We are part of a broader field with Adam Rumack
Adam is an entrepreneur, educator, learner, developmental coach, facilitator of nature-based transformation, and wilderness guide. Since his teenage years, he has been curious about the interplay of purpose, service, and human expression at work and in leadership. This curiosity has been the inspiration to explore his multifaceted career, integrating different frameworks and practices of leadership and group dynamics, as well as individual-focused philosophies and developmental pathways.
His work has taken him from the wilderness, to state prisons, to corporate board rooms, guiding, coaching, and training people in these varied places. These experiences taught him the creative potential of the human heart, mind, body, and spirit, along with the overwhelmingly common patterns of change and the need for companionship on the journey of ever-unfolding potential.
We are Open Circle is his commitment to the possibility that work communities can and should be places for the full expression of the human gifts of our minds, hearts, soul, and spirit.

“No solution is without its own problems” with Justin Schmidt
Justin is an educator, parent, coach, and storyteller whose goal is to empower organizations, teams, and individuals to facilitate the implementation of optimization into their lives, cultures, and missions. Like the rest of us, Justin has a story to tell. Stemming from a theme in public service, he is both a former member of the military, and major metropolitan police officer who understands the value of learning, sacrifice and dedication.
However, years of stress, burnout and even tragedy led Justin to leave the public sector for a new chapter. He created an education and coaching firm named INTELINQ. Using his passion for helping people, Justin started INTELINQ so others would not have to experience similar circumstances like he did. He used his education and experiences to develop a program designed to empower the audience in how to optimize their well-being (vitality), relationships and growth.
Often being asked the question: what exactly does optimization look like, or even mean? Justin recognized it was important to create a program that not only felt as if it were designed for the individual audience member but could answer the all-important why question. This gives the audience an opportunity to define what optimization and success look like to them.
Unlike traditional training models, which are often a one and done style, and filled with overarching concepts and principles, Justin’s approach is different, similar to a story. And we all have a story to tell from the past, and Justin believes optimization can help you see what yours could be."

Meet our guest: Zoe is an experienced administrator with a background in Foreign Languages, Project Management, Systems, Graphics and Database Management. Throughout her career, she has assisted and managed high priority clients, high-risk project budgets and executive programs. For the past 5 years she has shifted her focus from government sub-contracts to the Architectural industry to focus on human resources and administration.

Enabling psychological safety in a remote world with Kim Colucci
WHY you should listen
- Those mini-interactions we used to experience in the office are no longer – or at least inconsistent. Assumptions can be built when we aren’t meeting as often – things get lost in translation.
- When you invite the whole person to work, there are a variety of benefits:
- People feel safe
- Reduces stress
- Increase creativity and innovation
- People take more risks
- Turnover is reduced
- Engagement is increased
- Productivity boosts
- Which improves top and bottom-line revenue
Meet our guest!
Kim is a passionate people leader whose current obsession is defining our "new normal" - as she's certainly not one to wait around to see what the "future of work" means. Her drive comes from a lightbulb moment where a previous leader placed time, energy, and focus into her development as a young adult. This has shaped Kim to lead with empathy and to uncover things in others they may have not seen within themselves. Kim is currently leading the global People team at Mixbook, where her purpose is to drive creativity and connection. Kim has a degree in classical piano, is currently based in Oakland, CA, and is quite the chatty introvert.
