05 - Designing Coffee with the 'candyman' himself Leon Surynt from Nightjar

05 - Designing Coffee with the 'candyman' himself Leon Surynt from Nightjar

Our 5th episode is on Designing coffee. I sat down with the 'cool as ice' Leon Surynt from Nightjar to talk about one of my favourite subjects, Coffee. I think of Leon as 'Mad F&B scientist', who is always crafting something special to give to the community, but he is also a business builder who is on a constant journey of discovery in Food, Beverage and Design.

Leon talks about how he started out in the business back in his home town of wellington, NZ. We also deep dive into his processes with Nightjar, coffee crafting and cold brew, tea making, coffee sustainability, Coffee pricing, as well as advice to people thinking of starting out in coffee.

It was a bumpy start to the show, as Leon felt parched, so after satisfying his thirst we quickly got the show on the road. I hope you love this episode as much as I did.

Ps Please send us your feedback to Info@maek.co.uk. All feedback welcome.
