Born in Philadelphia into a Christian household, Guess relocated to the Baltimore area in 2001 from Philadelphia. Soon after, tragedy and trauma struck his family when his father was murdered in an act of gang violence in 2004.
Now, in his efforts to spread hope, Guess is engaged in various philanthropic activities. From 2013-2020, he has worked alongside The Baltimore City Police Department and Somebody Cares Baltimore, to meet the spiritual, physical, and mental needs of Baltimore City residents who attend the annual Day Of Hope. In 2015, after the civil unrest in Baltimore, Guess partnered with the Mayor’s Office Summer Block Party Tour to help spread a message of hope once again.
In 2021 Guess began an entrepreneurial journey, launching his apparel brand “Be Good Brand”. The brand focuses on the importance of mental health. Guess says “we gotta get right mentally, everything else flows from there!”

For nearly 10 years, Jim Vincent has served as the president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Providence Branch. Since 2013, Jim has worked for Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA), first, as the Civil Rights Compliance Officer and, currently, as the Community Outreach Officer.

For the past 18 years, he has served as the producer and host of television's Jim Vincent Show.

Additionally, Jim serves as the president of the East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) and serves on the Executive Committees of the African Alliance of Rhode Island (AARI) and the Southern New England Association of Black Journalists (SNEABJ). He is a member of the Cape Verdean Progressive Center.

Jim is a former president of the Urban League of Rhode Island (ULRI) and the Rhode Island Affirmative Action Professionals (RIAAP).

Jim holds a Master of City Planning (MCP) from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Dartmouth College. He is a graduate of Leadership Rhode Island (LRI).

Carla Monteiro earned an Associate’s degree in Human Services and a Substance Abuse Counseling Certificate from Quincy College, her BSW from Bridgewater State University, and an MSW from the Boston College School of Social Work. She is the Founder and President of the Cape Verdean Social Workers Association and serves on the Board of Directors at Nos Di Tchada I Amigos. Carla is a member of the National Association of Black Social Workers, Greater Boston Chapter, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and the National Association of Social Workers, MA-Chapter. In 2019, Carla was appointed as one of 277 elected delegates for the National Association of Social Workers Delegate Assembly slate for Massachusetts. She is also a Big Sister with the Big Sisters Association of Greater Boston.

Last year, Carla joined colleagues and refugee organizations to aid migrants during a trip to the border of Arizona/Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. In 2017, She traveled to Washington DC with Bridgewater State University and Youth Service Opportunity Project (YSOP) to support people who were experiencing homelessness. Carla previously worked with incarcerated men and women at the Suffolk County House of Correction and Nashua Street Jail. Carla is a certified Reiki II Practitioner and currently works for the Bridge Clinic, a substance use clinic at Brigham and Women’s Hospital . Carla has a well-established legacy of relentless advocacy for disenfranchised minorities and those in need.

This past May Carla was the honoree for the “Future of Social Work Award” by the National Association of Social Workers-Massachusetts Chapter. In 2020, Carla will receive the "Alfred J. Gomes Community Service Award" from The Afro-American Alumni Association at Bridgewater State University.
