Salvation, even in our Condemnation. JOHN 3:17

Salvation, even in our Condemnation. JOHN 3:17

Time is a mortal construct bound by the boundaries of mortal existence, and the period of our existence here is the metamorphizing of our sinful nature into the purity of God’s likeness and image. Weigh your choices of immoral pleasures within boundaries of time to the eternity of God’s spiritual oneness and unbounded joy and happiness.

When the transformation from mortal to immortal happens, the memories of our immoral pass will cease since the state of our spiritual being exists without these material desires.

Lifting Oneself. JOHN 3:14

The connections between this verse and the preceding verses are two. First, Jesus moves from explaining the new birth in terms of the categories’ water’ and ‘spirit’ used by Ezekiel in Eze 37 to a narrative passage, the well-known account of the bronze snake in the desert in

Look to Christ and not Ourselves. JOHN 3:12

Look to Christ and not Ourselves. JOHN 3:12

The reality of our broken state continues in many who claim salvation. Unfortunately, the reality of the condemnation is apparent since their views are so blinded by their self-righteousness that we cannot see our faults. It begins within us, and that battle does not end in a moment’s acceptance of Christ. The battle against our ‘self’ continues till judgement. Unless that truth is made known, we will continue to live in a lie.

THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. JOHN 3:8

THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. JOHN 3:8

As Christians, our faith is the foundation that we build ourselves upon and that faith is what gives us the Spirit to take us places where we do wish to go, as Jesus revealed to Peter in John 21: 18- “18 Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go.” There is no commentary to support my view, but if we as Christians understand the power of the Holy Spirit, we will realize it is the divine that dresses us and not man.

REBIRTH not of the Flesh but of the Spirit. JOHN 3:6

A rebirth is far greater than a physical transformation but a complete psychological, emotional and objective transformation that changes an individual and nullifies the ardent attack of the world around us. We are aware but unaffected by its attempts to subjugate our faith and focus away from God and the cross.

Reborn with the Spirit. JOHN 3:5

We preach joyous oratories, which people want to hear, “The Good News”, and no doubt Jesus is the good news of the New Testament, but there is also the reality that we are the “Bad News,” and we need to make it known and accepted that as much as the “Good News” proclaims salvation and redemption, we must begin looking within our selves and begin the battle with our sin and compulsive need of the world.

ReBirth not of Flesh but Spirit. John 3:4

ReBirth not of Flesh but Spirit. John 3:4

As Christians, the irony of this discourse is that we sometimes live in an illusion that salvation is eternal, but that statement can allow us a harmful application to our lives. Though sin is forgiven at the point of faith in Jesus, allowing ourselves the view that we may continue to sin is contradictory to the fact that we were ever saved in the first place. Faith comes with the assurance that we have accepted Christ’s grace in forgiving our sins and allowing our objective focus to look to God as our reference.

REBIRTH. JOHN 3:3

How much of this world is there to keep you away from God. We are blinded by it’s influences that we settLe into a stupified strance of blind indignation to our faults. Unless we wash away our sins with the blood of the cross and submit to a new beginning, we shall surely be swallowed up.

Set aside this world and look to Christ as our new path. Die to our selves and embrace a new rebirth in Christ. For the new is far greater than the end that awaits you now. For eternity awaits for all reborn to a future without end.

GOD knows your Heart. Do You?    JOHN 2:24-25

Take heed, my brothers and sisters and beware of your choices and actions. You act within your own views and set aside the Word of God. God already knows what is in your hearts, and salvation has never been a part of your destiny unless you turn back to His Word and seek the Holy Spirit in your life. Creation stands witness to your actions, and God already knows what is in your hearts.

Pray and seek forgiveness, for even as Jesus Christ knew what lies in your hearts, he willingly died for your salvation. Do not waste your salvation for the worth of this world but look forward to Kingdom to come.

FOOLISHNESS against TRUTHS. JOHN2: 21-22

FOOLISHNESS against TRUTHS. JOHN2: 21-22

Be wary of preachers and leaders or even fellow Christians who are bound by their own reasoning and their own objective goals rather than the revelation of Scripture. It is the Word of God that convicts us, and it is the Word of God that reveals, and it is the Word of God we live by. Those who allow their views, rather than the power of the Word, only seek to find weak and unspirited followers, who ultimately become followers of men rather than God. Do not allow foolishness to dictate the truths to meet our needs but allow the truths to reveal God’s path to reveal our need in Him.

As Christians today, we are graced by the revelation of the New Covenant in Jesus Christ. As Christ died on the cross, the Jewish Temple was torn in two, and His resurrection in three days signifies the New Temple in Christ. Seek to Know – JOHN 2:18

Seek to Know – JOHN 2:18

Do we as Christian hold to that same Zeal that breaks all boundaries of our fears and reluctance in proclaiming the Kingdom and salvation of our saviour. Are we willing to put aside ‘self’ and embrace the truth in Christ? Unless we confess our sins and place our faith in Christ, can we be empowered by the Holy Spirit to sanctify ourselves in life worthy to the Kingdom? John reveals the manner in which Jesus was to conduct His earthly ministry, which was revealed to his disciples to see and follow. A zeal that engulfs our heart and soul, driven by our love for our Lord and saviour; the same Zeal, Jesus shows himself as a testimony to all who were witness to his divine presence.

