Teens need to cut back on their screen time

Did you know that most kids the age of 10 and over spend more than 7 hours a day on their phones or electronics? That means that they miss out on family and friends. With this in mind, we need to consider cutting back on our screen time so we don't miss out on the things around us.

Many people feel that some apps can promote physical activities but actually if you do these things you can miss out on family and friends and doing stuff with them. And kids these days are so stuck on their electronics that they miss out on good friends and family relationships. Despite the fact that some kids may be more antisocial than others, they still need to put themselves out there and be more social. If this keeps going on these kids when they grow up they will not know how to have a real conversation with other people or their family. This is a problem.

I understand the POV that people are better than others at social activities so they would rather have relationships with people on games. But most often that can be dangerous because you don't know who they are and they could be someone crazy and they can tell you bad stuff that kids don't need to listen to. Nowadays, cyber-bullying takes place in a lot of games where you can talk to people and text people through the game. This is very dangerous because people can get information about you and ask questions about you to get to know stuff that no one you don’t know that well should know.  Would you agree that it is bad for young children and teens?

Some people think that getting attention from others on social media is a good thing but nevertheless some people are insecure about themselves and after seeing others that are so pretty, and beautiful then that makes them feel bad about themselves and makes them feel that they aren’t good enough.  It's hard to believe that people want to be so pretty that they will post good pictures of themselves just to get attention. However, when people that are insecure about themselves see it, it can make them have low-self esteem and embarrassment about how they look and make them want to look like that too. What's so  great about getting attention that makes people feel bad about themselves?

Now is the time to start spending more time with your family before it's too late! Without a doubt, kids will miss out on family and friend time and soon enough not know how to have a real conversation with others. Why wait another minute on your phone because instead you can make connections with your family and friends. We need to put down our phones now before it’s too late.
