and had spent some time traveling. However, she had no interest in visiting Spain. After suffering burnout from working too much, she just wanted to spend some time at the sea in Portugal. But she couldn’t get a flight and unenthusiastically went to Valencia because of a friend’s recommendation. There she fell in love with a man from Hungary and now calls Valencia home. Betti first left Hungary when she was 17 years old. Since then, she has lived in several countries. However, she did not realize the psychological challenge she was going to have with knowing she was staying in one city long-term.