Best for the Last – JOHN 2: 6-10

As Jesus begins his ministry, the miracles underscore no other better than Him, whom the Father has sent. Today as we look back into scripture, the revealed Truth cannot be set aside. The world has spawned distractions that lure us away from the Truth in Christ, and we are enticed to accept its immoral attractions because it feeds our need of self gratitude and desire. God is steadfast and does not waver in His promises and what he offers is absolute, while the world wavers and molds itself to meet any perversion we seek.

Water to Wine – Death to Salvation. John 2:1-5

Water to Wine – Death to Salvation. John 2:1-5

Jesus’ first miracle in the Gospel of John was a private one, known only to His disciples, some servants, and probably Jesus’ mother. Matthew had not yet been called to be one of the Twelve, explaining why the miracle is not recorded in the Synoptics. Of the four Gospel writers, only John was there. John used the word “signs” (sēmeiōn, v. 11) because he was seeking to draw attention away from the miracles as such and to point up their significance. A miracle is also a “wonder” (teras), a “power” (dynamis), and a “strange event” (paradoxos). Turning water into wine was the first of 35 recorded miracles Jesus performed.

When GOD Calls, Heed. JOHN 1: 46-51

With profound clarity, the accumulation of Jesus’s narrative provides the prologue to these disciples to the unfolding story that they were to witness. “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”As each of us journey seeking Jesus, He has already seen us, and as we today are witness to the salvation, Jesus has provided the avenue and the path for us. He sees us and awaits us, and until we proclaim, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God!…” we will continue to be lost. Jesus has done all, and now it is time for us to act as he awaits us.

What are you seeking.” These were the first words from Jesus. Ironic, isn’t it, that those words continue to echo through the centuries. A question that challenges the very fabric of our objectivity. What are you seeking to satisfy your needs? What is it that you are looking for? This is the question that we must all ask ourselves every day. Is it curiosity or a genuine need to find answers? Answers that provide meaning to your life or a means to find an opportunity to justify your objectivity.

CHRISTIAN PHILOSOPHY

CHRISTIAN PHILOSOPHY

It is necessary for Christians to pursue philosophical studies, or is this not required?
Due to the fact that it is necessary for Christians to have a worldview or a set of presuppositions, even if those presuppositions are demonstrably incorrect, I believe that Christians should engage in good philosophical study. A person’s worldview has an impact on how they live and interpret their experiences, whether or not they are consciously aware of this. C.S. Lewis wrote in an essay titled “On Learning in Wartime” that “good philosophy must exist, if for no other reason, because bad philosophy must be addressed.” To put it another way, in order to be accepted, it is necessary for Christians to provide responses to opposing philosophical positions.

THE EVIDENCE OF REALITY

THE EVIDENCE OF REALITY

What could be the rationale behind this notion? Consider the following possibility: The notion that no religious belief may claim to describe reality may imply that there is no discernible religious reality. For instance, the notion that religious ideas about God cannot be said to correlate to reality may imply that there is no such thing as a genuine God. If this were true, God would not exist at all. Rather than that, God would be a myth or a figure of speech, the ultimate Imaginary Friend. When people pray to God, they are actually communicating with themselves. At most, God would be a consoling fantasy, something people believe in to escape from reality. To be honest, if we believed this view of God was true, we would not bother you with evidences supporting believing in Him. Indeed, we would not bother believing in God.

Set Aside and Follow. JOHN 1:35-37

The world has placed its claim on you, and you cannot determine the reality of the truth against a secular, pluralistic world around us. The difference is that the world immoralities are vast and endless, and no matter what our immoral and sinful needs are, the world comfortably meets them, whereas the Word of God is absolute and unwavering and steadfast and offers nothing to meet our defined objective reasoning. The Word of God would not be a transcendent divine absolute if it is continuously changing. No matter time, place, lifestyle and whatever technology exists, the Word is Absolute.

Our journey with Christ calls us to be vigilant and full of perseverance. The nature of our faith cannot be testified by ‘self,’ but by those around us. God as Man, in the Spirit, before me. JOHN 1: 30-32

God as Man, in the Spirit, before me. JOHN 1: 30-32

“Why was the Spirit needed in a personality of which the Word, who had been with God and known God, was the basis? Because the humanity of Christ was a true humanity. Being human, he must be indebted to the Spirit for all impartation to His human nature of what is Divine. The knowledge of God which the Word possesses by experience must be humanly apprehended before it can be communicated to men; and this human apprehension can only be arrived at in the case of Christ by the enlightenment of the Spirit … By the Spirit He was enlightened to speak of things divine; and this Spirit, interposed, as it were, between the Word and the human nature of Jesus, was as little cumbrous in its operation or perceptible in consciousness as our breath interposed between the thinking mind and the words we speak to declare our mind.”

BEHOLD !! JOHN 1:29

BEHOLD !! JOHN 1:29

What a revelation and proclamation of the Gospel! I can imagine standing there witnessing the scene as Jesus approached the area of Bethany and The Baptist spotted him in the distance. I cannot fathom the emotional rush he must have felt.
As we come to the second day of John’s narrative, and we will see the one to come in this first chapter. The first biblical mention of the Lamb appeared is in Genesis 22 when Abraham went to the altar to offer his son Isaac.

Understanding that narrative from Genesis 22 sings volumes to all those who doubt our God’s bountiful grace and love. As Abraham took his son Isaac solemnly up the hill to place on an altar to sacrifice him as the Lord had commanded, is an irony of John the Baptist standing and watching Jesus approach and calling out Behold, the Lamb of God.

Ushering in the New. JOHN 1: 25-27

Ushering in the New. JOHN 1: 25-27

“The question put to John the Baptist by the Pharisees in the deputation reflects one of their concerns: Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet? Their interest is in what authorizes John’s baptismal practices. It is not that Baptism was unknown. Some Jewish groups practised ‘proselyte baptism’, i.e. proselytes were baptized in converting to Judaism. In the monastic community at Qumram, members invoked passages such as Ezekiel 36:25 to justify their daily Baptism, a sign that they were the righteous community of the end-time. However, in both instances, Baptism was self-administered. Candidates baptized themselves. One of the things that characterized the Baptism of John the Baptist is that he administered it. It may even be that the authority implicit in such an innovative step triggered the assumption in the minds of at least some Pharisees that John’s Baptism was an end-time rite administered by an end-time figure with great authority.

Voice in the Wilderness- JOHN 1: 22-23

Voice in the Wilderness- JOHN 1: 22-23

The Baptist stood at the crossing roads of the Old to the New; he was the witness of what was to come. The temple was being abused by self-righteous leads whose only concern was power and prestige. We see the different sects coming about led by the Pharisees, whose role was maintaining the past and accumulating wealth and position was their concern—followed by the Sadducees, who were considered rationalists and cold-hearted, portrayed by their intellect. Sadduceeism is a reaction against Phariseeism in every age. Rationalism is a dry, critical, antagonistic spirit that protests against all that cannot be proved-their religion of the intellect. Then there are the Essenes, who bore neither formalism nor scepticism. Mystics who went out into the wilderness to find God in contemplation. Their creed “God must be felt,” their religion one of feeling and the Herodians, whose concern was more based within a political framework which turned aside from religious questions to those concerned man’s social and political existence.

Knowing One Self – JOHN 1:21

Knowing One Self – JOHN 1:21

Finally, we see the Jews’ motives when they sought to find out who The Baptist was. They wanted to know if this was the unfolding of Old Testament prophecies. Why is this important? It sets the stage and the objective motives of the Jewish leaders as time progressed in Jesus’s ministry.

They were already misguided in their questions as they sought something that they had assumed as a legitimate prophecy. They were seeking for the Baptist to openly admit that he was the reincarnate Elijah, in Malachi 4:5

5 “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes.”

CONFESS AND DENY THE WORLD – JOHN 1:20

Many of us look at this statement by John the Baptist’s reply to the Jews when they asked him, “Who are you?” in verse 19, but ironically, has anyone ever wondered why this reply?

He could have replied; he was the person that was paving the way for the one to come since that was the core of his teachings. Seeking all those to repent and prepare for the fulfilment of the Old Testament prophecies. The coming of the Messiah had been foretold and was known to the Jews. Alternatively, he could have said that he was John the Baptist.

While some of these references are neutral and others positive, many have negative connotations and denote Jesus’ adversaries among the Jewish leadership of the day. Great care needs to be exercised by modern readers in their interpretation of these references so as not to misconstrue them. The evangelist identifies ‘the Jews’ here specifically as ‘the Jews of Jerusalem’, almost certainly referring to members of the Jewish Sanhedrin, or ruling council. Part of their responsibility was to assess the genuineness or otherwise of those claiming to be prophets or the Messiah. So they sent ‘priests and Levites’ to question him. The Levites’ normal role was to support the priests in temple worship and to act as temple police. In this latter capacity, perhaps, they accompanied the priests to question Jesus. voice calling in the desert, in John’s case calling upon people to ‘make straight the way of the Lord’, i.e. to ready themselves for the coming of the Messiah.”

WHAT IS DIVINE LOVE?

What does it mean to give your heart to someone? Is it a precondition that we except something in return. Does it mean it allows us the submission of others to our subjective demands. Does it mean that your love demands a response from someone else.
